She was alleged to have "aided and abetted those in charge of the camp in the systematic killing of those imprisoned there between June 1943 and April 1945 in her function as a stenographer and typist in the camp commandant's office."

A German court on Tuesday convicted a 97-year-old woman of being an accessory to murder in over 10,000 cases for her role as a secretary to the SS commander of the Nazis' Stutthof concentration camp during World War II.
Irmgard Furchner was accused of being part of the apparatus that helped the camp function.
The Itzehoe state court in northern Germany gave her a two-year suspended sentence, German news agency dpa reported.
She was alleged to have &ldquo;aided and abetted those in charge of the camp in the systematic killing of those imprisoned there between June 1943 and April 1945 in her function as a stenographer and typist in the camp commandant&rsquo;s office.&rdquo;
The verdict and sentence were in line with prosecutors' demands.
Defense lawyers had asked for their client to be acquitted, arguing that the evidence hadn&rsquo;t shown beyond doubt that Furchner knew about the systematic killings at the camp, meaning there was no proof of intent as required for criminal liability.
In her closing statement, Furchner said she was sorry for what had happened and regretted that she had been at Stutthof at the time.
Furchner was tried in juvenile court because she was 18 and 19 at the time of the alleged crimes and the court couldn't establish beyond doubt her &ldquo;maturity of mind&rdquo; at the time of the alleged offenses.
Presiding Judge Dominik Gross nonetheless noted that she could have resigned from her position at any time.

A fresh conviction was handed out in the George Floyd murder case which sparked widespread Black Lives Matter protests in USA.
On 7 July, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 21 years in prison for violating Floyd's civil rights. Chauvin had earlier been sentenced to 22 and a half years in jail for murder and manslaughter.
On May 25, 2020, Chauvin had killed African-American Floyd by pinning him to the ground for over 9 minutes even as the latter said that he was unable to breathe. During the July 7 hearing, Chauvin said that he wishes the best for George Floyd's children but did not issue a direct apology.
Chauvin had earlier signed a plea deal which allows the two jail sentences to run concurrently. He will also be transferred from a Minnesota state prison to a federal incarceration facility where he would be safer and under less-restrictive conditions, as per experts.

As per the prosecution, Yadav was an "active member of the riotous mob" and took active participation in vandalizing and arson on the night of February 25.
Manori had alleged a mob of around 150-200 rioters attacked her house when her family was not present and looted all the articles and even the buffalo.
The 25-year-old Yadav was arrested on June 8, 2020. The court framed charges against him on August 3, 2021, to which he pleaded not guilty and claimed trial.
Communal clashes had broken out in northeast Delhi in February 2020, after violence between the Citizenship (Amendment) Act supporters and its protesters spiraled out of control leaving at least 53 people dead and over 700 injured.
