Set in Lahore, the film narrates the story of a married man who falls for a transgender woman. It stars Rasti Farooq, Alina Khan, who herself is a trans woman, and Sarwat Gilani in lead roles.
&lsquo;Joyland&rsquo; received a standing ovation from the audience on the opening night of the festival.&lsquo;Joyland&rsquo; was also awarded the Prix Queer Palm by Jury chaired by filmmaker Catherine Corsini on May 27.
In an interview with AFP, Alina Khan talked about her role in the film and said, &lsquo;My character Biba and I share a similar struggle.&rsquo;
She also hopes the film finds responsive audience when it releases in Pakistan.&lsquo;It's an ensemble film that deals with men, women, and gender politics and issues of various kinds that almost everybody can relate to. It's going to be interesting for the audience back home,&rsquo; she said.

A Pakistani national was arrested in injured condition after the BSF foiled an infiltration bid along the International Border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night, officials said.
This is the second infiltration attempt in the Samba sector in the past fortnight. Earlier, an intruder was shot dead by BSF along the border in the same sector on May 5.
"A Pakistani national was noticed attempting to sneak into this side from across the IB under the cover of darkness and was challenged by the Indian border guards," an official said.
He said BSF fired a few rounds, resulting in a bullet injury to the intruder in his back.

The&nbsp;Financial Action Task Force or the&nbsp;FATF, the world&rsquo;s top anti-terrorism monitoring group, on Friday voted to keep Pakistan on a grey list for the Imran Khan government&rsquo;s&nbsp;failure to fully comply&nbsp;with a 27-point action plan handed to it earlier.
The FATF&nbsp;said that not only have more than 4,000 terrorists gone missing&nbsp;from Pakistani government's records but the country has also taken in India's most wanted terrorists,&nbsp;Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed.
The latest decision comes as a huge setback for Imran Khan who had made efforts in the run-up to the virtual meeting of the FATF plenary to get his country off-the-hook. It could also mean that Pakistan will remain on the grey list for a minimum of six months till its performance can be reviewed.

In addition, there were also 242 incidents of cross-border firing between January and August in the Jammu region, along the international border with Pakistan. The govt informed that 8 soldiers and a number of civilians were killed in Pakistani firing.
