Author Chetan Bhagat, who was the one of the judges on TV show &lsquo;Nach Baliye 7&rsquo;, recently opened up on the ugly side of reality shows and how the makers take advantage of an emotional moment for TRPs.
In a conversation with actor Amit Sadh on his YouTube channel, the author first praised the reality TV show for giving him the platform to have a wider reach across the country. He said, &lsquo;I have reached India through that show and I have learnt so much.&rsquo;
He further stated the dirty side of such shows and said, &lsquo;They also exploit..I remember someone was crying and suddenly someone in the production shouted, &lsquo;Close up le, close up le, close up le&rsquo; and then a camera came zooming into the person&rsquo;s face and someone shouted, &lsquo;emotion le, reaction le.&rsquo; But they were really crying, it was something like the parents didn&rsquo;t approve of the wedding. There was genuine sorrow but they don&rsquo;t care. That&rsquo;s reality TV.&rsquo;
Bhagat also said that the production team asked him to be aggressive and said, &lsquo;Sir, thoda lada karo aap. Thoda gussa karo.. (Sir, you should fight a little and show your anger to people).&rsquo;&nbsp; He said that people think they are watching the real thing, but it is &lsquo;mixed reality.&rsquo;
Chetan Bhagat was the judge of the seventh season of Nach Baliye along with actor Preity Zinta and choreographer Marzi Pestonji in 2015.&nbsp;
