<p>Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has received fresh summons from Enforcement Directorate in connection with the money laundering case. The actor will be questioned on Wednesday afternoon in the case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Jacqueline&rsquo;s alleged involvement&nbsp;</h2>
<p>Jacqueline Fernandez is accused in the money laundering case and has been questioned multiple times by the probe agency. She is accused of enjoying and being in possession of proceeds of Sukesh Chandrasekhar&rsquo;s crime as the two allegedly were in a relationship. However, the actor has denied any relationship with Sukesh Chandrasekhar even though he continues to write love letters to the actor on various occasions. Sukesh Chandrasekhar has been lodged in jail in connection with Rs 200 crore extortion case in Delhi&rsquo;s Mandoli jail. &nbsp;</p>
<h2>Jacqueline filed case against Sukesh&nbsp;</h2>
<p>Earlier in February this year, Jacqueline approached court alleging harassment by Sukesh Chandrasekhar. She accused him of using the media to defame her image and urged the court to file a case against him, only to withdraw her petition later. &nbsp;</p>
<h2>Allegation against Jacqueline Fernandez&nbsp;</h2>
<p>In an affidavit, ED told the Delhi High Court that the Bollywood beauty was in possession of the proceeds of Sukesh&rsquo;s crime. The ED affidavit was in response to the actor&rsquo;s petition seeking quashing of an FIR against her in the money laundering case. &nbsp;</p>
<p>ED also claimed that the actor did not reveal the details of her financial transactions with Sukesh. The central agency accused her of tampering with the evidence, alleging that she wiped out the entire data from her mobile phone after Sukesh&rsquo;s arrest. &nbsp;</p>

The Bollywood actor also wrote a letter to Police Chief Sanjay Arora, expressing her concern about flaws in the witness protection system. Last year in December, Fernandez also approached a Delhi court, seeking an urgent ban on Sukesh Chandrashekhar contacting her through letters or media statements. In her plea, she highlighted that 'troubling letters' from Sukesh intimidate her.&nbsp;</p>

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Locals indicated that the fire started in a kitchen on the building's 13th floor. Fernandez's residence, reportedly a luxurious 5 BHK apartment, was among those affected by the incident.</p>
<p>&lsquo;The fire broke out in the residential building situated on Nargis Dutt Road at around 8 PM,&rsquo; a civic official was quoted as saying by PTI.</p>

<p>Actor Jacqueline Fernandez has filed a complaint against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekar, accusing him of harassment from inside a jail. According to The Indian Express, Jacqueline filed the case with Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and also sent a letter to the Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch). A specialized unit has been tasked with launching a preliminary inquiry into the matter.</p>
<p>In her recent letter addressed to the police chief with the subject line &lsquo;Systemic Failure in Prosecution Witness Protection,&rsquo; Jacqueline stated: &lsquo;I am responsible citizen, who has found herself inadvertently embroiled in a case that has far-reaching implications for the rule of law and the sanctity of our judicial system. As a prosecution witness in a case registered by the special cell, I write to you amidst a harrowing ordeal of psychological pressure and targeted intimidation campaigns. A man identifying himself as Sukesh is an accused, sitting behind bars in Mandoli Jail, and threatening her with intimidating tactics in open public domain. (sic)&rsquo;</p>
<p>Jacqueline has appealed to the police commissioner for immediate intervention, citing threats to her safety and the integrity of legal proceedings. She urged the registration of an FIR under IPC sections to secure her protection as a prosecution witness in a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).</p>
<p>&lsquo;These actions do not merely impinge upon my individual rights; they strike at the heart of our justice system. The principle of witness protection, which is fundamental to the administration of justice, has been compromised, undermining the credibility and efficacy of our legal institutions. It is imperative that all communication channels available to the accused be scrutinised and stringent measures be implemented to prevent further abuse, (sic)&rsquo; she said.</p>
<h3>About the case</h3>
<p>In December of last year, Jacqueline petitioned a Delhi court seeking orders to prevent Sukesh from contacting her via letters, messages, or statements. She is a witness in the FIR under investigation by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), involving a ₹200 crore money laundering and extortion case associated with Sukesh.</p>

'It is also a fact that Fernandez wiped out the entire data from her mobile phone after the arrest of Chandrasekhar, thereby tampering with the evidence. She also asked her colleagues to destroy the evidence,' ED said.

<p>Actor Jacqueline Fernandez, accused in a ₹200-crore money laundering case, knowingly used the proceeds of crime linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed Delhi High Court.</p>
<p>This statement was presented in response to Fernandez's plea for quashing the FIR in the Delhi HC.</p>
<p>The Enforcement Directorate asserted that Jacqueline Fernandez consistently concealed the truth about financial transactions with Sukesh Chandrasekhar, only revealing facts when confronted with evidence.</p>
<p>&lsquo;She continues to hold back the truth even till date. It is also a fact that Fernandez wiped out the entire data from her mobile phone after the arrest of Chandrasekhar, thereby tampering with the evidence. She also asked her colleagues to destroy the evidence. Evidence proves beyond doubt that she had been enjoying, using and is in possession of proceeds of crime. Thus, it is proved that Fernandez was knowingly involved in the possession and use of proceeds of crime of accused Chandrasekhar,&rsquo; it said.</p>
<p>Initially, in her statements, the actor attempted to portray herself as a victim of Chandrasekhar, but the agency stated that during the investigation, she failed to provide substantial evidence to support her claim of victimization by him.</p>
<p>The ED stated that Jacqueline Fernandez, despite being aware of Chandrasekhar's criminal background, continued to receive, enjoy, and possess proceeds of crime for herself and her family. Initially, Fernandez did not acknowledge receiving substantial sums of money and valuable gifts from him for her family in India and abroad, with the ED asserting that these luxurious items were generated as proceeds of crime from criminal activities.</p>
<p>Ms Fernandez said in her plea, &lsquo;At the outset it is submitted that evidence filed by the ED would prove that the petitioner (Fernandez) is an innocent victim of Chandrasekhar's maliciously targeted attack. There is absolutely no indication that she had any involvement whatsoever in aiding him to launder his purportedly ill-gotten wealth. Hence, she cannot be prosecuted for the offences under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.&rsquo;</p>
<p>It said the prosecution complaint filed against her confirmed that nowhere it has been alleged that she knew about the nefarious activities of Chandrasekhar in extorting money from complainant Aditi Singh.</p>
<p>The matter was listed before Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri and the counsel representing Ms Fernandez sought time to file a rejoinder in response to the ED's affidavit.</p>
<p>The high court listed the matter for further hearing on April 15.</p>

<p>Fernandez claims being deceived by Sukesh and Aditi Singh, both under scrutiny in the case.</p>
<p>&lsquo;The petitioner is an innocent victim of Sukesh Chandrasekhar&rsquo;s maliciously targeted attack. There is absolutely no indication that she had any involvement whatsoever in aiding him to launder his purportedly ill-gotten wealth. Hence she cannot be prosecuted&hellip; under the prevention of money laundering Act,&rsquo; the petition read as quoted by NDTV.</p>
<p>The plea also stated that she instead was presented as a prosecution witness in the EOW case.</p>
<p>&lsquo;Throughout their interactions, the main accused consistently presented himself as a free individual. The Petitioner had no way of knowing that the main accused was actually incarcerated, as his conduct always resembled that of a person at liberty,&rsquo; the plea added.</p>
<p>Fernandez, a co-accused in the ED's case, is listed as a witness in the Delhi Police's extortion case.</p>

<p>A relief for actor Jacqueline Fernandez in the ₹200 crore fraud case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The Patiala House Court in Delhi on Friday allowed Jacqueline to travel to Dubai from January 27 until January 30.&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to Times Now, the court gave her permission to catch the flight after taking note of her statement that it was a professional commitment.</p>
<p>Jacqueline Fernandez will be attending a conference by PepsiCo in Dubai. She is scheduled to perform at the event, and if she fails to show up, the organisers may take legal action against her, the Patiala House Court was told.</p>
<p>The plea was opposed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which said Jacqueline Fernandez had not put forth any contractual obligations on record. However, the court decided to let her travel to Dubai.</p>
<p>Last month, Fernandez withdrew her application seeking permission to travel to Bahrain to meet her parents after a Delhi court and the ED objected to the plea.</p>

<p>As per ETimes report, Sukesh said, 'Today Nora talks about me promising her a house, but she already has taken a large amount from me to purchase a house for her family in Casablanca, Morocco, all these new stories are crafted by her to escape law after ED statement 9 months ago given by her.'</p>
<p>'Nora claims that she did not want a car, or she did not take it for herself is a very big lie, as she was after my life that her car had to be changed, as the 'CLA' that she had looked very cheap, so then me and her selected car I gave her, and the chats and screenshots are very well with the ED, so there is no lie at all, in fact I wanted to give her Range rover, but as the car was not available in stock she wanted in urgent, I gave her the BMW S series, which she kept using for a long time, as she was a non- Indian, she asked me to register it on the name of her best friend&rsquo;s husband Bobby's name. Me and Nora never had a professional transaction, as she is claiming except for once that she attended an event hosted by my concern foundation, for which official payment was made to her agency,' he concluded.</p>
<p>Earlier, Nora, in a statement submitted to the court, mentioned that Sukesh had promised her 'a big house and a luxurious lifestyle' if she agreed to be his girlfriend. Nora said that the alleged conman &lsquo;sought undue favour from her&rsquo; via his close aide Pinky Irani.</p>
<p>Actor Jacqueline Fernandez was also named as an accused in a Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.</p>

<p>Now, as per news agency ANI, Sukesh has claimed that he was in a relationship with Jacqueline and Nora was jealous of her. In a statement, Sukesh said Nora used to call him 10 times a day seeking favour, while he started dating Jacqueline.</p>

<p>&lsquo;Ask her to produce one bill of Hermes bags that she has, she can never produce as she does not have. The bags are worth more than ₹2 crore,&rsquo; the statement said.</p>
<p>Sukesh in his statement stated that he respects all women and therefore won't put out screenshots of chats to assassinate their character. <p>&lsquo;Sukesh Chandrashekhar misled me, ruined my career and my livelihood,&rsquo; Jacqueline Fernandez said in her statement.</p>

<p>Actor Jacqueline Fernandez, who was named as an accused in Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, has now turned witness in the case along with actor Nora Fatehi, the third supplementary chargesheet filed in the matter has revealed.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/jacqueline-fernandez-s-lawyer-denies-receiving-copy-of-defamation-suit-filed-by-nora-fatehi-1670913790906">Jacqueline</a> recently appeared before Delhi&rsquo;s Patiala House Court to record her statement and said that &lsquo;her entire life was destroyed&rsquo; by Chandrashekhar who &lsquo;duped&rsquo; her.</p>

<p>As per Times Now report, the &lsquo;Ram Setu&rsquo; actor alleged that Sukesh introduced himself as the owner of Sun TV and claimed late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was his aunt. She also admitted to receiving gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar - five luxurious watches, one massage chair, 20 pieces of expensive designer jewellery, 47 pieces of clothing, four expensive Hermes bags and nine paintings.</p>
<p>Actor Nora Fatehi also recorded her statement in the court recently and said that she was invited to attend an event in Chennai hosted by Chandrashekhar&rsquo;s wife, actor Leena Maria. She was asked to be the chief guest at the event, judge a dance competition and hand out an envelope containing money to disabled children.</p>
<p>Following the event, Chandrashekhar spoke to her over the phone with an &lsquo;international accent&rsquo; and offered a car as a &lsquo;thank you token&rsquo;. She refused as they had already gifted boxes consisting of an iPhone and Gucci bag.</p>
<p>Nora claimed the accused persons kept pestering her with the car, but she instead offered to promote their event free of cost since &lsquo;they were generous&rsquo;.</p>
<p>In her statement, Nora Fatehi also alleged that Chandrashekhar wanted to finance her &lsquo;entire life, family, career&rsquo; in exchange for her &lsquo;to be his girlfriend&rsquo;.</p>
<p>Sukesh Chandrashekhar&rsquo;s lawyer Anant Malik has denied all allegations stating that his client was innocent.</p>

<p>Actor Jacqueline Fernandez, who is being probed in a money laundering case, moved court on Monday seeking permission to travel abroad for professional commitments. A Delhi court has sought response from the Enforcement Directorate on the actor&rsquo;s fresh plea by January 25.</p>
<p>Jacqueline has to travel to Dubai in the last week of the month for a professional work. Earlier, Jacqueline had withdrawn her plea from court in which she sought permission to go abroad to meet her family members, after the judge suggested that &lsquo;let the question of charge first be decided&rsquo;.</p>
<p>Jacqueline Fernandez appeared before the court in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case also involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. She was granted regular bail in the case on November 15, 2022.</p>
<p>The judge had on August 31 taken cognizance of a supplementary charge sheet filed by the ED and asked the actor to appear before the court.</p>
<p>Jacqueline has been summoned by the ED multiple times in connection with the probe.<br>The ED&rsquo;s earlier charge sheet and a supplementary charge sheet did not mention her as an accused. However, the documents had mentioned the details of the statements recorded by Jacqueline and fellow actor Nora Fatehi.</p>
