Ragi, a fibrous and nutritious whole food has become a popular cereal among fitness enthusiasts due to its ability to keep one satiated for a longer period of time. But this commonly found food item may also be adulterated with impurities that cannot be distinguished.&nbsp;
So, if you have even the slightest doubt regarding the purity of the packet of ragi lying in your kitchen, FSSAI is here to help you&nbsp;with another hack to test for adulteration.
Here&rsquo;s how to detect whether ragi is adulterated with rhodamine.
Take a cotton ball and soak it in water or vegetable oil. Next, take a bowl of ragi and rub the outer surface of the ragi with the soaked cotton ball. The cotton ball will show no colour change when rubbed on unadulterated ragi. But it turns red when rubbed on adulterated ragi.&nbsp;
