In the video, the judge wrote a text that read, "Finally getting lunch and realizing I gave a guy life in prison without parole because I was hangry."

The Court of Appeals judge was barred after she refused to undergo medical testing amid concerns that she is no longer mentally fit to serve on the bench.
A panel determined Newman showed signs of paranoia, anger and hostility.
Newman insists that she remains physically and mentally fit to decide matters of the law, and has accused her colleagues of making baseless claims in an effort to push her out because of her age.

In a significant development, the Supreme Court on Monday advanced to February 7 the hearing on a plea challenging the appointment of lawyer Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri as a judge of the Madras High Court, soon after the Centre notified her judgeship.
The apex court had earlier in the day agreed to hear on February 10 the petition against her elevation but the matter was mentioned again and the hearing was fixed for Tuesday by a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud which said the collegium has taken note of &ldquo;certain developments&rdquo; after her name was recommended to the Centre.
During the second mention, the bench was apprised by senior advocate Raju Ramachandran that the Centre has notified the appointment of Gowri as an additional judge of the Madras High Court and urged for urgent intervention.

Singh's father immigrated to the US in the early 1970s.

"It's a really big moment for the Sikh community," Sandill said.
"When they see someone of colour, someone a little different, they know that possibility is available to them. Manpreet is not only an ambassador for Sikhs, but she's an ambassador for all women of colour," he said.
There are an estimated 500,000 Sikhs in the US, with 20,000 Sikhs living in the Houston area.

Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar who had ordered the video survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi informed the Uttar Pradesh authorities on Tuesday that he had received a hand-written threat letter.
In a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Director General of Police (DGP) and the Varanasi Police Commissionerate, Diwakar said he received the letter, purportedly written by Kashif Ahmed Siddiqui on behalf of the Islamic Aagaz Movement, via registered post.
Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh confirmed the receipt of the letter by the judge.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Varuna is probing the matter, Ganesh said.
A total of nine police personnel have been deployed for the security of the judge, the police officer said.
A purported copy of the letter has gone viral on social media.
According to the purported letter addressed to the judge, "You have made a statement that inspection of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex is a normal process. You are an idol worshipper, you will declare the mosque a temple. No Muslim can expect a right decision from a 'kafir, murtipujak' Hindu judge." On April 26, Civil Judge (Senior Division) Diwakar had ordered a videography survey of the Gyanvapi complex. The report of the survey was presented in the court on May 19.
The Hindu side has claimed that a Shivling was found during the videography survey of the Gyanvapi mosque-Shringar Gauri complex last month.
The claim was disputed by the mosque committee members who said it was part of the water fountain mechanism in the wazookhana reservoir, used by devotees to perform ritual ablutions before offering namaz.

A 23-year-old law student, who had last year accused former BJP MP Chinmayanand of rape, turned hostile at a hearing in a special court in Lucknow on Tuesday. The LLM student categorically denied that she had levelled any allegation against the former Union minister. The student now faces a perjury charge. 72-year-old Chinmayanand was arrested last year in the rape case, and was granted bail in February. Earlier in her statement to cops and then before a magistrate the woman had accused Chinmayanand&nbsp;of sexually abusing and threatening her.&nbsp;

Lucknow, PTI: In a courtroom twist Tuesday to the high-profile case, a law student who had accused former Union minister Chinmayanand of sexually exploiting her disowned her statements to police and now faces a perjury charge.
Appearing before an MP-MLA court in Lucknow, the LLM student categorically denied that she had levelled any allegation against the former Union minister as the prosecution had charged.
At this, the prosecution immediately moved an application under Section 340 of the CrPC, seeking action against her for perjury.
Judge P K Rai directed his office to register the application and asked the prosecution to furnish a copy of the application to the victim and the accused.
The court fixed October 15 for hearing on the application.
The Allahabad High Court in February this year granted bail to Chinmayanand, whose trust runs the Shahjahanpur law college where the woman studied. He was arrested in September last year.
The case was registered under Section 376-C of the IPC, an offence pertaining to the abuse of one's position by a person in authority to "induce or seduce" a woman under his charge to have "sexual intercourse not amounting to the offence of rape".
Chinmayanand (72) also faced charges under Sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 354-D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
According to government lawyer Abhay Tripathi, the victim had lodged an FIR in this regard with the Lodhi Colony police station of New Delhi on September 5, 2019.
Her father lodged another complaint in Shahjahanpur and both FIRs were merged.
An SIT had recorded her statement. Later, her statement under Section 164 of the CrPC was recorded in Shahjahanpur.
In both statements, she had supported the FIR version but now during the trial, she changed her statement and denied the facts mentioned in the complaint.
&ldquo;Since she has turned hostile, I have moved an application under Section 340 of the CrPC,&rdquo; Tripathi said.
Earlier, the investigation officer had cited 33 witnesses and 29 documentary evidence in the 13-page charge sheet.
The Allahabad high court had on February 3, 2020 transferred the trial from Shahjahanpur to the Lucknow's MP-MLA court.
The case first came to light after the woman went missing on August 24, a day after she posted a video on social media alleging that a "senior leader of the sant community" was harassing and threatening to kill her.
