The debut edition of CUET has been marred by glitches so far causing exam cancellations at multiple centres and postponement of exams for several candidates.&nbsp;

Several Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG (Under Graduate) aspirants are claiming that the exam dates mentioned on their admit cards have already passed while the date intimated to them earlier was different.&nbsp;
The debut edition of CUET, which has been split into six phases, has been marred by glitches so far causing exam cancellations at multiple centres and postponement of exams for several candidates.&nbsp;
However, the rescheduling of the exam for several candidates and attempts to accommodate the choice of city for exam centre has left students a worried lot as their admit cards and city intimation slips are mentioning different dates.&nbsp;
The students have been reaching out to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) requesting for another chance to appear in the examination.&nbsp;
Yuvraj Singh Chauhan from Jodhpur in Rajasthan was intimated that his exam is scheduled for August 10. When he downloaded his admit card on August 7, he was shocked to see that his exam date was August 6 which had already passed.&nbsp;
"The admit cards are not available much ahead of the exam and only city intimation slips. Even if the exam date has been changed some intimation should be given. My exam date has already passed and I have been emailing NTA about the problem requesting for a retest but I haven't heard from them yet," he said.&nbsp;
Atulsen Singh Yadav from Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh has the same grievance.&nbsp;

"My exam was rescheduled on August 30 because I retained my intimated city (Balrampur) but today when I download the admit card then the exam date mentioned is August 17, which is already over," he said.&nbsp;
According to UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, the students with grievances need to write to the NTA with their application number.&nbsp;
"After verification, NTA will take a decision on permitting them to write a retest," he told PTI.&nbsp;
The fifth phase of the crucial exam, which is the gateway for undergraduate admissions in central universities across the country, began on Sunday.&nbsp;
Nikhil R Mishra, a CUET aspirant from Bihar, was surprised to see his admit card as not only the exam date mentioned in the city intimation slip had changed but also his allotted city, which was five hours away from the one intimated before.&nbsp; "If we will keep worrying about this, how will we study and prepare for the exam? How can one focus amid such chaos?" he said.&nbsp;
Raunak Patkar from Kanpur received an email on August 6 informing him that his exam is in the second shift on the same day.&nbsp;
However, till a day before his admit card wasn't available for download and the date intimated to him before was different.&nbsp; According to the initial plan, all phases of the CUET-UG were scheduled to conclude on August 20. The NTA, which is responsible for conducting the entrance test, later announced that all phases of the exam will conclude on August 28.&nbsp;
However, now the schedule has been further deferred and the exam has been split into six phases.&nbsp;
The UGC chairman had earlier said that the exam has been cancelled at several centres following reports of "sabotage".&nbsp;
With 14.9 lakh registrations, the CUET, the common gateway for undergraduate admissions in all central universities, is now the second biggest entrance exam in the country, surpassing JEE-Main&rsquo;s average registration of nine lakh. NEET-UG is the biggest entrance test in India with an average of 18 lakh registrations.&nbsp;

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday delisted 53 exam centres from conducting the Common University Entrance Test for Under Graduate (CUET-UG) admissions after exams had to be rescheduled over the past two days following 'technical glitches' at several centres.


The action was taken for 'non-compliance of protocols' and the centres were also warned of strict action in case of "sabotage".

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday delisted 53 exam centres from conducting the Common University Entrance Test for Under Graduate (CUET-UG) admissions after exams had to be rescheduled over the past two days following 'technical glitches' at several centres.
The action was taken for 'non-compliance of protocols' and the centres were also warned of strict action in case of "sabotage".
For the remaining schedule of the CUET-UG, no exam will be held at these delisted centres.
On Thursday, the first shift of the exam was cancelled in 17 states, while the second shift was cancelled at all 489 centres. On Friday, the exam was cancelled at 50 centres.
On Saturday, NTA anticipated a similar situation and cancelled the CUET-UG for the day at 53 centres and sent messages to candidates about its postponement on Friday night. These exams will now be held between August 12 and August 14.
The Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan was also forced to hold a review meeting along with officials of his Ministry, the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education and NTA after large number of complaints were registered from affected students and their parents.
&ldquo;It was found that some of the centres failed to comply with the laid down protocols. Any incidence of non-compliance/sabotage/ignorance will be viewed very seriously and strict action will be taken against those centres to ensure smooth conduct of examinations in future,&rdquo; the NTA said in a press statement.
Of the 53 centres, 32 are in Delhi.
&ldquo;We are working on a comprehensive plan for exams that have been rescheduled. We will intimate the exact schedule in a few days. We have also received representations from those seeking change in dates because of clash with other competitive exams and are looking into their requests,&rdquo; Mr. Joshi said. The NTA is yet to announce when the result will be declared, but the DG said that there will be no delay. &ldquo;We have enough space available,&rdquo; he said.
The NTA is conducting CUET -UG 2022 from July 15 to August 20 in two phases at 489 centres in 259 cities in India and nine cities abroad. The exam is being held in two shifts &mdash; morning and afternoon. Approximately 14.9 lakh students have registered for the exam.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at the government on Twitter, saying the &ldquo;new education policy of amrit kaal&rdquo; was to have &ldquo;parikshaa pe charcha&rdquo; (Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s interaction with students) before exams, &ldquo;no question paper, no discussion&rdquo; at the time of exams and &ldquo;after the exam a future in darkness&rdquo;. He said, &ldquo;today what is happening with students of CUET is the story of every youth in the country.&rdquo;
