A high-level meeting between four union ministers, state education ministers, and education ministries secretaries will be held today to discuss the proposals for the conduct of Class 12 board exams and entrance examinations for professional courses amid the Covid pandemic. The virtual meeting will take place at 11:30 am and will be chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' will attend along with &nbsp;Smriti Zubin Irani and Prakash Javadekar.
Pokhriyal said on Saturday said PM Modi has desired that any decision that affects students has to be taken after consultation with states and the education stakeholders like the teachers, parents and students.
The Education Ministry, and the CBSE are &ldquo;exploring options&rdquo; regarding the conduct of examinations, keeping in view the safety of students and teachers, the Education Ministry said.

The JEE (Mains) exam will be conducted in four sessions spread over four consecutive months, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Wednesday. The minister added that the new system will offer students the flexibility to appear in the exam and a chance to improve their scores later. The first edition of the exam will be conducted under the new system from February 23 to 26, followed by rounds in March, April and May. The National Testing Agency, which is the nodal body that conducts the engineering and medical entrance exams, has decided to conduct the JEE in 13 languages.

Uttarakhand HC issues notice to Maha Guv over unpaid dues

The Uttrakhand&nbsp;High Court on Tuesday issued a show-cause&nbsp;notice to Maharashtra&nbsp;Governor&nbsp;Bhagat&nbsp;Singh&nbsp;Koshiyari&nbsp;asking him to submit his response over non-payment of pending dues as a former state CM. The Court was hearing a contempt petition against former Uttrakhand&nbsp;chief ministers for non-payment of dues during their respective tenures. Earlier in May last year, the court had ordered four former CMs&nbsp;including Koshiyari&nbsp;to pay 2.8 crore&nbsp;rupees to the state government within 6 months for the buildings they occupied. While&nbsp;Koshiyari's&nbsp;counsel BS Upadhyay&nbsp;confirmed that they will respond within four weeks, Ramesh&nbsp;Pokhriyal&nbsp;Nishank, Vijay&nbsp;Bahuguna,&nbsp;and Bhuvan&nbsp;Chand&nbsp;Khaduri&nbsp;have also not cleared their dues.&nbsp;
