<p>Over the years, fashion may have evolved but one thing that has remained unchanged is the effort to bring art and perspective through creative fashion show setups.</p>

<p>Recently, Prada's Spring Summer '24 men's wear show, which had models walking through slime dripping from the ceiling, made headlines and fashion lovers went gaga over it. Even the name of the show was Fluid Form and the brand's aim was to raise awareness of the body within, and its liberation.&nbsp;</p>
<p>However, this was not the first time that a fashion brand shocked people with its unique set ups. Let us take you through some of the most iconic show set ups created by fashion brands over the years.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Alexander McQueen</strong></p>
<p>In Alexander McQueen's women's autumn/winter 2006 show, a techno-magic was created as white smoke appeared and twisted into the shape of a woman in a white dress. The woman that was created with the help of video art was Kate Moss.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The set up for Thom Browne's women's autumn/winter 2012 show had coffins lying around with models rising from them. The brand had explained that the concept behind was to show that people who love fashion can also die for fashion.</p>
<p><strong>Dior</strong></p>
<p>Dior's women's spring/summer 2014 show was, of course, more than just its clothes as the setup was filled with wildflowers strewn everywhere. This show was conceptualised by Raf Simons and he said, 'The idea was of twisting, turning and pushing Dior; where the lyrically romantic becomes dangerous; a beautiful rose garden becomes poisonous.'</p>
<p><strong>Balenciaga</strong></p>
<p>Balenciaga Summer '23 show was filled with mud and the brand's creative director Demna said that the concept for this setup was to highlight the fact that putting fashion into a box of visually expensive is limited and thus getting dirty in the mud is required. Other than this, the setup metaphorically sent out the message to remain down to earth.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Diesel</strong></p>
<p>Diesel's fall/winter 23 show set up made sure to be unique and moreover sexually protected, as this show had a heap of 200,000 Diesel-branded condoms right at the centre of the runway stage. The theme of the show was pretty obvious and it was about promoting sex positivity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Titled &lsquo;<em>Fluid form</em>&rsquo;, the Prada Spring/Summer '24 Men's collection was designed to question traditional rigid tailoring. "<em>The ultimate aim is a constant awareness of the body within, and its liberation,</em>" Prada said.</p>
<p>The show was presented by Miuccia Prada and creative director Raf Simons in Milan.&nbsp;</p>
<p>During the show, models were seen walking between liquid walls formed by 3,000 kilos of slime that dripped down from the ceiling, forming green puddles. Another highlight of the show was the floor and ceiling that was made of aluminum to create a cage-like structure.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Speaking of the collection, Prada SS24 accessories included glossy shoes styled with the label's huge handbags and round glasses. Prada's colour palette featured calm hues combined with spring-worthy pastels.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the recent past, several celebrities like Harry Styles, Priyanka Chopra, and Selena Gomez, among others hopped onto this viral crochet fashion trend. But it is worth taking a note that crochet has an interesting history which is more than just being a summer staple.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Before we get into the history of crochet, let's get to know how this needlework technique works.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Crochet knitting is a needlework technique that is different from normal wool knitting. In crochet knitting only a single hooked tool is used to interconnect the loops of yarn. This technique gives more room for creating intricate patterns and delicate designs. From open cobweb-like weaves to closely knitted patterns, this technique allows them all.&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>History of Crochet</strong></h3>
<p>Crochet has a brief history but there is no verified source about the origin of this knitting technique. According to some researchers, crochet originated in Arabia and then it spread to other Mediterranean regions.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Some research suggests that this technique came from indigenous tribes in South America. But there is also some research that backs the claim of its origin from Chinese needlework and then this embroidery technique spread to other parts of the world like India, North Africa, Turkey and Persia.&nbsp;</p>
<p>As per some research, it was found that this needlework was spread around in the 1800s in Europe. At that time, Irish Potato Famine took place and crochet became a source of livelihood for Irish men and women.</p>
<p>Soon after this, a major Irish crochet movement took place and several crochet schools were formed to train people in this technique. Later, when the Irish started migrating to Northern America, they spread their popular crochet technique to the region and crochet became a major fashion staple in the US.</p>
<p>And now, cut to 2023, this is the only acceptable form of sweater people like to wear and feel comfortable in during summers. It was even a major highlight of the runway shows at the New York Fashion week spring/summer 2023.</p>
