According to a skincare expert, the skin tends to feel more dry and sensitive during the seven days of your period as progesterone and estrogen are at their lowest.&nbsp;
Expert recommends using moisturiser and creams with hyaluronic acid. Hormone changes may lead to oil build-up under the skin in some people, therefore, cleansing is an important step during your periods.&nbsp;
Before the periods start, your skin experiences signs of dullness due to the lack of progesterone. Use moisturisers with calming agents such as calamine and calendula or opt for hydra facials in the week prior to menstruation.&nbsp;
The expert also suggested avoiding treatments such as collagen regeneration and lasers that use heat.

New study says Covid-19 jab affects menstrual cycle

People who got the Covid-19 vaccine reported slightly longer menstrual cycles, according to a new study.&nbsp;

A study of nearly 20,000 people around the world observed that the Covid-19 vaccine can increase the cycle length and change the timing of the menstrual cycle. The research was published in the BMJ Medicine journal.&nbsp;
For the study, the team looked at over 250,000 cycles between October 1, 2020 and November 7, 2021. Participants had received vaccines including AstraZeneca, Covishield, Johnson &amp; Johnson, Covaxin, Sputnik, Pfizer and Moderna.&nbsp;
The findings suggested that the average increase in cycle length was four days and 13 percent experienced a delay of eight days or more. Researchers also observed that people who received two vaccinations within one menstrual cycle experienced greater disruptions.&nbsp;

Researchers in the US have found associations between drinking alcohol and the chances of becoming <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/pregnant-women-can-now-take-covid-vaccine-can-register-on-cowin-or-opt-for-walk-in-1625242661159" target="_blank">pregnant</a>. Publishing in&nbsp;Human Reproduction, the study claims that&nbsp;alcohol intake and fecundability, which is defined as the probability of conceiving during a single menstrual cycle are closely linked.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Assessing self-reported data from&nbsp;313&nbsp;women collected over 19 menstrual cycles, the team found that heavy&nbsp;and moderate&nbsp;alcohol consumption&nbsp;during any phase of the cycle was substantially linked to a reduced probability of conception compared to non-drinkers.&nbsp;Heavy drinking&nbsp;during the ovulatory part of the cycle&nbsp;reduced the odds of pregnancy by&nbsp;as much as&nbsp;61&nbsp;per cent.&nbsp;
For the purpose of this research, heavy drinking was defined as more than six alcoholic drinks a week, while moderate drinking was measured as three to six drinks in a week.&nbsp;
The researchers cautioned that the findings must not be misconstrued to&nbsp;look at alcohol as a birth control option. Drinking heavily or not,&nbsp;if someone has unprotected intercourse, pregnancy is always a&nbsp;possibility.
