The much-awaited film of 2022 Mani Ratnam- Chiyaan Vikram's ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ Part One has landed into legal trouble. The makers of the film have been issued a legal notice by a lawyer Selvam for misrepresenting the Cholas.   As per reports in India Today, the makers received a court notice. And the petitioner has pointed out that Aditya Karikalan (played by Vikram) doesn't have tilak on his forehead. But, the poster of Vikram from Ponniyin Selvan shows a tilak. Hence, he demanded a special screening of the film ahead of its release to check if the makers had distorted historical facts in the film. None of the alleged has responded to the notice as of now. Directed by Mani Ratnam, 'Ponniyin Selvan' is made in two parts, and the first part of the film is scheduled to release on September 30th.

Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram has been admitted to Kauvery hospital in Chennai after complaining of uneasiness. According to India Today sources, the actor underwent angioplasty and he is now stable. Vikram is likely to be discahrged from hospital today. 
Vikram has reportedly informed 'Ponniyin Selvan' team that he wouldn't be attending the teaser launch and needs rest for a couple of days. He will attend the audio launch of his upcoming film, 'Cobra,' which is slated to happen on July 11.

The first-look posters of Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya, Trisha and Karthi were unveiled recently. 'Ponniyin Selvan' also stars Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The historical drama is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1995 novel of the same name.
Chiyaan Vikram last featured in Karthik Subbaraj's 'Mahaan.' 
Apart from 'Ponniyin Selvan,' his film 'Cobra,' directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, is scheduled for release later this year. He also has a film with director Pa Ranjith, which is yet to go on floors.
