<p>Kriti Sanon is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film 'Do Patti'. This project is not only Kriti's debut as a producer, but it also features her in a dual role for the first time.</p>
<p>Additionally, the film introduces popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh to the world of feature films, and veteran actror Kajol will be seen playing the role of a cop for the first time in her career.</p>
<p>Despite 'Do Patti' being an OTT release, the film has been widely promoted, with the trailer and songs generating buzz.</p>
<p>However, the film's latest song, &ldquo;Akhiyaan De Kol,&rdquo; has sparked controversy. A remix of the classic Pakistani folk song, it features Kriti Sanon in a red leather bodysuit, dancing to fast-paced beats.</p>
<p>The song has drawn criticism for taking too many creative liberties with the original.</p>
<p>Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui voiced his disapproval on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, &ldquo;Imitation can be flattering, but not when it means tearing apart a classic by a legend. Please show some respect for Reshma jee and the legacy she left behind. Her music deserves to be treated with the dignity it commands, not reduced to just another sordid ripoff.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Many online users echoed his sentiments, expressing disappointment in the remix. One user commented, &ldquo;What an obscene way to honour the legend that Reshma ji is. Thank you for speaking up.&rdquo; However, others defended the adaptation, arguing that the song was legally acquired by the Indian label.</p>

<p>Kriti Sanon is currently basking in the success of her back-to-back hits, 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya' and 'Crew'. Recently, in an interview with Film Companion, the national-award-winning actor discussed pay parity in the film industry, wondering why some of her male co-stars, who are not even bankable, got paid 10 times more than what she gets.&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>Kriti Sanon on pay parity in the film industry</strong></h3>
<p>&ldquo;The difference in payment (between male actors and female actors') currently is huge for no reason. Sometimes, for no reason. When you feel like it's not like that person has given a hit in 10 years, then why is he getting paid 10 times?&rdquo; said Kriti.</p>
<p>&ldquo;A lot of the time, what the producers say is recovery. The recovery happens with digital and satellite, which sort of happens before a film is released. Before the word kind of takes off. So to get that kind of budget from digital and satellite&mdash;because on digital and satellite, the male-centric films actually do very, very well as compared to a film on a girl. I think there's a difference,&rdquo; Kriti added.</p>
<h3><strong>Producers weren't backing 'Crew'&nbsp;</strong></h3>
<p>'Crew', also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu, took everyone by surprise with its successful run at the box office. However, Kriti has now revealed that producers weren't all into bankrolling an all-female-led film, as they would in a similar setting with three male actors. She added that the outlook towards female-oriented films hasn't changed in all these years, despite Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, producers of Crew, backing an all-women mainstream film 'Veere Di Wedding' in 2018. For the uninitiated, Sonam Kapoor and other cast members of the film had to take pay cuts to keep the budget of the film in place.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kriti will next be seen in 'Do Patti,' also starring Kajol. The film marks Kriti's debut as a producer under her banner, Blue Butterfly Films. The actor is also part of 'Houseful 5' and 'No Entry' sequel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kriti Sanon is currently riding high on the success of her latest film, 'Crew', also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu. Before the heist drama, Kriti garnered rave reviews for her performance in 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya'. Thanks to her back-to-back box office successes, the national award-winning actor has now carved a niche for herself in the film industry, bagging the coveted A-lister title. However, there was a time when Kriti was very frustrated when she saw new faces, especially those with connections, get more opportunities.&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>'I wanted something deeper'&nbsp;</strong></h3>
<p>In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kriti opened up about feeling frustrated after not getting good opportunities where she could show her potential. She said, &ldquo;There was a phase where I was just very restless because I knew that I had way more potential than what I could portray in the opportunities that I had in front of me. I wanted something deeper. I wanted something where I could just show my potential as an actor way more. I always say this as an actor: &lsquo;Aapko jitna ghada milega, utna hi aap bhar sakte ho. Agar aapko chota vessel diya jayega toh usme aap utna hi paani bhar sakte ho. Agar aapko bada diya jayega toh aap aur bhar sakte ho.&rsquo; So I was looking for that bad vessel for a very long time.&rdquo;</p>
<p>She added, &ldquo;I was getting frustrated because I was like, I know I can do it; I know I can kill it, but I don&rsquo;t have it in front of me. At that point, I was also seeing some new faces, some of them belonging to the film background, coming in having not done anything and getting opportunities that I was like, How&hellip;&rdquo;</p>
<h3><strong>'Mimi' was a game-changer!&nbsp;</strong></h3>
<p>Kriti established herself as a bona fide actor with her nuanced performance in 'Mimi'. The film also bagged her the prestigious national award for the 'Best Actress' title. Speaking about how the film turned the tables for her, Kriti said, &ldquo;So I did have that phase where I was like, I need something more. Then Mimi happened. Somewhere, I believe that everything happens for a reason and at the right time. For me, I think maybe Mimi happened when I was ready to take up that role and do justice to that character. Maybe it didn&rsquo;t happen before for the same reason."&nbsp;</p>
