Justifying his move, PM added that Major Dhyan Chand was among India&rsquo;s foremost sportspersons who brought honour and pride for India and it was fitting that India&rsquo;s highest sporting honour will be named after him.

While&nbsp;38-year-old Mithali&nbsp;recently completed 22 years in international cricket, Ashwin's&nbsp;top show in the World Test Championship&nbsp;fetched hum the country's highest sporting honour. He has also been one of India's biggest match winners in Test cricket&nbsp;for nearly a decade.
Apart from them, BCCI&nbsp;additionally nominated opener&nbsp;Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah for the Arjuna award. No women cricketer has been nominated for Arjuna.
