Around 1,000 cameras with facial recognition and video analytic systems have been installed in and around the Mughal-era fort and at other strategic locations to ensure security and monitor VVIP movements, the police said on Tuesday.
The Gyan Path in front of Red Fort will be decked with flowers and G20 signages. However, there will be no major decorations on the fort's rampart from where the prime minister addresses the nation.
The government has invited around 1,800 special guests from across the country to attend the programme. Seventy-five couples from each state and Union Territory, in their traditional attire, have been invited to witness the ceremony. Sarpanches of vibrant villages, nurses, fisherfolk and labourers engaged in the construction of the Central Vista project are also among the special invitees.

There is a view that the prime minister may choose to chart the country's journey on his watch in various sectors since 2014 and outline his vision for the years ahead, something he has done in previous addresses as well.
Experts will also be looking for political messages in the address. Modi has mostly refrained from launching any direct political attack on opposition parties in his Independence Day addresses but has often stressed on the governance changes his dispensation has ushered in after a spell of "corruption" and policy paralysis.
India's rising global stature, new energy and purpose in pushing forward the country's development journey and increasing self-confidence of its population have been among the key themes of his speeches that have also highlighted the country's embrace of firm security and foreign policy doctrines guided solely by the national interest.
Since his first Independence Day speech from the ramparts of Red Fort in 2014, when he had announced a host of new programmes such as Swachh Bharat and Jan Dhan accounts, Modi has made key announcements on the milestone day and sought to engage with citizens on a range of issues, including social ills like crimes against women and social conflicts.
'Panch Pran' (five pledges) was the main highlight of his speech in 2022, as he called upon people to make India a developed nation by 2047, remove any trace of the colonial mindset, take pride in our legacy, boost the strength of unity and fulfil the duties of citizens with honesty.
While he has often highlighted how he has taken up grassroots issues, such as the government's push to build toilets for poor households to end open defecation, despite drawing smirks from his critics for focussing on "small" matters, it has not stopped him from outlining his grander themes for the country, be it mega infra push worth Rs 100 lakh crore through Gati Shakti project, nationwide electrification or modernisation of defence forces, in the yearly addresses.
Going by precedent, he may also announce some important schemes. In 2018 ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Modi unveiled the ambitious health insurance scheme for the poor, Ayushman Bharat.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday said that possible penalties for the violation of the ban on Chinese Manjha are five years in prison and a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh.
The Delhi government has directed Delhi Production Control Committee (DPCC) to strictly implement the ban on sale, production, storage, supply, and import of Chinese Manjha in Delhi during the upcoming festive season, a government statement read. The officials of revenue, wildlife, police and municipal corporations have also been directed to take punitive action against any violations of the ban.

The first Flag was hoisted on August 7th, 1906 in the Parsee Bagan Square in Calcutta (now Kolkata). The second Flag was very similar to the first flag but the top band had seven stars denoting the Saptarishi. This flag was hoisted in&nbsp;Paris by Madame Cama and exiled revolutionaries in 1907.&nbsp;
The third Flag was hoisted in 1917 by Dr Annie Besant and Lokmanya Tilak during the Home rule movement. The flag constituted of&nbsp;five red and four green horizontal stripes with seven stars in Saptarishi formation.&nbsp;
The fourth Flag was adopted in 1921 and comprised of two colours- red and green- representing the Hindu and Muslim communities.&nbsp;Mahatama Gandhi added the white stripe representing the rest of the communities and the spinning wheel as a mark of the nation's progress.&nbsp;
The fifth Flag was initially the battle ensign of the Indian National Army. In 1931, a resolution was passed for the adoption of the tricolour as&nbsp;the National Flag. The flag featured stripes of saffron, white and green with Mahatama Gandhi's spinning wheel at the center.&nbsp;
The sixth flag was similar to the one designed in 1931, except the Dharma Charkha of Emperor Ashoka replaced the spinning wheel. On July 22, 1947, it was adopted as the Free India National Flag. This variation of the flag is how we know our National Flag today.&nbsp;

Simplicity of the &lsquo;50s
Consumed by the fresh scent of freedom, the 1950s had a strong flavour of patriotism. The hand-spun khadi symbolised the swadeshi movement. Cloth sarees draped in different styles or simple salwar suits dominated the scene.
The fashion was largely functional and hints of European influences, especially in menswear, could also be observed. Women like Maharani Gayatri Devi, and Hindi cinema&rsquo;s Nargis, Nutan, Suraiya and Meena Kumari were the fashion icons of this era.
Colourful spirit of the &lsquo;60s
The 1960s was the decade that brought us Madhubala&rsquo;s Anarkali suit and the tiered orange saree on Mumtaz. Moving into a new decade, women&rsquo;s clothing became more fashionable and everyone embraced bright colours and prints.&nbsp;
With body-hugging churidar suits, shorter blouses and a hint of skin on display, the &lsquo;60s were also big on embracing curves. Not to forget, the poufy hairdos, winged eyeliner and the uber-popular Sadhna cut were also from this decade.
Hippie trippy vibe of the &lsquo;70s
Dubbed the &lsquo;decade of decadence&rsquo;, the 1970s were huge for fashion. The decade gave us Dimple Kapadia's iconic polka-dotted blouse in Bobby, Zeenat Aman's hippie look from Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Parveen Babi&rsquo;s scant bikini and Helen&rsquo;s iconic Cabaret feathers. Bell-bottoms, cropped shirts, oversized glasses, platform heels and polka dots were just some of the most memorable trends from this era.
Vivid creativity of the &lsquo;80s
The 1980s were all about the over the top (or OTT) vibe. Blingy ornamentation, big shoulder pads, gaudy colours, metallics, unruly hair and leg warmers &ndash; there was a lot happening in this decade. But this decade also birthed the first generation of Indian fashion designers like Rohit Khosla and Satya Paul.
Bhanu Athaiya won India&rsquo;s first and only Oscar for costume design in 1983 and the National Institute of Fashion Technology was set up in 1986. In Bollywood, Sri Devi and Rekha were the heroines leading the fashion scene.

Cool girls &amp; boys of the &lsquo;90s
The decade that birthed Indipop stars like Alisha Chinai and cult films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dil Toh Pagal Hai, the 1990s created trends that are still big today. From denim shirts, crop tops, chokers, co-ordinates and overalls to chiffon sarees and oversized shirts, we saw it all in the &lsquo;90s. And leading ladies like Karisma Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Kajol, often styled by Manish Malhotra, became the style icons of this period.
Fashion forward face of the &lsquo;00s
The aughts or the 2000s saw many international fashion brands opening up stores in India. Sporting the latest styles and trends was no longer limited to people who had connections abroad. Following in her sister&rsquo;s footsteps, Kareena Kapoor warmed things up with characters like Poo and Jab We Met&rsquo;s Geet.
Super-fitted pieces like tube tops and micro-minis as well as desi fusion outfits defined this overtly sexy&nbsp;decade.
Comfortable mood of the &lsquo;10s
Moving on to the most recent period, the 2010s gave us social media and influencers! We slowly said goodbye to super sexy clothes and welcomed athleisure with open arms. The focus shifted away from celebrity trends and street style gained more steam.
Micro bags, sheer tops, oversized sweatshirts and cycling shorts were the viral trends from the period. Bloggers and Instagram-famous supermodels were the biggest trendsetters.
As the last decade comes to a close amidst a full-blown pandemic, the focus remains on comfort and clothes that look good on social media. The next decade in fashion is poised to be more inclusive and focussed on technological advancements such as smart fabrics and digital-only clothes.

Independence Day 2021:&nbsp;Every&nbsp;Independence Day, with hearts full of pride and patriotism, Indians like to take a trip down the historical lane and celebrate numerous freedom fighters. To give recognition to these heroes&nbsp;many&nbsp;movies have been created and books been written on male freedom fighters,&nbsp;like&nbsp;Bhagat&nbsp;Singh,&nbsp;Chandrashekhar&nbsp;Azad&nbsp;and&nbsp;Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, but in comparison, there are not as many dedications towards&nbsp;their female counterparts.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Innumerable women freedom fighters were an active part of the independence&nbsp;struggle,&nbsp;but they have long been omitted from popular historic narratives.&nbsp;Here&rsquo;s celebrating the undaunted spirit of some of the unsung and forgotten women who played a significant role in India&rsquo;s independence but have sadly faded into oblivion.
Tara Rani Srivastava
Tara Rani Srivastava, who was born in Saran, Bihar, actively participated with her husband Phulendu Babu in the Quit India Movement. During one of the demonstrations, they managed to gather a crowd outside the Siwan Police station to hoist the Indian flag. Even when Phulendu was shot, Tara Rani bandaged his wounds and continued to march undeterred and with undaunting courage.
Captain Lakshmi Sahgal
Captain Lakshmi Sahgal was born in Madras and shall forever be remembered as an ardent freedom fighter. She was an officer of the Indian National Army (INA) and played a key role in the establishment of a women&rsquo;s regiment known as the Rani of Jhansi Regiment.
Rajkumari Gupta
Rajkumari Gupta was born in Kanpur and went on to work in close association with Chandrashekhar Azad. She played a key role in the Kakori dacoity, as she was the one who helped supply guns, revolvers and even messages.
Matangini Hazra
Matangini Hazra was born in a village named Hogla, near Tamluk in West Bengal. She was an active participant in both the Quit India Movement and the Non-Cooperation Movement. During one of the incidents, she continued to march even after having been shot. The braveheart continued to show undeterred courage and determination through all odds.
All these women and many such more were filled with the hope of freedom and socio-economic emancipation. With no greed for fame or recognition, they continued to fight against the great political odds faced by India during the British Raj. Even after 75 years of Independence, their efforts shall continue to kindle respect and pride in our hearts for years to come. &nbsp;

Indian men's hockey team may have clinched their first Olympic medal in 41 years at the Tokyo Games, but this were different till 1980. India was a force to reckon with and there was hardly a team that could challenge the heroes then. Calling it a golden age of Indian hockey won't be wrong as India won its first Olympic Gold in 1928, and until&nbsp;1960, the Indian men's team remained unbeaten at the Games, winning 6 gold medals in a row.&nbsp;India sweat away 2 more Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals from there on till the 1980 Olympics.&nbsp;
Leander Paes Bronze in 1996
From there on, It was a long dry spell as India had to wait for 16 years for an Olympic medal. Ace tennis star Leander Paes's&nbsp;Bronze at the Atlanta Games not only ended that poor run but it was also India's&nbsp;first individual Olympic medal in 44 years. What made it sweater was the fact that Paes was knocked out in the first round of the men's singles event in the previous edition.&nbsp;
Abhinav Bindra Gold in 2008
Though Paes&nbsp;couldn't compete for Gold after losing in the semis, shooter&nbsp;Abhinav&nbsp;Bindra&nbsp;made sure he bagged the biggest prize of the prestigious tournament 12 years later in Beijing. By shooting a 10.8 on his last shot in the men's 10m air rifle final, he then became the first individual Indian athlete to win gold at the Olympics.&nbsp;The shooter had missed a near second Olympic medal at the Rio Olympics, which proved to be his last Games.

During the same very Olympics, wrestler Sushil&nbsp;Kumar became a rage in Indian sports. He&nbsp;burst on to the scene with a Bronze at the Beijing Olympics and then backed it up with a Silver medal, 4 years later at the London Games. He had then&nbsp;become the first Indian athlete to win 2 Olympic medals in an individual event.&nbsp;
PV Sindhu 2 Olympic medals
Sushil&nbsp;was the lone Indian in that club for 9 years&nbsp;until PV Sindhu&nbsp;joined him. The Indian shuttler emerged through the shadows of Saina Nehwal and to many people's surprise, went on to clinch a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Every free nation in the world has its own flag, a symbol of pride for any country. The National Flag of India was adopted in its present form during the meeting of the Constituent Assembly held on 22 July 1947, a few days before India's independence.

Indians across the nation will be celebrating the 75th Independence Day on August 15. But before hoisting the Tiranga, make yourself aware about the Flag Code of India&nbsp;based on the 26th January 2002 legislation.
According to the previous Flag Code of India, citizens of the country did not have the right to hoist the Indian Flag except on some important days such as Republic day, Independence day and on Mahatma Gandhi&rsquo;s birthday. However, on 26th January 2002, the Flag Code was changed, giving Indians the freedom to proudly display the National Flag anywhere and at any time.
The credit for giving this right to citizens of the country goes to well-known businessman and Congress leader Naveen Jindal. He fought a legal battle that began in the year 1992, and finally saw it come to fruition&nbsp;on 22 December 2002, after running the case in court for 10 years.
Being a national symbol, the Indian National Flag should be respected by every Indian and its hoisting must be done in a manner as mandated by the law. Failure to adhere to these rules and regulations could be construed as disrespect, leading to even some prison time.&nbsp;

<li>The flag should always be made of cotton, silk or khadi&nbsp;and the use of plastic flags is strictly prohibited</li>
<li>The flag should always be of rectangular shape, with a ratio of 3:2</li>
<li>The Ashoka Chakra must have 24 spokes</li>
<li>It is forbidden to write or draw anything on the National Flag</li>
<li>The tricolor should never touch&nbsp;the ground</li>
<li>You cannot raise or keep any other flag higher than the National Flag</li>
<li>You cannot wear the flag below the waist, nor can you use the tricolour as any kind of uniform or decoration</li>
<li>Under no circumstances should the flag hoisted be cut, torn, dirty or damaged</li>
<li>If the flag is placed on an officer's vehicle, it should be placed in the centre towards the front or on the right side of the car</li>
<li>The flag should be raised from sunrise to sunset, after which it should be lowered respectfully</li>
<li>The National Flag can be hoisted&nbsp;at night after an amendment made in the year 2009&nbsp;</li>
<li>The flag remains at half-mast only on a National occasion</li>
<li>The martyrs who gave their lives for the country are wrapped in the tricolour. During this, the saffron band should be towards the head and the green band towards the&nbsp;feet. After cremating&nbsp;or burying the dead body, the flag should also be burned or buried</li>

The alcohol that many Indians can recall as their first drink, Old Monk&nbsp;Rum&rsquo;s origin story can be dated back&nbsp;to&nbsp;1855 in British&nbsp;India. Mohan Meakin, the rum&rsquo;s producer&nbsp;started what is believed to be Asia&rsquo;s first brewery in Kasauli,&nbsp;to serve British drinking needs.
