Passenger services on the Noida-Greater Noida Metro will commence from 2 pm on March 25 on account of Holi, officials said on Saturday.
After 2 pm, the trains would be available at a normal frequency of 15 minutes, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) said.
NMRC Managing Director Lokesh M said, "On the occasion of the Holi festival - March 25, 2024 (Monday), Metro services will not be available till 2 pm." "Metro train services will thus start at 2 pm from both terminal stations on Aqua Line and will continue normally thereafter at a frequency of 15 minutes," the senior IAS officer said.
The Aqua Line of the NMRC continues in Noida and Greater Noida through 21 stations over a distance of 29.7 km.
The Delhi Metro, whose Blue Line and Magenta Line have stations in Noida, will start its services at 2.30 pm on March 25, officials said on Friday.&nbsp;

A 30-year-old man from Delhi took his life by jumping in front of a moving metro train at INA station&nbsp;

&nbsp;A 30-year-old man killed himself by jumping in front of a moving train at Delhi's INA metro station, police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 7 pm on Saturday and the deceased was identified as Ajitesh Singh, they said.
CCTV camera footage showed Singh jump in front of a Samaipur Badli-bound train from platform number two, police said.
A team rushed to the spot after the police control room got a call regarding the incident.
"Singh was identified through a call, which came on his mobile phone," said a senior police officer.
"The body was shifted to mortuary for autopsy. Further investigation is underway to determine the reason why he took this extreme step," said the officer.
The incident was reported at the INA station at 7:04 pm on Saturday.
Metro services were impacted for about 15 to 20 minutes because of the same, a senior official of DMRC said

If successful in Delhi, this initiative could expand to metro cities like Chennai, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The objective is to make subsidized food items more accessible to a wider audience. Previously, NCCF sold tomatoes at subsidized rates in Delhi when market prices surged above Rs 200 per kilogram.

NCCF had earlier collaborated with e-commerce platform magicpin to sell groceries, including onions and pulses, at reduced prices through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This partnership came after a successful stint where tomatoes were sold at Rs 70 per kilogram when market prices soared above Rs 100.
Currently, NCCF is retailing onions at a subsidized rate of Rs 25 per kilogram in Delhi, with plans to extend this subsidy to other states beyond the Delhi-NCR region, aiming to cover all states from Jammu and Kashmir to Kerala, as per a recent statement by NCCF.

Commuters can now obtain a mobile QR ticket via the 'Delhi Metro' section on the Paytm app by entering their entry and destination stations on the day of travel.
To use this feature, passengers simply hold their smartphones in front of the QR code scanner at the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates when entering and exiting the stations. Previously, this service was limited to the Airport Express Line. Additionally, with the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon scheduled for October 15, DMRC announced that train services will begin at 3:45 am from terminal stations across all metro lines to facilitate the transportation of participants to the race venue at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the '10K' venue on Janpath-Tolstoy Marg Junction. Trains will run at 15-minute intervals until 6 am and then return to their regular schedules for the rest of the day on all lines."

The incident took place around 8:30 pm on Wednesday on the 'Red Line' of the Delhi Metro. The train was crowded on account of Rakshabandhan festivities, they said.
The girl's mother found that the man had ejaculated on her daughter in the overcrowded coach and she got down at the Seelampur station, the officials said.
The accused, who hails from West Bengal, was apprehended by two fellow passengers who noticed the incident and they later handed him over to the Delhi Metro authorities at the Shahdara station, they said.

Recently, a video of a young woman gyrating to the popular Bollywood song "Assalam-e-Ishqum" surfaced online.
Prior to this, a string of other videos made inside metro trains and at-station platforms went viral on social media, prompting the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to appeal to commuters to refrain from indulging in such activities.
On Friday, the DMRC used a nursery rhyme to drive home its point.
"Open your camera, Na Na Na! #DelhiMetro," the DMRC said in a tweet.
Along with the tweet, it also shared a poster which read, "Johnny Johnny! Yes, Papa? Making Reels in Metro? No Papa!" "Any such activity that may cause inconvenience to passengers is strictly prohibited inside the Delhi Metro," read the footnote on the poster.
In May, a video of a young couple kissing each other inside a metro coach went viral on social media, following which the DMRC urged its commuters to "refrain from indulging in such obscene activities".
It also requested commuters to report such incidents to the "nearest available metro staff/CISF immediately, so that appropriate action can be taken".
Social media users have responded to these videos with anger and humour.
After the video of the couple kissing surfaced online, many social media users had urged the DMRC to take action against the couple, while some questioned the need for filming the act.
Some people made mirth.
Reacting to the video, a social media user said, the youth was "performing CPR on her, what is wrong with that?" In a statement, the DMRC said it "expects commuters to behave responsibly while using the Delhi Metro and follow all social etiquette and protocols which are acceptable in the society".
"Commuters should not indulge in any indecent/obscene activity that may cause discomfort or could offend the sensibilities of other fellow commuters. DMRC's Operations and Maintenance Act in fact lists out indecency as a punishable offence under Section 59," it said.

A woman has alleged that she was sexually harassed by a man at a station on Delhi Metro's yellow line, officials said on Friday.
The woman took to Twitter to narrate her ordeal following which the Delhi Police asked her to provide her contact details so that they can reach her.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation also replied to the woman and asked for the exact time of the incident.
In a series of tweets, the woman claimed that on Thursday afternoon when she got off at the Jor Bagh metro station, a man approached her on the pretext of confirming an address.
"While travelling on the yellow line today, I faced sexual harassment at the Jor Bagh Station. The man had asked for my help w an address during the metro ride.
"I helped him, then got off at my station and sat on the platform to book a cab. The man approached me again at the station under the garb of confirming the address. Believing dat he needed help.." The man flashed his genitals while trying to to show me a file containing the address, the woman alleged in a tweet.
The woman also alleged that the policeman standing on the platform did not take any action after she approached her for help.
"I approached a policeman standing on the platform, but he flatly refused to help me and asked me to go upstairs to talk about it.
"I was still scared but I somehow managed to go upstairs and found other policemen. I asked dem to take me to the CCTV room so dat I could recognise him," she said in another tweet.
The entire incident was captured on camera but then we saw him get into a different metro and leave.
The woman alleged that when she asked the authorities to do something, they instead blamed her for creating a scene.
"I asked them to do something about it but instead they started blaming me and said dat I shouldve created a scene & tht theres nothing they can do now since he managed to leave," the woman said in her tweets.
The woman said she is scared to step out of her house and "the incident has completely shaken up my belief that metros are safe." She said it's important that this reaches the right authorities, including the DMRC and the Delhi Police so that they know "how bad their safety measures are".
Replying to her tweets, the DMRC asked the woman to share the exact time of the incident.
"Please provide exact time of the incident. In such cases, commuters are requested to immediately report the matter to the nearest metro staff or contact customer care centre at the station. They can also call, DMRC helpline no. 155370 or CISF helpline no. 155655 so that immediate help can be provided," the DMRC said in its tweet.

In an event held on 26th November, volunteers at the Metro Bhawan were screened and vaccinated. The campaign seeks to spread awareness about Hepatitis C and B through advocacy strategies and improved health care initiatives.

As early as next year, Delhi Metro will connect to the New Delhi railway station platforms directly. Commuters will no longer have to cross clogged lanes to get to the platform as DMRC will build a 225-metre skywalk, as an extension of the foot over bridge inside the railway station. This will give commuters direct access to the Delhi Metro station, the Airport Express Line, autorickshaw stands and parking lots.
