In the statement the historians have alleged that by reducing the study of history to such monolithic accounts, NCERT is attempting to insert politics in education. The group has demanded withdrawal of the decision.&nbsp;

Days after the NCERT dropped certain portions on Mahatma Gandhi from its class 12 history textbook and how his pursuit of Hindu-Muslim unity "provoked Hindu extremists", and on a ban on the RSS, a group of historians has raised concerns over the autonomous body's move.
As per NDTV, the group issued a statement on Friday said they were "appalled" by the NCERT's decision to delete the topics, particularly for Class 12.&nbsp; Romila Thapar, Jayati Gosh, Mridula Mukherjee, Apoorvanada, Irfan Habib and Upinder Singh, among others, have signed the statement.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the NCERT has denied allegations to suppress historical facts, NDTV stated.&nbsp;

<h3>Calcutta Biryani&nbsp;</h3>
Believed to be the brainchild of a famous gourmet who was banished by the British, the Calcutta Biryani is prepared&nbsp;with&nbsp;much milder spices and has&nbsp;a tinge of sweetness. The biryani centrally features potatoes, signifying the&nbsp;erstwhile budget&nbsp;constraints&nbsp;of the banished chef.&nbsp;&nbsp;
<h3>Tahari Biryani&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>
A biryani cooked without meat? Yes, the Tehari or Tahari biryani is made with lots of vegetables. According to fables, this historic biryani was devised to adapt and suit to the local palettes of&nbsp;vegetarian bookkeepers in Mysore&rsquo;s Mughal court.&nbsp;
<h3>Thalassery&nbsp;Biryani&nbsp;&nbsp;</h3>
Possibly&nbsp;developed after&nbsp;Arab seafarers&nbsp;introduced biryani to the Malabar&nbsp;coast, the&nbsp;Thalassery&nbsp;Biryani&nbsp;is made with chicken wings, mild Malabar spices and&nbsp;a type of rice called&nbsp;kaima. Fried cashew nuts, sultana raisins and fennel seeds are&nbsp;used to&nbsp;finish&nbsp;off this biryani.&nbsp;&nbsp;
<h3>Ambur Biryani&nbsp;</h3>
Prepared with a South Indian twist, the Ambur biryani traces its history to the Nawabs of Arcot in the Ambur town of Tamil Nadu.&nbsp;The Ambur and Arcot biryani are closely related and are served with a brinjal curry and&nbsp;a&nbsp;pachadi&nbsp;raita on the side.&nbsp;&nbsp;
