Five people including a 23-year-old woman were arrested by the Gomti Nagar police two days after a video went viral. In the video, the accused were seen thrashing two women with lathi and belts in Lucknow's Lohia crossing.&nbsp;
Deepak Pandey, Gomti Nagar, SHO, said, "All were from Lucknow and were arrested based on an FIR registered earlier in the case. The perpetrators were nabbed with the help of CCTV footage."
The victims told the police they were haveing a conversation at the roadside when the men stopped. Accusing the women of rude comments against them, the men started thrashing the women.
The arrested people have been identified as Ayaan Khan, 22, Sahil Kumar, 19, Vishal Valmiki, 19, Ravi Singh, 19 and Mini Bharti, 23.
The viral video shows the two girls engaging in an argument and suddenly two boys appear with lathi and belt. They started attacking the girls. This incident took place on Saturday, March 2, at around 2 am.&nbsp;
The group also brutally thrashed a man who came to the help of the two girls and left him bleeding on the road. The man was later admitted to a local hospital.&nbsp;

A video showed a red car hanging on the edge of the giant pothole, after the road caved in behind the vehicle on Sunday, March 3. Passersby in Vikas Nagar were seen recording the incident on their mobile phones.&nbsp;
The car was stuck with its rear wheels in the crater, and was finally rescued by the municipal authorities and police. No injuries were reported.&nbsp;
The crater is reportedly 30 feet wide and 20 feet deep.&nbsp;
Lucknow divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob has sought a report from the Public Works Department within 24 hours. Orders have also been given to repair the road immediately.&nbsp;

A recruitment drive is going on in Lucknow as there is a requirement for 10,000 construction labourers in Israel for bar benders, tile workers, plastering workers and carpenters. A team of officials from Israel are in Uttar Pradesh to hire workers.
Director of Training and Employment, Kunal Silku said, "...There was a requirement for 10,000 construction labourers in Israel- bar benders, tile workers, plastering workers &amp; carpenters were required...Israel's team has been in UP since January 23 &amp; testing has been conducted since then, it will continue till January 30...The timing for the testing is from 9 am-5 pm..."

In a shocking incident, the 23-year-old daughter of a serving PCS officer was gang-raped inside a moving SUV in Lucknow.&nbsp;
The incident reportedly occurred on December 5 but came to light on Sunday night after the survivor lodged an FIR. The police arrested three men for their alleged involvement on Monday.&nbsp;
They have been identified as 22-year-old Satyam Mishra, 23-year-old Suhail, and 31-year-old Aslam.&nbsp;
According to the police, the survivor was receiving medical treatment at KGMU Hospital. She became acquainted with the tea seller as the tea stall was right outside the hospital.&nbsp;
The tea seller involved the other two accused and meticulously planned the horrific act of assaulting the girl.

A Lucknow family ordered Chilli Paneer from a local restaurant but was delivered Chilli Chicken, which the vegetarian family ended up eating. The wrong order sparked outrage, with the delivery executive and restaurant being booked by police.
Complainant Rakesh Kumar Shastri, who is associated with a local temple, said his family was feeling &ldquo;uneasy&rdquo; after eating Chilli Chicken.
&ldquo;I placed an order of dry chilli paneer from a Chinese restaurant in the Alambagh area of Lucknow,&rdquo; Shastri said, as per the FIR cited by News18.
&ldquo;Instead of serving me chilli paneer, the restaurant and the delivery boy Imran served a non-vegetarian dish, which I and my family realised only after consuming it,&rdquo; the FIR added.

After captain Hardik Pandya, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and IPL team Lucknow Super Giants' mentor Gautam Gambhir all called out the Ekana pitch for being 'sub standard', the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association decided to sack the curator as per a report in the Indian Express.&nbsp; A total of only 200 runs were scored on the 'poor' pitch of the Lucknow stadium during India's 2nd T20I against New Zealand which the hosts won by 6 wickets.&nbsp;&nbsp; UPCA informed that the pitch curator has been replaced by Sanjeev Agrawal of Gwalior after the pitch curation was harshly criticised. Interestingly, the pitch used in 2nd T20I, as per the report turned out to be poor because of a last-minute request from the Indian Team management.&nbsp; The report said that the curator had prepared 2 black soil pitches for the game in advance however he was asked to prepare a red soil pitch instead just 3-days before the match. The new pitch could not be prepared properly on short notice and resulted in slower conditions.&nbsp;

Two women have died and two more people are still feared trapped a day after a multi-storey building collapsed in Lucknow.
Rescue personnel drawn from various agencies have been working round the clock since the building collapse in the Hazratganj area in the Uttar Pradesh capital Tuesday evening and the hope of pulling out anyone alive from the debris is diminishing by the minute.
The deceased were identified as Samajwadi Party spokesperson Abbas Haider's wife Uzma Haider and mother Begum Haider.
Begum Haider, 87, who was pulled out of the debris Wednesday morning after a nightlong rescue operation, was rushed to a hospital, where she died.
It seems that she had suffered internal injuries, State Director General of Police D S Chouhan told reporters.
Uzma Haider, 30, died at the civil hospital, Health Minister Brajesh Pathak told PTI.

More than a dozen people have been pulled out of the debris so far and at least two more are still feared trapped, a senior official said.
An FIR was registered on Wednesday against the builder of Alaya Apartments under IPC sections 323 (voluntary causing hurt), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 420 (fraud), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act.

At least 14 persons had been extricated from the rubble, with 3 more believed to be trapped, at around 9 am. Rescuers pumped oxygen to the places were thought to be people were trapped.
Meanwhile, UP police detained the son of a former minister and Samajwadi Party leader in connection with the building collapse. Manzoor Ahmed's son Nawazish is under scanner since the land agreement of the plot on which the building was constructed is in his name, as per a Times of India report.
A four-storey residential building collapsed in Lucknow's Hazratganj on 24 January. The structure was illegal and its map was "not passed", Lucknow divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob as quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Interacting with the victims of a road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri on Thursday, the Divisional Commissioner for Lucknow broke down while speaking to the mother of a child who was injured.

Authorities of a dozen districts, including Lucknow, Aligarh, Meerut, Gautam Buddh Nagar, and Ghaziabad, ordered the closure of schools on 10 October. The Met Department predicted more rain in Uttar Pradesh on 10 October.
For Delhi, sporadic light to moderate rainfall has been predicted for 10 October, which is expected to peter out by the next day. On 9 October, the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/local/pune-streets-flooded-cars-submerged-trees-falling-heavy-rain-causes-havoc-1662946232381">heavy rain</a> led to temperatures dropping considerably in the national capital, while also helping the air quality index (AQI) to reach 48, which falls in the "good" category. This was only the second "good" air quality day in Delhi in 2022 so far.
