Further, he noted that the number of votes received by Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP-SCP remained consistent across both elections. "We got the same amount of votes. Congress vote in Lok Sabha 2024 in a constituency is 1.36 lakh votes and in Vidhan Sabha, we get 1.34 lakh," he said.&nbsp;
However, he pointed out that 35,000 new voters were added in certain constituencies, which helped the BJP secure victory in the Assembly elections.&nbsp;
"BJP in Lok Sabha gets 1.9 lakh votes, and then in Vidhan Sabha, they get 1.75 lakh votes. Most of those voters who provided the BJP their victory come from those 35,000 new voters who have been added. It is the case in multiple constituencies," he asserted.
Gandhi demanded that the Election Commission provide the voter lists for both the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.&nbsp;

B., an investigation into water samples collected from private RO plants revealed that 19 such facilities were supplying unfit drinking water, leading to their immediate closure.
Further analysis of the contaminated water revealed the presence of Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria, a known health hazard. PMC&rsquo;s water supply department head, Nandkishor Jagtap, stated that private water suppliers have been instructed to use bleaching powder solutions provided by the PMC to contain the bacterial contamination.

A delegation of political leaders met Maharashtra Governor C.P. Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district, was abducted, tortured, and murdered on December 9, allegedly because he attempted to stop an extortion attempt against an energy firm running a windmill project. The police have arrested seven individuals in connection with the case, including Walmik Karad, an associate of Minister Munde, who was detained in the extortion case.
The leaders have called for Munde's resignation, the filing of a murder case against Karad, strict action against negligent police officers, and measures to curb extortion and criminal activities in Beed. The memorandum also pointed out that on May 28, 2024, an officer of Avaada Power Pvt Ltd was kidnapped but rescued after timely action by Ahilyanagar police. The leaders claimed that Karad had repeatedly threatened Avaada officials, demanding Rs 2 crore, and his associates allegedly attacked security personnel at the company&rsquo;s Massajog storeyard on December 6, 2024.
Deshmukh's abduction, torture, and murder occurred on December 9, and a video of the crime was circulated to intimidate others. His body was later found in a nearby village. The leaders also mentioned that the residents of Massajog staged protests the following day, demanding the arrest of the accused, but the cases were registered only after public pressure mounted.
The memorandum further stated that on December 31, 2024, Karad announced his surrender via a social media video, and crowds gathered at the CID headquarters in Pune during his surrender, causing disorder. The leaders raised concerns about the alleged preferential treatment for Karad and the influence of powerful figures on the investigation.
The memorandum was signed by former MP Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati, NCP (SP) MP from Beed Bajarang Sonawane, Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar, and MLA Jitendra Awhad, among others.

The Neelkamal ferry, with 80 persons and five crew members on board, was on way to Elephanta Islands, a popular tourist destination near Mumbai, when the speed boat circled it before crashing into it, a viral video of the accident shows.
A local leader claimed that the speed boat belonged to the Navy, but there was no confirmation from the Navy on this.
The Navy and Coast Guard launched a massive rescue operation, with 11 Navy boats and three boats of Marine Police and a boat of Coast Guard being deployed in the area, a defence official said.
Four helicopters were involved in the search and rescue operation, the official said.
Personnel from police, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and fishermen in the area are also involved in the rescue work, the official said.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the state assembly in Nagpur that search is underway for seven to eight passengers who are yet to be traced.
The speed boat, which is said to belong to either the Navy or Coast Guard, apparently lost control and rammed into the ferry, Fadnavis said.
