Saying that the Supreme Court was upset with the govt but did not want any confrontation, the Chief Justice reminded the Centre of the speedy approvals and appointments for top court judge and asked why nothing was being done to gill vacancies in tribunals.&nbsp;
The Centre had last month approved names of 9 judges for elevation to the Supreme Court.&nbsp;

Chief Justice NV Ramana&nbsp;on Thursday said that false narratives and misconceptions -- that judges supposedly lead an easy life -- need to be refuted by educating the public about the work put by them with limited resources.
The CJI said the most obvious sacrifice to become a judge is monetary but one must be moved by the spirit of public duty to take such a decision.
He said he would like to flag the amount of work judges put in day in and day out.
The CJI said there exists a misconception in the minds of the people that Judges stay in big bungalows, work only 10 am to 4 pm and enjoy their holidays and such a narrative is untrue.

The Supreme Court said on Thursday that there cannot be two parallel legal systems, one for the rich who wield political power and the other for "small men" without capabilities to access justice.
The apex court made these crucial observations while cancelling the bail granted to Madhya Pradesh BSP MLA's husband, who was arrested in over two-year-old murder case of Congress leader Devendra Chourasia.

The chief justice argued that democracy and its benefits could only be ensured by giving space to both &ldquo;reasoned and unreasonable&rdquo; public discourse.
Delivering the 17th Justice P D Desai Memorial Lecture on the topic "Rule of Law" through video conference, Justice Ramana also batted for complete judicial freedom.
The judiciary cannot be controlled, directly or indirectly, by the legislature or the executive, or else the rule of law will become illusory," he said.
The Chief Justice also cautioned that the judges should not get swayed by the "emotional pitch of public opinion" which gets amplified through social media platforms.
