Speaking with Faye D&rsquo;souza, Karan mentioned he's had &lsquo;one and a half relationships&rsquo; in his life. He said he actively sought companionship in his 40s but now he&rsquo;s prioritizing his independence.</p>
<p>Karan said, &lsquo;I am single and haven&rsquo;t been in a relationship for a very long time. In fact, I have been in one and a half relationships in my entire life. I can&rsquo;t tell you how much I enjoy my single status. I don&rsquo;t think I can change it now. Forget sharing a bathroom or bedroom or your space or schedule, I think the power of your day is with you. Your responsibility is to your children and your mom, that&rsquo;s about it.&rsquo;</p>
<p>He continued, &lsquo;I did feel the vacuum when I turned 40, but when I turned 50, I felt like I didn&rsquo;t want it. I am not blocking it, but now I don&rsquo;t see it happening actively. I have gone through agencies, blind date situations, and met people in the country, and out of the country, now if I find it well and good, I don&rsquo;t feel the need for it at all.&rsquo;</p>

He recalled attending voice modulation classes in secret.<br>He also mentioned that he used to think he had failed as a child and was failing his parents. He always used to wonder why he wasn't like the other boys in school.</p>
<p>Karan mentioned that he was struggling with body image issues and enrolled in a public speaking class. &ldquo;A gentleman there mentioned that my voice sounded effeminate and said it would make life difficult for me. He directed me to a class to develop a more baritone voice. During this period, I told my dad I was attending computer classes because I didn't want to reveal the real reason.&rdquo;</p>

<p>In a conversation with Faye D&rsquo;Souza, Karan expressed the challenges of explaining such complexities to young children, saying, 'It is a modern family. It is an unusual circumstance, so now I am also dealing with the questions about whose stomach was I born in? But mumma is not mumma really, she is my grandmother&rsquo;. I am going to school, to the counsellor, to ask how do we navigate the situation. And it is not easy, being a parent is never easy.'</p>

<p>Reflecting on his role as a single parent, Karan often discusses the loneliness he experiences due to not having a partner. He acknowledges that despite his busy schedule filled with work and surrounded by friends and family, there is a void that only an intense romantic relationship can fill. He adds, 'I have two children. Obviously, I&rsquo;m co-parenting them with my mom (and) not with a partner. That means I have a single status. And that single status is filled in with a lot of work. I push in so much work in the day that I don&rsquo;t think about that status. That&rsquo;s what we all do when you&rsquo;re single, you&rsquo;re lonely and you&rsquo;re perhaps not wanting to address that loneliness. You pack in your day with things because you want to distract yourself from the core. Then you believe that if you have great friendships and a great family life, it can actually compensate for the lack of a passionate intense romantic relationship. Nothing can replace that,' he said at an event.</p>
<p>'Life is full of boxes &ndash; parents fill one, children fill the other, friends fill the other. But there&rsquo;s a box for an intense love romantic relationship that if you don&rsquo;t experience there is a sense of incompleteness that nothing can ever fulfill.' That loneliness can actually really kind of consume you and it has consumed me.</p>
<p>He admitted, 'I have not been in a relationship for very many years. I know what that really feels like. Fortunately, I can live vicariously through cinema. I can create those stories, and characters that perhaps that I would like to either romantically be inclined with or just fulfill that part of love and romance in my life. Not everybody has that leverage,' he said.</p>

<p>The Indian Council of Medical Research and the National Institute of Nutrition or NIN have released revised National Dietary Guidelines for Indians, which state that children up to two years of age should be kept away from sugar, limiting the daily intake of calories from sugar to only 5 per cent.</p>
<p>Their daily diet should include at least 500 grams of fruits and vegetables. Diet guidelines also advise people to avoid protein supplements to meet their daily protein requirements and have natural protein instead.</p>

<p>The director noted that some producers pay excessive fees to actors to ensure film production, but this practice will harm the entire system in the long run.</p>

<p>Filmmaker Karan Johar acknowledged producer Aditya Chopra and superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the &lsquo;two pillars&rsquo; of his 25-year career in cinema.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Johar began as an assistant and had a brief role in Chopra's successful directorial debut, &lsquo;Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,&rsquo; a 1995 musical romance film starring SRK and Kajol. Three years later, both actors featured in &lsquo;Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,&rsquo; which marked Johar's directorial debut.</p>
<p>Johar visited the national capital to participate in the All India Management Association (AIMA)'s ninth National Leadership Conclave, where he received the 'director of the year' award for his work in the 2023 film &lsquo;Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani&rsquo;.</p>
<p>Johar reflected on his career and expressed gratitude to Chopra and SRK. He stated that they saw something in him that he didn't see in himself. Johar emphasized the role of destiny and hard work in his journey, noting that while strong belief can help overcome obstacles, he was fortunate to have the support of two individuals who believed in him.</p>
<p>Karan Johar, the son of late producer Yash Johar, mentioned that maintaining a professional demeanor can be challenging when working with actors one idolized while growing up, such as Amitabh Bachchan.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Bachchan starred in films produced by Johar's banner Dharma Productions, including &lsquo;Dostana&rsquo; (1980) and &lsquo;Agneepath&rsquo; (1990). Johar shared an amusing incident about directing Bachchan for the first time in his second directorial venture, &lsquo;Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.&rsquo; He recalled fainting a day before directing Bachchan and expressed gratitude to him for allowing him to be a director and give instructions.</p>
<p>Karan Johar, known for directing films like &lsquo;Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna,&rsquo; &lsquo;My Name is Khan,&rsquo; and the recent hit &lsquo;Rocky Aur Rani...,&rsquo; stated that he doesn't believe in resting on past achievements. He emphasized the importance of dealing with both failure and success in a similar manner, equating success with self-happiness rather than just financial gain. Johar stressed the need to acknowledge, accept, and analyze failure, while swiftly moving on from success to avoid complacency.</p>
<p>Reflecting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's views on films as soft power, Johar highlighted cinema's significant influence as a medium. He emphasized the responsibility that comes with this influence, noting that films have the power to shape societal consciousness. While he acknowledged that one film alone cannot transform society, Johar believed that cinema can play a vital role in highlighting important issues like women's empowerment. He also expressed hope that filmmakers would recognize the impact of their work and use their platform responsibly.</p>

<p>Filmmaker Karan Johar talked about &lsquo;Student of the Year 3&rsquo; at the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh and mentioned that it will web series that will be directed by Reema Maya, known for her work in &lsquo;Nocturnal Burger&rsquo;, according to TOI.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Discussing his collaboration with fresh talent, Karan Johar cited Reema Maya as an example, revealing that she will direct the digital adaptation of &lsquo;Student of the Year.&rsquo;</p>
<p>He added, &lsquo;But it will be her way and definitely not mine because if I&rsquo;ll enter Reema Maya&rsquo;s world, then I will make it more of an illusion, which is what her name means. I just wanted it to be her voice. She made it her own series.&rsquo;</p>

<p>Reema, an accomplished writer-director and co-founder of Catnip production house, is renowned for her independent filmmaking. Her latest project, &lsquo;Nocturnal Burger,&rsquo; premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023. Additionally, she has directed videos for prominent brands like Netflix, Red Bull, and boAt.</p>
<h3>About &lsquo;Student of the Year&rsquo; franchise</h3>
<p>Karan Johar launched Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan in Bollywood with &lsquo;Student Of The Year&rsquo; in 2012. He later produced &lsquo;Student Of The Year 2,&rsquo; directed by Puneet Malhotra, starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria.</p>
<p>A few reports suggested that Karan Johar intends to cast Shanaya Kapoor in the web series adaptation of a film franchise. Shanaya, preparing for her debut in Mohanlal's 'Vrushabha', was also expected to enter the OTT realm. However, her anticipated debut in Dharma Productions' 'Bedhadak', alongside Laksh Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada, has reportedly been delayed.</p>
<p>On the work front, Karan Johar&rsquo;s last directorial was &lsquo;Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani&rsquo;. He teased fans with the announcement of a film in January but didn&rsquo;t disclose the title or the cast.</p>
