&lsquo;Kaathal &ndash; The Core&rsquo;, which is scheduled to hit the theatres on November 23, faces a ban in Qatar and Kuwait as it deals with homosexuality.

Mammootty and Jyotika&rsquo;s upcoming film &lsquo;Kaathal &ndash; The Core&rsquo; is scheduled to hit the theatres on November 23. Ahead of its theatrical release, the film faces a ban in Qatar and Kuwait. It is said that the film's story deals with homosexuality, which is the reason behind the ban.
Previously, many Indian films have been banned in the two countries due to the film's storylines, which don&rsquo;t suit their ideologies.
'Kaathal - The Core' is helmed by Jeo Baby of 'The Great Indian Kitchen'.
'Kaathal - The Core' will also be screened at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). The film's synopsis was published recently, which read, &lsquo;George Devassy (Mammootty) is a decorated official who recently has retired from a co-operative bank and lives with his wife Omana (Jyotika, daughter Ferni and Geroge's father Devassy. On a Sunday morning, after church rituals, George decides to contest for the upcoming Panchayat Elections and gives his nomination.&rsquo;
&lsquo;But to everyone's shock, two days later his wife Omana files for a divorce in the family court stating that George is in a homosexual relationship for the last few years with Thankan, his friend who runs a driving school in the same village. The news spreads like wildfire across the village and the allegation beccomes an grave issue with George's candidateship becoming doubtful. Omana does not see George's sexual orientation as a crime, only wanting a divorce, but George's strongly opposes these allegations. The film explores the politics of society's mindset towards homosexuals,&rsquo; it read.
'Kaathal - The Core' is a Malayalam drama that is jointly written by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria. Produced by Mammootty Kampany, the film has music composed by Matthews Pulickan, cinematography by Salu K Thomas and editing by Francies Louis.

Veteran actor Mammootty won the Best Actor award at the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards for his exceptional performance in the critically acclaimed Malayalam film &lsquo;Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam&rsquo;, which was helmed by Lijo Jose Pellissery.
On the special occasion, Dulquer Salmaan took to Instagram and dropped a picture of his dad and captioned it as, &lsquo;Bestest.&rsquo;
 Actor Mohanlal also gave a shoutout to Mammootty and other winners. Taking to Twitter he wrote &lsquo;Calling for a loud round of applause for all the winners of the Kerala State Film Awards 2023! Special love &amp; congrats to @mammukka- my Ichakka, @maheshNrayan, @KunchacksOffl and Vincy Aloshious! Keep rocking.&rsquo;

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who worked with Viswanath in three iconic films, tweeted, &lsquo;Salute to a master (sic).&rsquo; He shared a photo of a handwritten note that read, &lsquo;Kalathapasvi K Viswanath fully understood the transience of life and immortality of art. Hence, his art will be celebrated beyond his lifetime and reign. Long live his art. An ardent fan. Kamal Haasan (sic).&rsquo;

The legendary filmmaker's last rites are being held today. Chiranjeevi, SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani and veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao are among others who reached K Viswanath's residence in Hyderabad for final rites.

At the teaser launch of '2018', Mammootty said that Jude might not have much hair on his head, but he is an intelligent man.

&lsquo;I am sorry that some of you were offended by the enthusiastic words used by me to praise director Jude Antony at the trailer launch event of the '2018' movie,&rsquo; his note read.

Superstar Mammootty is embroiled in a controversy over his remark on director Jude Anthany Joseph at the teaser launch of the forthcoming survival drama &lsquo;2018&rsquo;. During his speech, Mammootty said that Jude might not have much hair on his head, but he is an intelligent man.
The veteran actor intended to appreciate the work of the filmmaker, but his remark did not go well with a section of social media users. Several people criticised him saying his words were nothing but body shaming.
Mammootty has now posted a regret note on his Facebook page and thanked his fans for pointing out the mistake.
&lsquo;Dear all, I am sorry that some of you were offended by the enthusiastic words used by me to praise director Jude Antony at the trailer launch event of the '2018' movie that happened yesterday. Joseph has also defended the superstar, saying that his words were twisted. He also joked that the concerned people should criticize Bangalore corporation's water supply and various shampoo brands for his hair loss.
