After three weeks in theatres, &lsquo;It Ends With Us&rsquo;, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover&rsquo;s bestselling novel, has become a box office hit, but the drama surrounding the rift between co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni might impact the film's sequel.
With the first film earning over $200 million globally, it's expected that the producers are eager to begin work on the follow-up. But, according to a Variety report, the rumoured tension between Justin and Blake&mdash;both actors and co-producers on the film&mdash;persists and could affect the sequel.
The sequel to It Ends With Us has its story laid out in Colleen Hoover&rsquo;s 2022 bestseller It Starts With Us, which continues the narrative from her 2016 book that inspired the film starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Set a few months after the events of the first film, the sequel features a smaller role for Justin's character, Ryle. Despite this, his production company, Wayfarer Studios, holds the rights to both books.
Justin, who directed the first film, is open to stepping back from directing the sequel.
He mentioned to Entertainment Tonight at the film's premiere, &lsquo;I think there are better people for that. I think Blake Lively&rsquo;s ready to direct.&rsquo;
If Blake does take on the directing role&mdash;having previously directed Taylor Swift&rsquo;s 2022 music video I Bet You Think About Me&mdash;she will need to negotiate with Justin, who, as a leading producer, holds the rights to the adaptations.

He begins by mentioning Colleen Hoover&rsquo;s name and goes on to add &lsquo;women of this cast&rsquo; stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves. Despite Blake clearly being on the forefront of the big drama, he refrains from naming her and only names the writer of the book, on which their film is based. Brandon writes that vilifying the women detracts from what the film is about. Interestingly he writes, &ldquo;What may or may not have happened behind the scenes does not and hopefully should not detract from what our intentions were in making this film.&rdquo; So, basically he is not saying that nothing happened behind the scenes. &nbsp;
He goes on to explain the message of the film, something that Blake Lively is accused of not understanding or communicating in her press interviews. He concludes that note by advising netizens to ask themselves who is their hate helping or whether it is based on any fact. &nbsp; Brandon Sklenar is the first cast member to openly address the drama, however, he doesn&rsquo;t seem too confident. The actor has turned off the comments on this particular post while other posts still allow netizens to comment which clearly shows that he is aware of the mood on the internet.

Lily soon realizes there's nothing she can do to fix their toxic relationship as Ryle continues to lose his temper. Despite his apologies, it becomes clear they lack true compatibility. The film's narrative unfolds as the couple navigates their contrasting personalities, facing misunderstandings, miscommunication, insecurity, and heartbreak.
Netizens went berserk reacting to the viral trailer. One user commented, "15 seconds is all it takes. I still remember reading this and it blew my mind; I cried like a baby."
