The National Investigation Agency has detained two main suspects in the Bengaluru Rameshwaram cafe blast case. According to reports, the suspects were picked from West Bengal.
The detained suspects have been identified as bomber Mussavir Hussain Shazib and his accomplice Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa. NIA said they were traced to their hideout near Kolkata and apprehended.
NIA had announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for information on them.&nbsp;
Shazib was the one who placed the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the cafe and Taahaa was the mastermind behind the planning and execution of the blast, the officials said.
"In the morning hours of April 12, 2024, NIA was successful in tracing the absconding accused near Kolkata where they were hiding under false identities," an official said.
This pursuit was supported by coordinated action and cooperation among the NIA, central intelligence agencies and the state police agencies of West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala, the official added.
The NIA had last month announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for information leading to the arrest of these two accused.
An IED explosion rocked the cafe located on ITPL Road, Brookefield, Bengaluru, on March 1.
The NIA took over the probe on March 3.

National Investigation Agency's Kolkata officer Dhan Ram Singh was reportedly summoned to Delhi amidst allegations from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) that he held a secret meeting with BJP leader Jitendra Tiwari, days before TMC workers were arrested in connection with a 2022 blast case.
Though senior officials dubbed it a routine visit, News 18 outlet, quoting sources reported, that the TMC's allegations prompted the NIA headquarters to issue summons.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that a DIG-rank officer has been sent by the NIA from Patna to West Bengal to supervise cases.
The whole row erupted after a team of the NIA was allegedly attacked by a mob on Saturday when it went to arrest two main suspects in a 2022 Bhupatinagar blast case in Purba Medinipur district.
It later sparked a political slugfest with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accusing the investigators of assaulting the villagers.
On Sunday, TMC held a press conference in which its spokesperson Kunal Ghosh claimed that days Tiwari met the NIA SP for 52 minutes on March 26, and two TMC workers were arrested from Bhupatinagar on April 6 in connection with a 2022 blast case.
Tiwari, however, rejected the charge and demanded an apology from the TMC.
&ldquo;If it is proved that we held any such meeting, then I will leave politics. Feeling the pressure, the TMC is trying to brand the NIA raid as a political conspiracy. According to the laws of our country, they (TMC) should prove the allegations against me. Apologise if you can&rsquo;t prove it, or I will file a defamation case within seven days,&rdquo; he said.

A vehicle carrying NIA officials was on Saturday attacked by villagers in Bhupatinagar area of West Bengal&rsquo;s Purba Medinipur district, where they had gone to investigative a 2022 bomb blast case, police said.
A team of NIA officials earlier this morning arrested two persons in connection with the case and were on their way back to Kolkata, when the vehicle came under attack, they said.
"Locals gheraoed the vehicle and pelted stones at it. The NIA has said one of its officers was also injured," a senior police official said.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also lodged a police complaint in this regard, he said.
Officials of the federal probe agency were unavailable for comments on the incident.
A huge contingent of central police force has reached Bhupatinagar, where the NIA team is present along with the two arrested persons, police said.
Three persons were killed when an explosion ripped apart a kutcha house in Bhupatinagar on December 3, 2022. The investigation was later handed over to the NIA.

Of the total 44 locations being raided by the NIA since this morning, the agency sleuths have searched 1 place in Karnataka, 2 in Pune, 31 in Thane Rural, 9 in Thane city and 1 in Bhayandar, the media agency said.

NIA books Khalistani separatist Pannun for threatening Air India passengers

Pannun, the self-proclaimed general counsel of "unlawful association" SFJ, released the video messages on social media platforms on November 4.

The NIA has registered a case against designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and his banned organisation Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) for issuing video messages threatening people flying Air India, a spokesperson of the agency said on Monday.
The case has been filed under the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the official said.
Pannun, the self-proclaimed general counsel of "unlawful association" SFJ, released the video messages on social media platforms on November 4.
In these, he asked Sikhs not to fly on Air India planes on and after November 19, claiming that there was a threat to their lives if they flew on the airline's aircraft. The listed terrorist also threatened that Air India would not be allowed to operate globally.
Following this, a high alert was issued and investigations started by security forces in Canada, India and certain other countries where Air India flies.
In his video messages, Pannun also issued a warning to the Indian government that the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi, one of the world's busiest airports, would remain closed on November 19.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) spokesperson said Pannun has been under the NIA's lens since 2019 when the anti-terror agency registered its first case against him.
In September, the NIA had confiscated his share of a house and land in Amritsar in Punjab and Chandigarh, the spokesperson said, adding that non-bailable arrest warrants were issued against Pannun by a NIA Special Court on February 3, 2021.
He was also declared a 'Proclaimed Offender' on November 29 last year, the official said.
As part of his concerted plan to promote terror acts to revive terrorism in India, the official said, Pannun has been creating a false narrative around issues prevailing in Punjab, particularly with regard to Sikhism and by promoting enmity between Sikhs in the country and other communities.

"The latest threat is in line with the same narrative, which Pannun has actively promoted in the past by threatening and attempting to disrupt essential transportation network systems, including the railways, as well as thermal power plants in India," the spokesperson said.
On July 10, 2019, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs had banned the SFJ as an "unlawful association" under UAPA for its activities. On July 1 in the next year, Pannun was listed as an "individual terrorist" by the ministry.&nbsp;

According to official sources, the raids are underway at several places in Maharashtra since Wednesday early morning.
A team of NIA officials has reached Abdul Wahid Sheikh's residence at Mumbai's Vikhroli area. Sheikh is the acquitted accused of the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts.

As per the news outlet, the sources have indicated that the assets of fugitive Khalistani terrorists are also poised for confiscation as part of the ongoing efforts.&nbsp;

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has released the pictures of 10 wanted accused in the March 2023 case of attack and vandalism at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, USA, and has sought information about them from the general public, the agency said in a statement.
The agency has issued three separate &ldquo;Request for Identification &amp; Information&rdquo; notices against the wanted accused, "seeking any information of importance that could lead to their arrest or apprehension".
While two of the notices carry photographs of two accused each, the third notice shows pictures of the other six accused allegedly involved in the case, read the agency statement.
The NIA has also released telephone numbers and email IDs for sharing of any information on these 10 accused and promised not to reveal the identity of anyone sharing information on the accused, it said.
The attack on the Indian Consulate in San Francisco had taken place in the intervening night of March 18 and 19, 2023 when some pro-khaliatani entities trespassed into the consulate and tried to burn down the Consulate, the NIA statement added.

Nisar Ahmed alias Haji Nisar and Mushtaq Hussain were arrested on Thursday following the revelation of NIA investigations that "both the arrested accused persons were involved in harbouring the terrorists who had carried out the shocking killings of the civilians in Dhangri village in Rajouri district on January 1".
As per NIA, the two accused had provided "logistics support to the terrorists for more than two months and had sheltered them in a hideout, which was constructed by the arrested accused persons on the directions of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) handlers namely Saifullah alias Sajid Jutt, Abu Qatal alias Qatal Sindhi and Mohd Qasim."

Mushtaq, who is now believed to be operating from Pakistan, was released along with Jaish chief Masood Azhar in exchange of hostages of the hijacked Indian Airlines plane in Afghanistan's Kandahar in 1999.

Latram was been designated as a terrorist under the UAPA in April last year, a move which enabled the security agencies to attach his property.

NIA raids: top Khalistani terrorist's aide, gang members arrested

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested six people, including a close aide of a designated terrorist, in connection with its cases related to unholy nexus between criminal gangs, terror groups and drug mafia, an official spokesperson said on Thursday.
The arrests came after the NIA carried out raids at 76 locations in eight states on Tuesday to bust the nexus.
Those arrested include Lucky Khokhar alias Denis, a close associate of Canada-based 'designated terrorist' Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala.
Others arrested in the raids, which were carried out in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, included associates of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Goldy Brar.
Khokhar, a resident of Bathinda, Punjab, was nabbed from Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan on Tuesday. He was in direct and frequent contact with Arsh Dala and had carried out recruitment for him, besides receiving funds for terror-related activities, the NIA said.
He had also provided arms and ammunition to Arsh Dala's associates in Punjab that were also used for carrying out a murder recently in Jagraon on the directions of the Canada-based terrorist.
The NIA had registered a suo moto case on August 20 last year against seven people, including Harwinder Singh alias Rinda, Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias Landa, and Arsh Dala. One person, Deepak Ranga, was earlier arrested in the case by the NIA.
According to an NIA spokesperson, Khokhar was working for Dala, who has been involved in smuggling arms, ammunition, explosives, IEDs across international and inter-state borders in India for several banned terror outfits, including the Khalistan Liberation Force, Babbar Khalsa International and International Sikh Youth Federation.
Besides Khokhar, the NIA also arrested Lakhvir Singh, Harpreet, Dalip Bishnoi, Surinder alias Chiku Chaudhary, and Hari Om alias Titu, the spokesperson said.
While Hari Om alias Titu was arrested on Tuesday, Lakhvir Singh, was nabbed a day later in connection with a case registered against them and their associates in August last year for allegedly attempting to motivate and recruit youth for terror activities through using social media.
They were also using social media to "publicise" their crimes in a bid to create fear among the general public, the NIA said.
Nine weapons were seized from Lakhvir Singh's possession, who is termed a notorious criminal and associate of Chhotu Ram Bhaat, earlier arrested in the case.
The NIA has so far arrested nine accused, including Kaushal Choudhary, Amit Dagar, Sukhpreet Singh, Bhupi Rana, Neeraj Bawana, Naveen Bali and Sunil Balyan, in this case.
According to the spokesperson, Surender Chaudhrary and Dalip Bishnoi are known associates of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Canada-based criminal Goldy Brar.
They were arrested for raising funds, recruiting youth and carrying out terrorist acts on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
This case was also registered by the NIA in August last year and 10 accused, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Kala Jatheri, Kala Rana, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Raju Basoudi, Anil Chippi, Naresh Yadav, and Shahbaz Ansari have been arrested, the spokesperson said.
Surinder Chaudhry, who was arrested on Tuesday, faces several cases under the NDPS Act, for attempt to murder and extortion.
He has been involved in illegal liquor contracts, smuggling and extortion from liquor and mining contractors in Haryana and has been one of the main financers of terror-gangster syndicates.
Dalip Bishnoi, who was arrested on Wednesday, is a "habitual criminal" having 13 cases against him. He has been one of the main financers of this terror gang and was providing logistics support to the gangs in Punjab and Rajasthan, the spokesperson said.
The NIA investigations have so far shown that many criminals, who were leading gangsters in India, had fled to countries like Pakistan, Canada, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia and were planning their terror and criminal acts from there, in association with criminals lodged in jails in different states.
These groups were carrying out targeted killings and raising funds for their nefarious activities through smuggling of drugs and weapons, hawala and extortions.
Further investigations are on to dismantle such terror networks and their funding and support infrastructure, the spokesperson said.

An alert was sounded in India's financial capital Mumbai after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) received an email threatening a terrorist attack in the city.
Police on 3 February 2023 said that the email was received a day earlier. The threatening communication said that a person linked to the Taliban would carry out an "attack" in Mumbai.
The email address from which the threat was sent had the letters "CIA" in it. CIA is the spy agency of the United States of America.
Mumbai police and Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) were put on alert after the email was received. An investigation has also been launched into the origins of the email.

A similar mail was sent to the federal agency last month as well. The police conducted a probe and did not find any substance in it, he said. The police suspect this might be a mischief, as such mails were sent to the probe agency earlier as well, the official added.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Deepak Ranga, the main shooter in the Rocket-Propelled Grenade attack on Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali in May 2022, the investigation agency said on Wednesday.
Deepak Ranga is a close associate of Canada-based gangster-turned-terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias Landa and Pakistan-based gangster-turned-terrorist Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda.

The NIA made startling revelations in a charge sheet filed in connection with Praveen Nettaru killing before a special court in Bengaluru.

As part of its agenda to create terror, communal hatred and unrest in society and to further its agenda of establishing Islamic rule in India by 2047, the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) formed secret teams called 'Service Teams' or 'Killer Squads' to carry out killings of its 'perceived enemies' and targets.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) made these revelations in a charge sheet filed on Friday before a special court in Bengaluru pertaining to the killing of BJP's Yuva Morcha district committee member Praveen Nettaru on July 26 last year in Bellare village of Sullia Taluk in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district. Nettaru was killed in full public view with lethal weapons to create terror among the people at large and especially among members of a particular community.
The charge sheet, which was filed against 20 PFI members, further mentions that "these 'Service Team' members were given arms as well attack training and surveillance techniques training in order to identify, list out and to mount surveillance on individuals and leaders belonging to certain communities and groups". "These 'Service Team' members were further trained to assault and kill identified targets on the instructions of senior PFI leaders," said the NIA in the charge sheet.
In furtherance of conspiracy meetings by PFI members and leaders held at Bengaluru city, Sullia Town and Bellare village, said the charge sheet, adding "the head of district Service Team Mustafa Paichar was instructed to recce, identify and target a prominent member of a particular community".

Alishah laid down the family tree of Dawood Ibrahim and said that the gangster's first wife gets in touch with people through WhatsApp calls.
In a chargesheet filed by the NIA in the terror funding case, the agency has said that Alishah detailed the family tree of Dawood in his statement in which he claimed that the gangster has relocated himself to another location in Pakistan's Karachi. The NIA had registered a case against Dawood Ibrahim and his close aides in the terror funding case and had also arrested some people.
NIA had received information that Dawood Ibrahim is forming a special team, which can attack big leaders and businessmen in the country. They can spread violence in big cities. During the investigation of this case, the NIA recorded the statement of Alishah Parkar, son of Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar.
According to Alishah's statement, Dawood has four brothers (5 including himself) and four sisters. "Dawood Ibrahim has remarried. His second wife is a Pakistani Pathan," Alishah told NIA during the probe.

A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited Upper Dhangri village in Rajouri district of Jammu &amp; Kashmir on Tuesday.

The team is expected to note down details of the attacks and work in co-operation with sleuths of the Jammu &amp; Kashmir police. It will keep a tab on the pattern of the terror attacks claiming civilian lives - one occurred on Sunday evening and another one on Monday, in the same village in Rajouri district.&nbsp;
On January 2, one child died while 5 persons were injured in the explosion. Security forces had also found another improvised explosive device in the area.&nbsp;
A day earlier, terrorists had barged into 3 houses in the area and opened indiscriminate fire. At least 4 people died and 9 were injured in the 1 January attack.
Nearly a dozen were reported as injured in the two terror attacks and are receiving treatment in a Jammu hospital.&nbsp; L-G Manoj Sinha who visited the attack spot on Monday evening, announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakhs and a government job to the kin of those killed in the firing incident. While seriously injured would be given Rs 1 lakh.&nbsp;
