The Delhi Police registered a case on Sunday after a complaint by the Ministry of Home Affairs in connection with the doctored videos of Union Home Minister Amit Shah being circulated on social media platforms, officials said.
The Special Cell has registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC and relevant provision of the IT Act, they said. Sources in the Special Cell said that now arrests are likely to follow across the country.
According to the complaint filed by Sinku Sharan Singh, DC, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), some doctored videos are being circulated on social media with "the intent of creating disharmony among communities which is likely to affect public tranquility and public order." According to the complainant, links from which the videos were shared were also attached for further action.
A copy of the FIR was also sent to the IFSO unit of the Delhi Cyber Police.

The Delhi Police on March 16 have arrested two chain snatchers who targeted a jogger at Nehru Park in the Chanakyapuri area in Delhi. Skilled in the martial art, Vinod Badola, chased the snatchers and caught one of them and disarmed. The second accused was reportedly escaped. The snatcher tried to escape by blending in with the crowd but ended was getting caught near a fountain. &nbsp; The two snatchers, identified as Gaurav and Pawan Dev, have been charged under sections for robbery with intent to cause death. The police have collected CCTV footage from the area and increased patrolling around the spot, police reported to The Times of India outlet. &nbsp;

The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has busted a racket of seven people, who were allegedly involved in manufacturing and supplying spurious 'life saving' cancer chemotherapy drugs, officials on Tuesday said.
The arrested accused identified as Viphil Jain (46), Suraj Shat (28), Neeraj Chauhan (38), Parvez (33), Komal Tiwari (39), Abhinay Kohli (30) and Tushar Chauhan (28) played with the lives of people by selling 'fake' drugs, police said.
"Information regarding a racket involved in manufacturing and supply of spurious cancer medicine was received after which a dedicated team was constituted," Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Shalini Singh said.
The officer said that on the basis of the information developed, simultaneous raids were conducted at four different places -- two flats in Moti Nagar, one flat in South City of Gurgaon, one flat in Yamuna Vihar of northeast Delhi and a reputed cancer hospital in Delhi.
The Special CP said that two flats in DLF Capital Greens, Moti Nagar, were the prime location where the spurious cancer medicines were being manufactured by Viphil Jain, who is the mastermind of this racket.
"Jain had taken two EWS Flats in Moti Nagar and using the same flat to refill the spurious cancer medicine (vials). Suraj Shat was managing the refilling and packaging of these vials," the senior officer said.
During raids, 140 filled vials of spurious cancer injections of Opdyta, Keytruda, Dextrose, Fluconazole brands were seized along with three cap sealing machines, one Heat Gun Machine and 197 empty vials and other essential packaging material, she added.
At the Gurgaon flat, one Neeraj Chauhan hoarded a large cache of spurious cancer injections, the Special CP said.
During raid, 137 vials of spurious cancer injections namely Keytruda, Infinzi, Tecentriq, Perjeta, Opdyta, Darzalex &amp; Erbitux and 519 empty vials of Keytruda, Infinzi, Tecentriq, Perjeta, Opdyta, Darzalex &amp; Phesgo and 864 empty packaging boxes of vials of above mentioned spurious cancer vials were also recovered, the officer said.
At the instance of Neeraj, his cousin brother Tushar Chauhan was also nabbed, who was indulged in the supply chain, she added.
From Yamuna Vihar, the police nabbed one Parvez, who arranged empty vials for Viphil Jain and was also involved in the supply of the refilled vials. 20 empty vials were recovered from his possession.
Two people -- Komal Tiwari and Abhinay Kohli -- working in the Cytotoxic Admixture Unit of the hospital were nabbed during the fourth raid, which was conducted at a reputed Cancer hospital in the city (name not shared by the police) . They were involved in providing empty vials for Rs 5,000 each, the Special CP said.
Police said that Neeraj Chauhan, who previously worked as a manager in the Oncology Department of reputed hospitals, joined forces with Jain in 2022, leveraging his experience to provide fake chemotherapy injections at affordable rates.
"Parvez, an ex-pharmacist of a reputed Cancer Hospital, ran a pharmacy shop and supplied empty as well as filled vials to Jain. Tushar Chauhan, a laboratory technician, collaborated with Neeraj Chauhan to distribute fake medicines assigned to them by Neeraj," added the Special CP.

Delhi Police on Sunday held full dress rehearsals for the G20 Summit, escorting carcades from different parts in the national capital, officials said. The police advised people to follow real-time traffic updates on the 'G-20 Virtual Help Desk' for route suggestions for commuting from/to the airport, railway stations, or bus terminals.
The first rehearsal was held from 8 am to 9 am, the second one between 9.30 am and 10 am; and the last will be held from 12.30 pm to 4 pm, police said.
On Sunday, there will be regulations on the movement of traffic at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, IP Flyover, Rajghat Chowk, Shanti Van Chowk, Saleem Garh Bypas, Bhairon Road, Ring Road, Mathura Road, Shershah Road, C-Hexagon, roundabouts at Mansingh Road, Gol Methi, Teen Murti, Yashwant Place, Brig Hoshiyar Singh Marg, and Tolstoy Marg.
The traffic police has warned that commuters may experience more than normal traffic on these roads and junctions, and advised them to plan their journeys in advance so that they could avoid these roads during the specified time slots, police said.
The commuters have been advised to use metro services during the rehearsal.
Similarly rehearsals were held on Saturday as well.
The commuters could take Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Noida Link Road, Pusta Road, Yudhistir Setu, ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Ring Road and Majnu Ka Tila for the north-south corridor, police said.
Passengers would be allowed to use their private vehicles, auto-rickshaws, and taxis for travelling to New Delhi and Old Delhi railway stations or the airport, police said.

While the police have filed sexual harassment, stalking charges in the chargesheet, it has done so based on the statements of protesting wrestlers and their acquaintances.
According to multiple reports, the two complainants who were asked to submit audio, video and photo evidence were unable to provide substantial proof.
These reports claim that only a handful of photographs were submitted as evidence even though the Delhi Police went through hundreds of them.
The cops also found no video evidence, according to the report.The hearing in the matter will next take place on June 22.

Officials added that cops are collecting evidence in connection with the case filed against the former WFI chief, and will submit a report in court accordingly.
