Although in India, women are working in every field, there are women even today, who do not step out of the house even once in a day. This has been revealed by the study &lsquo;Gender gap in mobility outside home in urban India&rsquo; published in Science Direct's journal Travel Behavior and Society. According to this, almost half of the women in urban India do not step out of the house even once a day. &nbsp;
The study was done on 84,207 women and 88,914 men, where it was revealed that only 47% women step out of their houses on a normal day, that is, 53% women are the ones who don&rsquo;t. Whereas 87% of men go out of house on a normal day.&nbsp;
The study also revealed that women generally need a solid reason to go out whereas, men do not need reasons as such. It was observed that 81% of women who are students or are working, step out of their house once a day. On the other hand, only 30% of stay at home women go out of the house and 70% of those women do not go out of the house even once a day.&nbsp;

India needed 41 runs from 34 balls with 6 wickets in hand and yet, the Women in Blue ended up on the losing side.

The dream is over! India crashed out of the Women's T20 World Cup with a 5-run defeat against the reigning Champions, Australia. Heartbreaks at ICC events have become commonplace for the Women in Blue, who continue to chase the elusive dream of an ICC trophy. In 2017, they failed right at the final hurdle against hosts England in the ODI World Cup. In fact, they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, losing their last 7 wickets for just 28 to fall short by 9 runs. At the 2020 T20 World Cup, they surrendered to the Aussie onslaught. Chasing a massive 185-run target, the team was shot out for 99. Cut to 2022, Mithali Raj's team failed to even qualify for the knockouts at the ODI World Cup in New Zealand. While they did manage to reach the final of the Commonwealth Games months later, they succumbed to pressure yet again. Chasing 162 for victory, India were cruising at 118/2, only to lose their final 8 wickets for just 34 runs, with Australia taking the Gold.
And in Cape Town on Thursday, when Indian fans were hoping &amp; praying for a different outcome this time around, the Women in Blue faltered. The Women's T20 World Cup starts on February 10 and Australia's dominance in the format cannot be overlooked.
Such has been their hegemony that the Australian women's team have lifted the title a record 5 out of 7 times. To add to that, they also won the first-ever Commonwealth Games Gold in T20 cricket last year.
The Aussies have been invincible in the format since their triumph at the 2020 T20 World Cup at home. In the last 22 months, they have lost a solitary game in the format and that too came in a Super Over against India.
Teams like India, England &amp; South Africa have the pedigree to challenge the Great Australian dominance at the World Cup, they have the personnel to thwart the Australian aggression, but taking down this Aussie side will be one hell of a feat, for the Women in Gold &amp; Green just don't know what losses feel like.

For the first time in the history of cricket, all the match officials at a Women's World Cup will all be women.

In a first for cricket, the ICC on Friday named an all-female panel of match officials, including the Indian trio of GS Lakshmi, Vrinda Rathi and Janani Narayanan, for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa.
Three match referees and 10 umpires make up the 13-woman team. It's a landmark moment for the ICC and its ambition of advancing the involvement and visibility of women in cricket.
India's Rathi and Janani, who earlier this month became the first female umpires to officiate in the Ranji Trophy, will be umpiring at a T20 World Cup for the first time.

India's Deepti Sharma has climbed up to the second spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings for bowlers.
Deepti, who has 737 rating points, has World No. 1 Sophie Ecclestone in sight, who's now only 26 points ahead of the Indian star.
Deepti's rise comes after her exploits in the ongoing tri-series against South Africa &amp; the West Indies. The 25-year-old is the highest wicket-taker with 9 wickets so far.
She also continues to occupy the second spot in the all-rounder rankings, behind Australia's Ashleigh Gardner in first.

Mandhana, who won the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year Award in 2021, has been nominated alongside Pakistani all-rounder Nida Dar, New Zealand captain Sophie Devine and hard-hitting Aussie all-rounder Tahlia McGrath.
Apart from Mandhana, there are other Indians who are in the running for ICC Awards, with pacer Renuka Thakur &amp; Yastika Bhatia among the candidates for the ICC Women's Emerging Player of the Year award.&nbsp;
Thakur &amp; Bhatia will battle it out for the prize with Australian quick Darcie Brown and English all-rounder Alice Capsey.

BCCI have announced the Indian squad for the Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa.
The Women in Blue have made two changes to the squad that lost 1-4 to Australia recently.
Pacer Shikha Pandey returns to the side, with Meghna Singh dropping into the reserves.
All-rounder Pooja Vastrakar is also part of the squad but her availability is subject to fitness. Sabbhineni Meghna &amp; Sneh Rana though have been included as reserves.
Meanwhile, Newcomers Devika Vaidya &amp; Anjali Sarvani have been rewarded for their performances against Australia and will be on the plane to South Africa.

Meanwhile, Tahlia McGrath has displaced compatriot Beth Mooney to top the women's rankings. The 27-year-old Australian has registered unbeaten scores of 40 and 70 in the ongoing series.
India's Shafali Verma has gained a spot and is currently 6th in the standings, with Jemimah Rodrigues in 9th position.

Women's Asia Cup: India thrash Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in final to lift 7th title

India are champions!
The Women in Blue were just too good for the Lankans on the day, winning a record 7th Asia Cup title in one of the most one-sided finals ever.

India's Renuka Singh picked up the Player of the Match award for her figures of 3/5 that helped India restrict Sri Lanka to just 65/9.

It was a walk in the park!
The Indian women's cricket team sealed their supremacy in the sub-continent with their 7th Asia Cup title, defeating Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in a one-sided finale in Sylhet.
Having been asked to bowl first after losing the toss, the Indians made Sri Lanka pay dearly with Renuka Singh the destructor-in-chief.
Some abysmal running between the wickets, along with Renuka's 3-fer had Sri Lanka on the mat early on. The Islanders just kept losing wickets, finishing with a paltry 65/9 from their 20 overs.
In reply, India hardly broke a sweat with Smriti Mandhana recording yet another quickfire fifty to take the Women in Blue past the finishing line in just the 9th over.
With the victory, India lifted their 7th Asia Cup title from 8 editions, with 2018 being the only time they failed to win the trophy.
