The clash occurred around 3 a.m. in the dense forests of south Abujhmaad during an anti-Naxalite operation carried out by a joint team of police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.

At least seven Naxalites were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh, on Thursday, according to a senior police official.
The clash occurred around 3 a.m. in the dense forests of south Abujhmaad during an anti-Naxalite operation carried out by a joint team of police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to counter Naxalite insurgency in the region.
Security forces, including personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Bastar, and Kondagaon districts, alongside CRPF teams, were involved in the operation.
Once the firefight subsided, the bodies of seven Naxalites, all wearing uniforms, were recovered. Authorities have continued search operations in the area to ensure all Naxalite elements are neutralized.

The country's largest paramilitary force CRPF has issued a fresh set of social media guidelines for its personnel, asking them not to comment on controversial or political matters that may come back to "haunt" them later.
The two-page instructions were issued last week by the headquarters of the force in Delhi after it was noticed that the "force personnel were taking recourse to social media platforms to vent their personal grievances which is in violation of CCS conduct Rules 1964 and may attract disciplinary action".
A circular issued in this context has been accessed by PTI and it states that the new guidelines are being issued to make aware the personnel against "cyber bullying and harassment" and also to sensitise them.
The guidelines suggested some "don'ts" including not revealing the exact posting and nature of work if working in a sensitive ministry or organisation.

The Amarnath cave in Jammu & Kashmir continues to be a site of hectic activity a day after a cloudburst caused massive destruction. The death toll crossed 15, and more than 40 people remained missing by the afternoon of 9 July.
Amid incessant rainfall, frantic rescue operations continued at the Hindu shrine with the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) working round-the-clock.
Around 15,000 people had been moved to safety by July 9 afternoon. Many pilgrims stuck around the Amarnath cave shrine were moved to Panchtarni, the base camp for the Amarnath Yatra.
The IAF sent Mi-17 helicopters from Srinagar to aid rescue operations. The choppers had earlier been unable to take off due to bad weather.
To look for survivors beneath debris, two through-wall radar, and two search & rescue dogs were also sent to the site via chopper.
The Amarnath Yatra has been suspended for now. Disaster struck at around 5:30 on 8 July when a "highly localised" cloud above the Amarnath cave released 31 mm of rain in just 2 hours.
The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of severe rainfall in the upper reaches.

The incident happened around 2.30 pm in Patadhara Reserve Forest near Sahajpani village in Bheden block, they said.
"Unfortunately, three jawans have attended martyrdom in Nuapada. Our senior officers are on the way to the site," Odisha's Director-General of Police SK Bansal told PTI in the evening.
The troops were attacked when they were engaged in a road opening and clearing operation, officials said.
It is suspected that the Maoists had prior information regarding the movement of the forces, they said.
The Maoists attacked the troops using improvised or crudely-made barrel grenade launchers (BGLs), they said.
"The troops retaliated forcing the Maoists to flee," a CRPF spokesperson said in New Delhi said.
According to a preliminary report, seven jawans were on the move when the incident took place, officials said in Bhubaneswar said.
The deceased were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shishu Pal Singh, a native of UP, ASI Shiv Lal who hailed from Haryana, and Constable Dharmendra Kumar Singh, a native of Bihar. They were with the 19th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Combing operations have been intensified in the area, and more teams of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and CRPF were at the site, officials said.
The operations would continue till the Maoists are flushed out, the DGP said, expressing deep condolences to the bereaved families.
The supreme sacrifice of the personnel would not go in vain, he said.
The CRPF recently said that some of its forward operation bases in Chhattisgarh were attacked in the last six months using 100-150 explosives-filled devices. These rocket-shaped crude devices have been named BGL by the force as they have an iron casing and fins at the tail.

"At about 8:10 pm, terrorists hurled a grenade upon the camp of 178 Battalion of the CRPF at Babapora in Zainapora area of the south Kashmir district of Shopian," a police official said.
In another incident, terrorists threw a grenade at the camp of 180 Battalion of the CRPF at Nowdal in Tral area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir, the official said.
The attacks came on a day the paramilitary force held its 83rd Raising Day parade in Jammu. Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the CRPF Day event, held for the first time outside the national capital.
The home minister said the biggest work done in Jammu and Kashmir is that the CAPFs have taken "decisive control" of the fight against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and in the next few years, "I am sure that we will be able to restore peace (in J&K and in naxal and extremism affected areas of the country, including in the northeast), and if it happens, the credit will go to CRPF jawans.”
The Border Security Force, the Indo-Tibetian Border Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, the Central Industrial Security Force, the Sashastra Seema Bal are among the CAPFs. Of them, the CRPF is the country largest paramilitary force.

News agency ANI&nbsp;reported that the fratricide incident took place at the paramilitary camp in the Maoist hot bed of Sukma.&nbsp;

Four CRPF personnel were killed and three others injured after their colleague opened fire at them in a camp of the paramilitary force in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday, a police official said.
The incident took place at around 3.15 am in the camp of the Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) 50th battalion in Linganpalli village under Maraiguda police station of the area of the district, located nearly 400 km from the state capital Raipur, Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P said.
As per preliminary information, constable Reetesh Ranjan fired at his colleagues with his service weapon, an AK-47 rifle, the official said.
The seven injured personnel were immediately shifted to a hospital in nearby Bhadrachalam area of neighbouring Telangana, where doctors declared four of them dead on arrival, the official said.
Those killed were identified as constables Rajmani Kumar Yadav, Rajib Mondal, Dhanji and Dharmendra Kumar, he said, adding that three other injured personnel were being treated at the hospital.
"The motive behind the firing is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is on into the incident," the official said.
Constable Ranjan was immediately held and his interrogation is underway, he said.
In a similar incident of fratricide in January this year, a CRPF jawan was killed and another one injured after their colleague opened fire at them in their camp in the state's Bastar district, police earlier said.
The offender had then tried to commit suicide by shooting himself, they said.&nbsp;
