Elvish Yadav, a YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, has yet again landed in legal trouble. Just a month after he was granted bail, a money laundering case has been filed against the internet personality in the snake venom-rave party case by Enforcement Directorate. Elvish has been accused of using snake venom as a recreational drug at his parties. The ED has also filed the case against several others.&nbsp;
The probe agency has filed the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The case has been filed based on the FIR and charge sheet filed by the Noida police against Elvish Yadav and others in the snake venom case. ED is investigating the alleged generation of proceeds from crime and the use of illicit funds for organising raves or parties.
The YouTuber and some others linked to the case will be questioned as part of the probe, per PTI.
Elvish Yadav was arrested on March 17 and spent 14 days in judicial custody. However, a Noida court granted him bail just five days after the arrest. Last month, Noida Police issued a 1200-page chargesheet against Elvish Yadav and eight others in the snake venom-rave party case. It detailed evidence of exotic snake smuggling and rave parties, as well as the reasons why the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) was applied in the case.
The snake venom case came to light in November last year, following a complaint submitted by the NGO People for Animals (PFA). Five people, all snake charmers, were arrested at a banquet hall by Noida Police. Nine snakes, including five cobras, were recovered from the accused's possession. A suspected snake venom of 20 ml was also seized. Elvish Yadav was not present in the banquet hall.

Elvish Yadav recently obtained bail from the Gautam Budh Nagar court following his arrest in a case related to the Wildlife Protection Act. He and five others were accused of supplying snake venom to party attendees for recreational use. Additionally, he received bail from the Gurugram court in an assault case involving content creator Sagar Thakur, also known as Maxtern. Elvish was arrested by the Noida police on March 17 and subsequently spent 14 days in judicial custody.
After receiving bail, Elvish shared his experience in a long video. He said, &lsquo;The one week that went by, no doubt, was a very bad phase of life. What to talk about the time I was inside. Let&rsquo;s start a new chapter on a positive note. All those who supported me didn&rsquo;t support me, talked badly or well about me, thanks to all. I can only thank everyone. Elvish Yadav gained prominence after winning the reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2. The 26-year-old YouTuber was granted bail by the Gautam Budh Nagar court and is scheduled for a hearing at the Gurugram court on March 27. Although he obtained bail, he wasn't released from jail until his appearance in the Gurugram court. Elvish was named in an FIR filed by an animal rights NGO along with five others. In a separate incident last year, he was briefly detained by police in Kota, Rajasthan, while traveling with friends but was subsequently released.

Elvish Yadav&rsquo;s lawyers informed that the court heard his bail application and granted the bail. He will have to furnish two bail bonds of ₹50,000 each. The Bigg Boss OTT fame YouTuber will however remain in jail till the legal formalities are done.

The YouTuber is supposed to appear before the district and sessions court Surajpur in Greater Noida on March 18.
Let us look at what is snake venom and what are its side effects
<h3>What is snake venom?</h3>
Snake venom is a complex mixture of proteins and enzymes produced by venomous snakes. It serves various functions, primarily to immobilise or kill prey, aid in digestion, and defend against predators. The composition of snake venom can vary significantly among different species of snakes.
While it is uncommon, many use snake venom as a recreational drug. It is an uncommon and highly dangerous practice in India, carrying potentially life-threatening risks.
According to a 2018 study &lsquo;Snake Venom Use as a Substitute for Opioids: A Case Report and Review of Literature&rsquo;, the reptiles were made to bite the person's feet or tongue during their &lsquo;recreational&rsquo; use in India.&nbsp;
<h3>What happens when one takes snake venom?</h3>
The study showed that when one is bitten by a snake on the tongue, he/she feels drowsy for a few hours. Then there is an extended period of elevated happiness, an enhanced sense of well-being, and a reduced desire for sleep that lasts for a week.
Once snake venom is injected into the body it releases active metabolites such as serotonin, bradykinin, peptides, and prostaglandins.
Some common side effects are an increased sense of well-being, lethargy, a heightened sense of grandiosity, blurred vision, dizziness, and intense and persistent euphoria. The effects may vary from one person to another.

Elvish Yadav was arrested by Noida police on Sunday for alleged involvement in a snake venom case, reported ANI. Earlier today, the BB OTT 2 winner was interrogated about the allegations of using snake venom at rave parties. Following the questioning, he was arrested along with five others and sent to 14-day judicial custody.&nbsp;
He has been charged under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly supplying the poisonous substance at a party in Noida Sector 59 last year.&nbsp;
<h3>Elvish Yadav snake venom case</h3>
A case was filed against Elvish Yadav in November 2023 following a raid at a rave party during which police found snake venom used for intoxication by the guests. As per the reports, Yadav was not only present in the party, but was also accused of supplying the snake venom.
In his defence, the YouTuber has denied all the allegations and even threatened to file defamation charges in the case. &nbsp;

Police revealed that the YouTuber was assaulted by Yadav around 12.30 am on March 8. According to the police statement, &ldquo;It was at a shop owned by Yadav&rsquo;s acquaintance&hellip; the moment he came in, he started beating Thakur up.&rdquo; In the video, Elvish is seen beating Thakur with his friends.&nbsp;
The victim, Sagar Thakur, said in his police complaint, &ldquo;With over 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube, 8.5 lakh followers on Instagram, and 2.4 lakh followers on X, I have garnered recognition and accolades in the gaming community for my entertainment-based content.&rdquo;&nbsp;
&ldquo;Over the last few months, Elvish fan pages spread hate&hellip; leaving me distressed. I was asked by Yadav to meet but I thought it would be a verbal discussion. When he came to the store, he and his 8-10 goons, who were drunk, started beating me and using abusive language. Elvish Yadav tried to break my spine&hellip;,&rdquo; he added.&nbsp;
On the other hand, Elvish had told Indian Express that Thakur threatened to kill his family. &ldquo;The incident took place in the heat of the moment,&rdquo; he added. &nbsp;
The FIR was registered at Sector 53 police station in Gurgaon under IPC sections 147,149, 323, and 506.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

In the audio clip, the YouTuber claimed that the man had made derogatory comments about him.&nbsp;

This isn't the first instance of Elvish making headlines for controversial reasons. Last November, he was embroiled in a case linked to the supply and use of snake venom at a rave party in Noida. The Noida police filed an FIR against Elvish following a raid on a banquet hall where snakes and venom were found, leading to questioning by authorities based on a complaint from the People For Animals (PFA) organization.

The police arrested five people after Gaurav Gupta, serving as an Animal Welfare Officer at the People For Animal (PFA) organisation, filed a complaint accusing Elvish and other YouTubers of illegally organising rave parties where foreign women were invited to consume snake venom and narcotics.
According to India Today, nine snakes, including five cobras, and snake venom were recovered during the police raids.
In response to these accusations, Elvish took to social media to share a video vehemently denying the allegations. He also said that he is willing to shoulder the blame if found guilty.

The police arrested five people after Gaurav Gupta, serving as an Animal Welfare Officer at the People For Animal (PFA) organisation, filed a complaint accusing Elvish and other YouTubers of illegally organising rave parties where foreign women were invited to consume snake venom and narcotics.
According to India Today, nine snakes, including five cobras, and snake venom were recovered during the police raids.
SHO Sandeep Chaudhary stated that besides the five arrested accused, a case has been registered under sections 9, 39, 48 (A), 49, 50, and 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 against Elvish as well. A probe around the same is underway.

Noida Police filed an FIR against &lsquo;Bigg Boss OTT 2&rsquo; winner Elvish Yadav for allegedly organising rave parties with snake venom.
The police took immediate action and arrested five people after Gaurav Gupta, serving as an Animal Welfare Officer at the People For Animal (PFA) organisation, filed a complaint accusing Elvish and other YouTubers of filming videos with snakes and venom at Noida-NCR farmhouses.
Gaurav alleged that these individuals illegally organised rave parties where foreign women were invited to consume snake venom and narcotics.
PFA, which is associated with Maneka Gandhi received information about the same and contacted Elvish posing as a customer.
A tip-off was given to Forest Department officials as well as the police, who then raided the Sector-51 Sevron Banquet Hall.

He also broke the record that was previously held by 'Bigg Boss 16' winner MC Stan, whose live was attended by 5.41 lakh viewers. Elvish is the first wild card contestant to win 'Bigg Boss OTT season 2'. Speaking with Hindustan Times, Elvish said. 'I have seen those videos. It was very hurtful to hear things like wildcard deserving nahi hota. Deserving nahi hota toh phir iss show me hota hi nahi. I did not enter to leave the show. I came to compete. Aur, yeh baat uske muh se ayi. Jab apne dost (Fukra Insan) ke muh se aisi cheez aye toh bura lagta hai. But I am quite a chilled person. Koi baat nhi.
