Most of us will recall seeing doctors and health care professionals wearing green or blue clothes inside operation theatres. But have you wondered why? Well, science has an answer.&nbsp; When we enter a dark room suddenly, and our eyes come in contact with green or blue, we tend to feel better. In a dark operation theatre, doctors face the same thing.
According to scientists, green and blue colours are opposite to red on the spectrum of light. As surgeons mostly focus on red during a surgery, the colours green and blue help enhancing their ability to see and make them more sensitive to red. &nbsp;
According to a report included in the 1998 edition of Today&rsquo;s Surgical Nurse, green clothes also provide comfort to the eyes during surgery.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Doctors at a hospital in Karnataka's Bagalkote have removed 187 coins from a 58-year-old male schizophrenia patient's stomach, which he had ingested in an unstable state of mind recently.
Dyamappa from Raichur district had visited the Hanagal Shreee Kumareshwar Hospital and Research Centre in Bagalkote with the complaint of severe abdominal pain.
Upon examination, the doctors discovered many coins in his stomach, Dr Eshwar Kalburgi said.
&ldquo;Had there been one coin, we would have removed through Endoscopy, but in this case there were many. So we had to operate on him,&rdquo; Kalburgi said.
The patient is now stable after the operation, the doctor said adding, this was a unique case in his career.

Five doctors of a private hospital in Noida have been booked for alleged negligence in treatment of a Covid-19 patient which led to his death during the second wave of the pandemic in 2021, officials said on Monday.
The family of the patient, who was in his early 20s, claimed that he was not administered remdesivir injection in time at the hospital despite them purchasing it on the basis of doctor's prescription, according to the FIR.
The first information report (FIR) has been lodged against the doctors of Yatharth Hospital at the Phase 2 police station under Indian Penal Code section 304A (causing death by negligence) over a complaint by Gautam Buddh Nagar's deputy chief medical officer Dr Tikam Singh.
Dr Singh also headed an official probe committee which had investigated the complaint of the Ghaziabad-based family and the allegations to be true.
However, Yatharth Hospital's managing director Kapil Tyagi claimed that the allegations were misplaced.
&ldquo;The patient was brought to our hospital in a critical condition. I believe had there been a delay of even half an hour, the patient would not have survived. But here his condition started improving and after about 35 days, the family took him to another hospital in Delhi,&rdquo; Tyagi told PTI.
He said the team of doctors at the hospital did a good job at their end, considering the challenging situation during the second wave of the pandemic last year.
&ldquo;Also, on the family's allegation of not administering remdesivir injection in time, there are multiple research reports which later showed remdesivir had no impact in treating coronavirus. We understand that the family has lost a young child and it is very unfortunate,&rdquo; Tyagi said.
Paramhans Tiwari, the in-charge of the Phase 2 police station, said the police are investigating the matter and further action would be taken on the basis of findings of their probe.&nbsp;

Doctors and staff at government hospitals in Bihar&rsquo;s Patna were caught off guard when state Deputy Chief minister Tejashwi Yadav conducted a surprise check.&nbsp;
The young politician who is also the state health minister turned up wearing casual clothes past midnight to take a stock of conditions at the hospitals.&nbsp;
The hospitals where the deputy CM conducted surprise checks included PMCH, the state's largest government health facility, besides the hospitals at Gardiner Road and Gardani Bagh.
During his visits, Yadav was visibly displeased at the lack of cleanliness on the premises, poor availability of medicines and the apparent indifference towards their duty by those on the night roster.
He even pulled up Patna Medical College&rsquo;s superintendent who was all set to go to bed in his office during duty hours moments before Tejashwi Yadav arrived.&nbsp;
Notably, the health department had remained with the BJP for the entire period and Nitish Kumar remained an NDA ally.
