Asserting that the NEET paper leak is an institutional failure of the NTA, Pradhan assured that those found guilty would not be spared.

Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan took moral responsibility for the NEET paper leak and announced that the government is forming a high-level committee to improve the efficiency of the National Testing Agency.
Briefing the media on Thursday, Pradhan assured that those found guilty would not be spared.
"Paper leak is an institutional failure of NTA. We are assuring you that there will be a reform committee and action will be taken," he said.
"The government is forming a high-level committee. Recommendations will be expected from that high-level committee to further improve NTA, its structure, functioning, examination process, transparency, and data security protocol. We are committed to zero-error examination."
Pradhan further said that those found guilty would be severely punished.
"I want to assure everyone that the culprits will dealt with strongly. Be it NTA or anyone from the NTA, those found guilty will punished severely."
Talking about cancelling the UGC-NET exam, Pradhan said, "Soon after it was clear that the UGC-NET question paper on Dark Net matches the original question paper of UGC-NET, we decided to cancel the examination."

The opposition INDIA bloc is a "real challenge", Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan said on Friday, adding he has requested his party to allow him to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from his home state Odisha.
In an interview with PTI, Pradhan, who is a Rajya Sabha member, said the BJP's agenda is to ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gets to serve the nation for a third term.
"I consider it (INDIA bloc) as a real challenge because the BJP and the NDA do not take any election casually. From ground workers to top leaders, everybody takes each election very seriously and the prime minister leads us from the front," he said.
On his wish to fight the Lok Sabha elections, he said, "I have already informed the party about my wish and have requested it to give me a chance. The BJP's agenda is to ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gets to serve the nation for a third term." Speaking about the women's reservation bill, Pradhan said Prime Minister Modi has set an example by giving political rights to the country's mothers and sisters.
"The Congress let the women's reservation bill lapse and did not show any dedication to it during its rule. Nobody had held their hands. They had the opportunity (to get the bill passed) but they did not do it," he said.
Pradhan attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his demand for a nationwide caste census, saying he and his "family party" should share details of the work they did for the OBCs and weaker sections in the last 75 years.&nbsp;

"Law is equal for everyone," Pradhan told reporters at a press conference, accusing Gandhi of "abusing" backward castes with his "thieves" jibe aimed at "Modi surname".
Hitting back at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for his claim that Gandhi has been punished for speaking the truth on the Adani-Hindenburg issue, he asked if abusing deprived and backward communities means speaking the truth.
Both the BJP leaders asserted that Gandhi's disqualification was a natural outcome of the law as the Supreme Court has made it clear that a lawmaker stands disqualified from the time of his conviction. The Lok Sabha speaker has only confirmed this legal position, they said.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat disqualified Gandhi as MP from Wayanad in Kerala a day after a Surat court convicted him in a 2019 criminal defamation case for his remark "How come all thieves have Modi as the common surname?" Following his disqualification, he would not be able to contest elections for eight years unless a higher court stays his conviction and sentence.

Pradhan said in a series of tweets that the exam will be held Covid-19 protocols and the application process will begin from 5 pm on Tuesday through the NTA website.
To ensure adherence to Covid-19 protocols, face mask will be provided to all candidates at the centre. Staggered time slots during entry and exit, contactless registration, proper sanitisation, seating with social distancing etc. will also be ensured.
The Education Minister further said that in order to ensure social distancing norms, the number of cities where examination will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198. The number of examination centres will also be increased from 3,862 used in the previous exams.&nbsp;

Steel Minister refuted the concerns on SAIL raised by West Bengal (WB) Finance&nbsp;Minister&nbsp;Amit Mitra&nbsp;stating that there are&nbsp;there are no plans to terminate any employee of state-owned SAIL or reduce its headcount.
In a letter&nbsp;Union steel minister Dharmendra Pradhan&nbsp;told Mitra&nbsp;that "There is no plan to terminate or reduce employee strength of the company. SAIL, a responsible employer, will continue to take care of its employees. I hope that clarifies the position as regards to your apprehensions".
On Wednesday, Mitra had requested the steel minister to intervene and stop the dismantling of Raw Materials Division (RMD) of&nbsp;Steel Authority of India Limited in Kolkatta.&nbsp;SAIL&rsquo;s raw material division, headquartered in Kolkata, runs 15 mines including iron ore mines, flux mines and coal mines.

Steel Minister refuted the concerns on SAIL raised by West Bengal (WB) Finance&nbsp;Minister&nbsp;Amit Mitra&nbsp;stating that there are&nbsp;there are no plans to terminate any employee of state-owned SAIL or reduce its headcount.
In a letter&nbsp;Union steel minister Dharmendra Pradhan&nbsp;told Mitra&nbsp;that "There is no plan to terminate or reduce employee strength of the company. SAIL, a responsible employer, will continue to take care of its employees. I hope that clarifies the position as regards to your apprehensions".
On Wednesday, Mitra had requested the steel minister to intervene and stop the dismantling of Raw Materials Division (RMD) of&nbsp;Steel Authority of India Limited in Kolkatta.&nbsp;SAIL&rsquo;s raw material division, headquartered in Kolkata, runs 15 mines including iron ore mines, flux mines and coal mines.

As the country faces the oxygen crisis,&nbsp;Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said that the steel plants from across the country have already supplied 1.43 lakh metric tons of medical oxygen to different states till now.&nbsp;
According to reports, Sail&nbsp;has supplied more than 33,300 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen whereas Tata&nbsp;steel has supplying 200-300 tonnes of medical oxygen on a daily basis to various govt hospitals&nbsp;
The worsening Covid-19 situation has seen a surge in the demand for medical oxygen and beds for the Covid-19 patients and many states are reporting a shortage in essential medical supplies.

Swain had earlier in the day sought clarification from Dharmendra Pradhan and Sarangi, the two union ministers from Odisha questioning them for their silence on their party BJP's stand on free Covid-19 vaccination for the people of the state along the lines of the one being promised in Bihar.
The governments of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Puduchchery have already announced free of cost Covid vaccines for the people of their states, while Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has demanded free vaccine for all citizens across the country.
