After a viral video showed a man carrying seven children on a scooter, the Mumbai Police were able to identify the rider and booked him under relevant sections of the law.&nbsp;

A man seen in a viral video carrying seven children pillion passengers on a scooter was arrested in Mumbai. The accused identified as Munnavvar Shah is seen riding his scooter with two children standing in front, three others riding pillion and two others standing on the vehicle's crash guard. None of them was seen wearing helmets.
The locals shared the video on Twitter tagging Mumbai Police, which led to the arrest five days after the incident which happened on June 20, 2023. Further probe revealed that the rider who runs a coconut shop, had four of his children and three kids from his neighbourhood on his scooter.
&nbsp;&ldquo;Not the ride we support! This rider had put the life of all pillion riders and others in danger. A serious offence u/sec 308 IPC for an attempt to commit culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been registered against the accused rider&rdquo;, the Mumbai traffic tweeted after sharing a blurred image of the man and his scooter.&nbsp;
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, every year, approximately 1.5 lakh people die in road accidents in India.&nbsp;

The Mumbai police on Monday issued prohibitory orders till June 11 restricting the movement and unlawful assembly of five or more persons in order to prevent a breach of peace, disturbance to public tranquillity and danger to human lives and loss of property in the metropolis, an official said.
Assembly of five or more persons, processions, use of loudspeakers and amplification instruments, musical bands and bursting of firecrackers have been restricted, though marriage ceremonies, funeral assemblies, statutory meetings of companies, clubs, co-operative societies etc are exempted, as per the order.
Assemblies in or around cinema houses, theatres or any place of public amusement for the purpose of watching films, dramas or performances, around schools and colleges are also exempted along with assemblies in or around courts of law and offices of the government and local bodies in discharge of government and semi-government functions, it said.

Fake call centres that dupe people around the world are commonly found in India, but Mumbai police said Monday that they managed to bust one because of what the workers were having for breakfast.
The centre, located in a house along Rajodi Beach outside India's financial capital, housed dozens of employees who were not allowed to leave the building to prevent them from interacting with outsiders.
But police got a tip-off that someone was repeatedly ordering dozens of breakfasts from a nearby eatery -- and at 4:00 am.
"The beach resort is full of tourists on weekends and almost deserted on other days. So the 50 to 60 tea and breakfast orders so early every morning for many days raised our suspicion and we started secretly monitoring the place," police officer Suhas Bavche told AFP.
Police finally raided the house, which had a floor with 60 workstations, on the night of April 11 and arrested the owner and 47 employees.
They have been charged with impersonation, cheating and fraud under India's Information Technology Act. Authorities had also commenced a forensic examination of the computers.
The investigation so far has revealed that young employees were trained to receive calls from unsuspecting bank customers from Australia, Bavche said.
They allegedly extracted sensitive personal details and security information -- including one-time passwords -- from them and passed the information on to managers over email, the officer said.
"This could be the tip of the iceberg. We are investigating international connections for the racket," he added.

A private investigator and controversial witness in the Aryan Khan drug case, Kiran Gosavi, has been detained by Pune Police.
Gosavi, who was seen in a viral selfie with Aryan Khan after his arrest in the drugs-on-cruise case, was absconding for many days.
NCB had listed Gosavi as an independent witness in the cruise raid. He was seen escorting Aryan Khan after the raid.
Gosavi's bodyguard Prabhakar Sail had alleged that he had struck a deal for Rs 18 crore to release Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan after the raid, adding that Rs 8 crores from the bribe money were to go to NCB officer Sameer Wankhede.
Both Gosavi and Wankhede have denied the allegation.
Gosavi has demanded that Sail's call records should be investigated to find the truth about the bribe allegation.
Kiran Gosavi has been on the run since questions were raised on his presence at the NCB office after Aryan Khan's arrest. He earlier tried to surrender at a Lucknow police station citing threat to his life in Maharashtra, but was not allowed to.
Gosavi has also been accused of duping a Pune man on the pretext of getting him a job in Malaysia. A look out notice was issued against him to stop him from leaving the country.

A private investigator and controversial witness in the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/india-news/aryan-khan-case-sameer-wankhede-records-statement-for-over-4-hours-before-ncb-probe-team-1635351123800">Aryan Khan drug case</a>, Kiran Gosavi, has been arrested&nbsp;by Pune Police.
Gosavi, who was seen in a viral selfie with Aryan Khan after his arrest in the drugs-on-cruise case, was absconding for many days.
NCB had listed Gosavi as an independent witness in the cruise raid. He was seen escorting Aryan Khan after the raid.

Gosavi's bodyguard Prabhakar Sail had alleged that he had struck a deal for Rs 18 crore to release Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan after the raid, adding that Rs 8 crores from the bribe money were to go to NCB officer Sameer Wankhede. Both Gosavi and Wankhede have denied the allegation.
Gosavi has demanded that Sail's call records should be investigated to find the truth about the bribe allegation.
Kiran Gosavi has been on the run since questions were raised on his presence at the NCB office after Aryan Khan's arrest. He earlier tried to surrender at a Lucknow police station citing threat to his life in Maharashtra, but was not allowed to.
Gosavi has also been accused of duping a Pune man on the pretext of getting him a job in Malaysia. A look out notice was issued against him to stop him from leaving the country.

Independent witness Prabhakar Sail&nbsp;recorded his statement&nbsp;before Mumbai&nbsp;Police on Tuesday&nbsp;in connection with his allegation of extortion attempt by NCB officials in the drugs seizure case involving Aryan Khan, an official said here.
Sail's lawyer claimed that his&nbsp;client was&nbsp;"misused" during the Narcotics Control Bureau's raid on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2.
When asked if the NCB too had asked Sail to appear before it, the lawyer said they had not received any summons from the anti-drugs agency.

The police told Bombay High Court, where Raj Kundra has challenged his arrest, that he refused to accept the notice sent to him regarding the probe.
In its affidavit in the high court, the police have stated that Kundra held a British passport and was an Overseas Citizen of India. It added that Kundra and his IT Technician Ryan Thorpe started deleting WhatsApp messages thereby tampering and causing evidence to disappear.
