Netflix and leading Indian studio Yash Raj Films (YRF) have set multi-year creative partnership. The two iconic entertainers will collaborate to create films and series to bring defining stories to audiences in India and across the world.
Their first project together is &lsquo;The Railway Men&rsquo;, a four-part series starring R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu Sharma and Babil Khan, which is directed by debutant director Shiv Rawail.
The second is &lsquo;Maharaj&rsquo;, a film that marks the debut of actor Junaid Khan and also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari &amp; Shalini Pandey. The film has been directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, whose last film &lsquo;Hichki&rsquo; was a global hit.
Inspired by true stories, &lsquo;The Railway Men&rsquo; is a show based on the deadly gas leak in the central Indian city of Bhopal.
Also inspired by true events, &lsquo;Maharaj&rsquo;, is an incredible David vs Goliath story set in the 1800s, about how a regular man, journalist by profession, takes on a powerful role-model of society, hailed by many as a messiah for the masses. The fearless reporter uncovers a series of incidents that shake the very foundation of society.

Like in theatres and TV shows, OTT platforms will now have to display anti-tobacco warnings and disclaimers. They will also have to exhibit an anti-tobacco health warning as a prominent static message at the bottom of the screen when tobacco products or their use is shown.

Netflix has reacted to the legal notice sent by political analyst Mithun Vijay Kumar demanding the removal of its show &lsquo;The Big Bang Theory&rsquo;. The OTT giant has redirected him to Warner Bros, who is the licensor.
Speaking with Hindustan Times about the response, Kumar said, &lsquo;As a sensible streaming service provider that understands cultural sensitivities, Netflix has informed the original producers of the show regarding the gravity of the issue raised by me. I hope Warner Bros will take appropriate content moderation measures and ensure that their content is free from such abusive language towards people and cultures.&rsquo;
&lsquo;As an individual, I believe that all such programs that use derogatory language in the name of humour must be taken down. We even have recent observations from an honourable high court on the need to regulate content with vulgar language on social media and OTT. While the Big Bang Theory episode may be one such issue, there are plenty of other shows where the content needs to be regulated. But I hope this incident has highlighted the need for content moderation on streaming platforms when foul language crosses a particular line. In our society, even today, swear words are not spoken in the presence of family, women, children, etc., then why is OTT an exception?&rsquo; he added.
Mithun Vijay Kumar accused the popular American sitcom &lsquo;The Big Bang Theory&rsquo; of promoting sexism and misogyny. In the first episode of season two, Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper, called Aishwarya Rai &lsquo;a poor man&rsquo;s Madhuri Dixit.' Kunal Nayyar's character Raj Koothrapalli, replied, &lsquo;Aishwarya Rai is a goddess, by comparison, Madhuri Dixit is a leprous prostitute.&rsquo;

The Covid-19 pandemic was a game-changer for the &nbsp;OTT platforms, which saw viewership skyrocketing.&nbsp; However, as the Covid situation abated, paid subscriptions for OTT platforms has plateaued.&nbsp;
According to reports by Livemint, besides penetration of OTTs among the urban elite has reached a saturation point and the platforms are yet to devise a strategy to woo the lower-end of the target audience in a significant way.&nbsp;
The churn has also increased with consumers frequently activating and deactivating subscriptions. At the peak of the covid pandemic, platforms had seen over 100% rise in subscription numbers. With most subscribers opting for annual payment plans, month-on-month growth has slowed, said Vibhu Agarwal, founder of OTT app Atrangii. Most of the OTT players have been able to gain initial traction from India&rsquo;s largest cities, where the per capita income is much higher than that in smaller cities or rural areas. Therefore, substantially increasing the paid user base could prove to be a challenge in India.&nbsp;

According to reports, Basic with Ads subscriptions will be priced at $6.99 in the United States, three dollars less than a basic option without ads.&nbsp;
Video ads will be from 15 seconds to 30 seconds long.&nbsp;

The deal to showcase films on these platforms is being pegged at a whopping Rs 400 crores, so that's a lot of money.&nbsp;According to reports, Clean Slate Filmz&nbsp;will bankroll eight films and series, which will release on Netflix&nbsp;and Prime Video over&nbsp;the next 18 months. What is Clean Slate Filmz?&nbsp;
Anushka&nbsp;Sharma co-owns Clean Slate Filmz with her brother Karnesh Sharma. The production company&nbsp;had earlier released 'Bulbbul'&nbsp;on Netflix and 'Paatal Lok'&nbsp;on Amazon Prime Video, so they are well-versed with raking in the big bucks.
The production company&rsquo;s maiden venture was with 2015 film 'NH10', which also starred Anushka&nbsp;Sharma&nbsp;as the female lead.&nbsp;Clean Slate Filmz also has multiple other releases lined up over the coming year, which include the Jhulan Goswami biopic 'Chakda Xpress', thriller series Mai,&nbsp;and a drama titled 'Qala'.

Pakistani star Humayun Saeed is set to feature as Dr Hasnat Khan, who was in a relationship with Princess Diana, on the upcoming fifth season of the acclaimed Netflix series "The Crown".
On the hit royal drama, Saeed will play Khan, a British-Pakistani heart surgeon who practised at London's Royal Brompton Hospital.
According to Variety, Hasnat Khan's 2004 statement to the Metropolitan Police, which was submitted in 2008 to an inquest into Diana's death, stated that he was in a relationship with her from 1995-1997 and that she broke up with him after she met Dodi Fayed at a holiday with Mohammed Al Fayed and his family.
Fayed and Diana died in a road accident in Paris in 1997.
"The Crown" -- which follows the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II -- will be Saeed's first global show, after starting his career in 1999 with the Pakistani Urdu film "Inteha" and featuring in hits like the "Jawani Phir Nahi Ani" franchise and the 2017 romantic comedy "Punjab Nahi Jaungi". The 50-year-old actor has also featured on several Pakistani TV shows.
