An avalanche struck Gandhi Sarovar in Uttarakhand's Kedarnath around 5 am on Sunday. A police official said that occurred on a hill about 4 km away from the Kedarnath temple as a result of the cracking of snow due to sunlight.&nbsp;
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rudraprayag, Dr Vishakha Ashok Bhadane told ANI, "There was an avalanche from above Gandhi Sarovar in Kedarnath at around 5 am today. But there has been no loss of life or property."

After videos and reels from Kedarnath temple went viral in the past, photography and videography was banned by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) .&nbsp;
However, days after the ban, a photo of spiritual leader Morari Bapu inside the sanctum sanctorum has now gone viral on social media.&nbsp;
Following which Uttarakhand Congress leader and former BKTC president Ganesh Godiyal raised questions and pointed out that the temple committee's order are being violated time and again.&nbsp;
Godiyal further added that despite strict orders VIPs violate rules and get away with it.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, the man, who clicked the spritual leader was identified with the help of CCTV camera footage after the photo went viral on social media platforms, Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) media in-charge Harish Gaud said on Sunday.
A resident of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, the man was let off after he offered a written apology and a donation of Rs 11,000 to the BKTC, he said.
According to the devotee, he clicked the photograph of the spiritual leader, who has followers across the country, out of sheer excitement.

The gold layering work inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Kedarnath temple has triggered a controversy with senior priest Santosh Trivedi, also the vice president of the Char Dham Mahapanchayat accusing the top management of committing a Rs 125 crore scam in the name of gold plating, as per the Indian Express.&nbsp;
Refuting the allegations the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has termed it as 'conspiracy'.&nbsp;
In its clarification, the BKTC has said the donor had expressed his desire to golden crust the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Kedarnath Temple. Respecting the feelings of the donor, the permission was granted after examining the proposal.
BKTC has clarified that according to the provisions laid down in the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee Act-1939, donations have been accepted from the donors and permission has been taken from the state government to make the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Kedarnath temple gold-plated.
The gold plating was done under the supervision of the experts of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). BKTC has also clarified that the work of making the sanctum sanctorum gold-plated has been done by the donor himself. Copper plates were prepared by the donor from the jewellers at his own level and then gold was plated on them. The donor got these plates installed in the temple through his jewellers.

&nbsp;A section of priests in Kedarnath have opposed the gold plating of the walls inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Himalayan temple saying it amounted to tampering with its centuries-old traditions.

The four walls of the famed temple were covered with silver plates which have been removed to replace them with gold plates.
The gold plating of the temple's walls is being done after a Shiva devotee from Maharashtra volunteered to make an offering of gold for the purpose and his proposal was accepted by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee with permission from the state government.
The gold plating is damaging the temple walls. Big drilling machines are being used for the purpose. We cannot tolerate this tampering with the centuries old traditions of the temple," a pilgrimage priest named Santosh Trivedi said in Kedarnath.
However, the priests are divided on the issue with some senior priests favouring the renovation work currently underway inside the temple's sanctum sanctorum.
Senior priest at the temple Shrinivas Posti and former president of Kedar Sabha Mahesh Bagwadi said the temple is a major centre of Sanatan faith and gold plating of its walls is in keeping with the Hindu beliefs and traditions. Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee president Ajendra Ajay said opposition to the the gold plating of the temple walls is not justified as it is being done in accordance with the traditions without tampering with the original structure.
"Renovation and beautification of the temple from time to time is a normal practice. A handful of priests may oppose it but their representative bodies never opposed it. Decades ago the temple ceiling used to be made of grass and twigs. As the times changed it began to be made of stones and later of copper sheets," he said.&nbsp;

The Noida man was identified as Vikash Tyagi, had taken his pet Husky named Nawab to the holy shrine during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra. His video of the visit shows Tyagi grabbing the paws of the dog and making it touch the Nandi's statue. The video also shows a priest putting 'tilak' on the pet dog.
Since the FIR, Tyagi has taken to the internet to defend his action on his social media handle, saying he has been visiting temples with his dog for four years, 'so why this drama now?' and saying that his dog was also a creation of god. 
Tyagi has earned the support of the internet, but the temple committee has demanded stern action against him.
