There are just a few days left for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls. Ahead of that, QR code posters against BJP has cropped up in Tamil Nadu.&nbsp;
The posters were equipped with a barcode. It was also mentioned on the post, that read, 'scan the code and uncover the scams.' At the top, the posters have 'Ji PAY' written at the top.&nbsp;
As one scans the code, the poster leads the mobile phone user to a video. In the video, a person is heard explaining the BJP's alleged corruption through electoral bonds and alleged corruption in infrastructure projects, among others.&nbsp;
The video concluded by appealing to the voters to reject the BJP and support the INDIA bloc. As per reports, the posters were put up by the DMK functionaries.&nbsp;

Medicines soon to get QR codes to check for authenticity

In a move to eliminate the challenge of counterfeit products or fake medicines, the centre may soon ask drugmakers to print or affix bar codes or QR codes on the packets of medicines to help find out and trace genuine drug products.

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) had identified the list of 300 drugs, which include widely used medicines, such as painkillers, contraceptives, vitamins, blood-sugar, and hypertension medicines.
These brands would include the top-selling popular medicines in the Indian pharma market such as Allegra, Dolo, Augmentin, Saridon, Calpol, and Thyronorm among others.

Using modern technology to authenticate Banarasi sarees, the manufacturer will now weave a QR code into the saree&nbsp;to validate its credentials.&nbsp;

A research team at the Mechanical Engineering department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) has developed a QR code that will be woven into handloom Banarasi sarees to confirm their authenticity. This will also give assurance to the customers about the quality of the&nbsp;saree and they will not get duped into paying a hefty amount for low quality copies.&nbsp;
The manufacturer can weave the QR code into the&nbsp;saree, containing relevant fabric and manufacturing details. The new technique of weaved QR code will include the Handloom&nbsp;Mark Logo, Silk Mark and the&nbsp;Banaras Geographical Indications (GI) logo, along with other relevant information.&nbsp;
It should be noted that the QR code will be incorporated into the extra fabric of the blouse. This will not affect the fabric strength, style and the look of the saree will remain intact. The code will also help local and foreign customers to differentiate between handloom products and power loom products, as per the researchers.
