Another factor contributing to the stock's weakness is the upcoming adjustments in the MSCI Global Standard index, which will lead to an estimated outflow of $198 million from Reliance's market cap.

Recouping the dent caused by the Hindenburg Research report, Gautam Adani's networth shot up 95 per cent to Rs 11.6 lakh crore last year, which helped him replace Mukesh Ambani to become the richest Indian, a report said on Thursday.
Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Ambani's overall networth increased by 25 per cent to Rs 10.14 lakh crore, as per the 2024 Hurun India Rich List.
In 2023's report, Adani's wealth declined by 57 per cent to Rs 4.74 lakh crore, and Ambani was way ahead with a fortune of Rs 8.08 lakh crore.
It can be noted that Adani's networth declined sharply following various allegations levelled by US-based short seller Hindenburg Research. The conglomerate has denied all the allegations.
In the 2014 edition, Hurun had pegged Adani's fortunes at Rs 44,000 crore, which made him the tenth richest Indian then.
Shiv Nadar and family of HCL gained one spot to be the third richest with a networth of Rs 3.14 lakh crore, while Serum Institute of India's Cyrus Poonawalla slipped by one notch to the fourth position with a networth of Rs 2.89 lakh crore in 2024.
Sun Pharmaceuticals' Dilip Shanghvi continued his ascent on the list, securing the fifth richest tag against sixth last year with a networth of Rs 2.50 lakh crore.
Radha Vembu of Zoho was the wealthiest among self-made women with a fortune of Rs 47,500 crore, while Zepto's co-founders Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha, who are in their early 20s, were the youngest on the list with a networth of Rs 3,600 crore and Rs 4,300 crore, respectively.
The list, which captures Indians having a networth of over Rs 1,000 crore, grew by 220 individuals to 1,539 people in 2024. The cumulative wealth has seen a 46 per cent jump in the year.
Actor Shah Rukh Khan made his debut on the list with a fortune estimated at Rs 7,300 crore, which was much higher than business partner Juhi Chawla with Rs 4,600 crore networth secured second place among the entertainers.

The chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd overtakes the likes of Microsoft's Satya Nadella, and Google's Sundar Pichai to be ranked No.2 globally only behind Tencent's Huateng Ma.
According to the publication, the Brand Guardianship Index is a global recognition of CEOs, who are building business value in a sustainable manner, by balancing the needs of all stakeholders - employees, investors, and the wider society.
Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran is ranked at No.5, up from No.8 in the 2023 ranking. He is followed by Anish Shah of Mahindra &amp; Mahindra at No.6 and Infosys' Salil Parekh at No.16.
In the 2023 ranking as well Ambani was placed at No.2 position globally.
This year he was ranked No.1 in Brand Guardianship Index 2024 among the 'Diversified' conglomerates.
Ambani was ranked ahead of global majors like Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Google's Sundar Pichai, Apple's Tim Cook and Tesla's Elon Musk.
Brand Finance's survey gave Ambani a BGI score of 80.3, just below 81.6 of Huateng Ma of China-based Tencent.
Brand Finance constructs a balanced scorecard of measures designed to identify the factors that best capture the ability of CEOs to act as a steward of their company's brand and steward long term value.
This year's analysis reveals that ESG has become the single most important driving force in determining CEO reputation.
Being regarded as 'a sustainability champion' accounts for 14 per cent of variation in reputation scores, ahead of factors such as perceived trustworthiness (12.5 per cent), having 'a strong strategy and vision' and global recognition.

The consolidated net profit for the three months ending on September 30 reached Rs 668.18 crore, doubling from Rs 331.92 crore in the preceding quarter, according to the company's statement to the stock exchange.
The company's revenue also witnessed a substantial increase of 47 percent, reaching Rs 608.04 crore compared to Rs 414.13 crore in the June quarter. Part of this increase was attributed to a dividend income of Rs 216.85 crore.
Total costs for the company amounted to Rs 71.43 crore.

Hurun India and 360 ONE Wealth jointly released the 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2023, the 12th annual ranking of the richest individuals in India.
Reliance Industries has made cumulative investments exceeding $150 billion over the past decade, outpacing any other Indian corporation, as stated in the report. During this period, Mukesh Ambani's wealth has surged from Rs 1,65,100 crore in 2014 to nearly Rs 8,08,700 crore in 2023, marking an impressive four-fold increase.
Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, has slipped to the second position with a wealth of Rs 474,800 crore. Cyrus S Poonawalla, the founder of the Serum Institute of India, maintains his third-place position with a total wealth of Rs 2,78,500 crore in 2023.
Shiv Nadar of HCL retains the fourth spot with a wealth of Rs 2,28,900 crore, followed by Gopichand Hinduja &amp; family at Rs 1,76,500 crore. Dilip Shanghvi, the founder and leader of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, occupies the sixth spot with Rs 1,64,300 crore.
The top 10 list also includes LN Mittal &amp; family (Rs 1,62,300 crore), Radhakishan Damani of Avenue Supermarts (Rs 1,43,900 crore), Kumar Mangalam Birla &amp; family of Aditya Birla Group (Rs 1,25,600 crore), and Niraj Bajaj and family (Rs 1,20,700 crore).
Radha Vembu of Zoho has surpassed Falguni Nayyar of Nykaa to become the wealthiest self-made Indian woman in the 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2023. The youngest self-made woman entrepreneur on the list is Neha Narkhede, the co-founder of Confluent, a streaming data technology company.

Ambani's three children&mdash;twins Akash and Isha (both 31 years old) and Anant (28 years old)&mdash;will receive sitting fees and a commission based on the firm's profits.
Their appointment terms are in line with those of Ambani's wife, Nita Ambani, who joined the company's board in 2014. She earned a sitting fee of Rs 6 lakh and a commission of Rs 2 crore in the 2022-23 fiscal year, according to the company's latest annual report.
Mukesh Ambani announced at the company's annual shareholders meeting last month that his three children would join Reliance's board of directors. He also stated that he would continue as the company's chairman and CEO for another five years, focusing on grooming and empowering the next-generation leaders.
Reliance has now sent out a postal ballot to shareholders to seek approval for their appointment as board directors. They will be remunerated through fees for attending board meetings, expense reimbursements, and profit-related commissions, as stated in the notice.
Ambani first unveiled a succession plan for the conglomerate in 2022, with each of his three children slated to head various divisions of the company. However, the succession plan for Reliance's core oil-to-chemicals (O2C) division has not been revealed.
At the annual general meeting last month, Reliance shareholders approved Ambani's five-year term extension as the head of India's most valuable company. Ambani has opted not to receive a salary for this period, continuing a trend he started in FY21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the succession planning, Nita Ambani resigned as a director of Reliance but has been made a permanent invitee to all board meetings, a status none of the other directors enjoy. Mukesh Ambani and other directors require shareholders' approval for any extension beyond their current approved terms, but Nita will continue on the board indefinitely.
Isha holds 0.12% equity shares of the company, and Mukesh Ambani owns 41.46% of Reliance shares.
Akash heads India's largest telecom company, Jio, and spearheads the development of products and services leveraging new-age technologies.
Anant is responsible for the expansion of Reliance's energy and materials businesses, as well as its global operations in renewable and green energy.

Mukesh Ambani has been a member of Reliance's board since 1977 and became chairman of the company in July 2002 after his father's passing.
He capped his annual remuneration at Rs 15 crore from FY08-09 to FY20 and, since FY21, chose not to receive a salary due to the pandemic until the company and its businesses returned to their earnings potential. The company's board has recommended that he continue to forego a salary and profit-based commission from April 19, 2024, to April 18, 2029.

The RIL CEO ranked ninth worldwide with a $82 billion net worth, according to the study created by research platform Hurun in collaboration with estate firm M3M. According to the Hurun Global Rich list, Mukesh Ambani saw a 20% decrease in wealth, however, retained the wealthiest Asian title for the third consecutive year. Gautam Adani and family slipped to the 23rd position on the list this year. Cyrus Poonawal and Shiv Nadar &amp; Family were at 46th and 50th positions, respectively, while Uday Kotak stood at 135th place.
India continues to be the third biggest producer of billionaires in the world, with 187 billionaires living there and 16 new additions; if billionaires of Indian descent are included, the number increases to 217.
The report also says that Gautam Adani lost Rs 3,000 crore every week over the last year with his wealth eroding as much as 60% post the U.S shortseller Hindenburg Research report.
The biggest losers who saw their wealth plummet by billions, according to the list, include Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Sergey Brin, Larry Page and MacKenzie Scott followed by Gautam Adani and Family and Mukesh Ambani.&nbsp;

The genome test will be about 86% cheaper than other similar products that are available.&nbsp;
Ramesh Hariharan, chief executive officer of Strand Life told Bloomberg that this test will be able to reveal a person's predisposition to cancers, cardiac and neuro-degenerative ailments and also identify inherited genetic disorders. "It will be the cheapest such genomic profile in the world. We're going out at an aggressive price point to drive adoption as it gives us a chance to build a viable business in preventive healthcare", he went on to say.&nbsp; This project will potentially bring personal gene-mapping to India's population and can be a treasure trove of biological data that can aid drug development and disease prevention.&nbsp;

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mukesh Ambani's net worth is $81.5 billion. As of February 23, 2023, he sits in the 12th spot on the world's top billionaires list. On the other hand, Gautam Adani's wealth stands at $42.7 billion; he has slipped to the 29th spot in the index, falling from the ranks of the world's second richest last year. Significantly, he is no longer among the top 25 billionaires on the list.
Shares of Adani Group companies have been under pressure since the January 24 report by Hindenburg. Notably, the report made allegations of accounting irregularities in the books of Adani Group companies.

Adani who figured among the top three billionaires in the world has dropped in the ranking to number 10 just below Mukesh Ambani. At the top of the list is French luxury fashion giant's LMVH's Bernard Arnault and family.
