"Four persons have died. The exact toll will be known only after the rescue operation is completed," said Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Anand Patel.
He said that the immediate focus of the administration is on relief and rescue operations.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel tweeted that the city administration has been instructed to carry out immediate rescue and relief operations at the game zone.
"Instructions have been given to the Municipal Corporation and the administration for immediate rescue and relief operations in the fire incident in the game zone in Rajkot. It has been instructed to prioritise arrangements for immediate treatment of the injured," Patel tweeted.

The fire department has rushed a total of 21 fire tenders to douse the flames.

According to some videos which turned up on social media, the occupants of the building took shelter on the window ledge while escaping the fire.

Among those four admitted to hospital, one is a police personnel, who got wounded during the rescue operation. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said a call about the incident was received at 5.25 pm and 22 fire-tenders were pressed into service.
Police said the fire was preceded by a blast, probably caused by chemicals kept in the factory.
Due to the blast, some nearby houses and shops also caught fire. Some of the injured persons were residing in those places.
The blaze was brought under control by 9 pm, the fire official said, adding that the cooling-off operation is underway.
An officer said a few more people are missing and a search operation is on.
"Teams have been formed to investigate the matter," the officer said.&nbsp;

The two factory owners -- identified as Rajesh Agrawal and Somesh Agrawal -- were arrested from Sarangpur in Rajgarh district, while one more person named Rafiq Khan was detained in the evening, Harda Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kanchan told reporters.
These accused were booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), he said.
Khan was detained for questioning, the SP said without providing further details about him.
However, police sources said Khan is said to be the manager of the factory.
The cause of the explosion was not yet known, officials said earlier.

"Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport at this time, as access remains severely restricted," it added.
Five people, including four firefighters and an airport employee, were admitted to hospital, according to the local ambulance service.
Another person was treated on-site.
The fire broke out at 8:47 pm (1947 GMT) in the airport's newly built car park.

Television footage showed flames rushing over the wedding hall as the fire took hold. In the blaze&rsquo;s aftermath, only charred metal and debris could be seen as people walked through the scene of the fire, the only light coming from television cameras and the lights of onlookers&rsquo; mobile phones.
Survivors arrived at local hospitals, receiving oxygen and bandaged, as their families milled through hallways and outside as workers organized more oxygen cylinders.
The health department in Nineveh province raised the death toll to 114. Health Ministry spokesman Saif al-Badr earlier put the number of injured at 150 via the state-run Iraqi News Agency.
&nbsp;&ldquo;All efforts are being made to provide relief to those affected by the unfortunate accident,&rdquo; al-Badr said.

There was no immediate official word on the cause of the blaze but initial reports by the Kurdish television news channel Rudaw suggested fireworks at the venue may have sparked the fire.
Civil defense officials quoted by the Iraqi News Agency described the wedding hall&rsquo;s exterior as being decorated with highly flammable cladding that were illegal in the country.
&ldquo;The fire led to the collapse of parts of the hall as a result of the use of highly flammable, low-cost building materials that collapse within minutes when the fire breaks out,&rdquo; civil defense said.
