Actor Randeep Hooda expressed gratitude on April 14 to &lsquo;unknown men&rsquo; after Amir Sarfaraz, an underworld don linked to Sarabjit Singh's murder in 2013, was killed in Lahore, Pakistan. Sarfaraz was reportedly shot by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle.

<h3>Who is Amir Sarfaraz?</h3>
Amir Sarfaraz, also known as Tamba, was a wanted underworld figure in Pakistan. He was attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants at his home in Lahore's Islampura area on Sunday around 1:30 pm and later died from his injuries.
Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Punjab, was sentenced to death for espionage and for allegedly killing 14 Pakistani citizens in bomb blasts in Punjab province in 1990, a claim disputed by his family and Indian authorities. Sarabjit Singh's family maintains that he accidentally crossed the Pakistan border while farming.
In response to Amir Sarfaraz's death, Sarabjit Singh's daughter Swapandeep initially felt some satisfaction but quickly realized that this did not bring true justice. In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Swapandeep stated that what her family truly desired was a trial to determine why Sarabjit Singh was killed and who was responsible.
Sarabjit Singh passed away due to a cardiac arrest at Jinnah Hospital in Lahore on May 2, 2013. He had been in a coma for nearly a week following a severe assault by inmates in Central Jail Lahore, where he was attacked with bricks and iron rods.
His sister Dalbir Kaur fought for his release for several years before her death in 2022.
The film &lsquo;Sarabjit,&rsquo; directed by Omung Kumar, was released in 2016.

Amid the lukewarm box office response to his film 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,' Randeep Hooda has questioned American filmmaking, calling out Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning film 'Oppenheimer'. On the BeerBiceps podcast, the Indian actor said that the US tends to make &lsquo;propaganda&rsquo; films where Americans are depicted as heroes.

In a recent interview with Ranveer Allahabadia, Randeep Hooda slammed American filmmaking and called out Indians for not supporting the country's heroes. Suggesting that America tends to make &lsquo;propaganda&rsquo; films where Americans are depicted as heroes, the actor highlighted the aftermaths of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings.&nbsp;
He said, "America made Oppenheimer. That man built the atomic bomb. It was such a painful incident. In Japan, civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki detonated the bombs at night, but they were good guys. America is the good guy. What did they do in Vietnam? Their movies are propaganda; they tell the entire world that &lsquo;we are the best army; we are the good guys. Japanese and Germans are bad&rsquo; and history also has the same thing because they have written history. But this is not true.&rdquo;
Further, the actor claimed that the US makes pictures of their heroes like Oppenheimer and Truman, and the world watches them; however, Indians are always trying to demean their heroes because of political vendetta.&nbsp;

'Swatantra Veer Savarkar' is based on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The film has been directed by Randeep Hooda, who has also played the titular role. The film also stars Ankita Lokhande, and Amit Sial in pivotal roles. It is produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar. The film was released in theatres on March 22 in Hindi and Marathi. According to Sacnilk.com, the film has earned ₹11.35 crore so far at the box office.&nbsp;

The actor reportedly used to consume only dates and a glass of milk to lose weight for four months for his role as Savarkar. Following much anticipation, the newlyweds unveiled their intimate wedding snapshots on their Instagram handle shortly after the ceremony took place in Imphal. These pictures captured moments from their jaimala ceremony and other significant rituals, showcasing the couple adorned in exquisite traditional Manipuri attire.
When discussing Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram's wedding attire, the actor was elegantly attired in white, resembling a striking Manipuri groom, along with a white shawl. Lin Laishram, on the other hand, wore a Potloi or Polloi, a cylindrical skirt meticulously crafted from thick fabric and bamboo, adorned with satin, velvet, gems, and glitter. The traditional outfits
While the groom keeps it lowkey and simple, Manipuri brides have a distinct attire, seen in no other community across the world. The bride wears a skirt called &lsquo;Raslila&rsquo; on her wedding day. She puts on a red and black sarong which is known as Pindhan. The attire is completed with a blouse referred to as Silum.
Manipur is also known as the &lsquo;land of jewels&rsquo; and Manipuri brides make sure to don some of the most precious and trendy jewellery, mostly in Gold.
Pre-wedding customs
The people of Manipur believe in celebrating the day with joy and fun. The wedding process begins with the 'Hinaba' ritual which marks the very first meeting of the parents from both sides. Another interesting pre-wedding ritual is the 'Yathang thanaga', where the bride's parents visit the groom's house for a final round of approval. The engagement ceremony is then held and it is known as 'Heijapot'.
Manipuri wedding rituals
A Meitei woman welcomes the groom and his family as the wedding begins. The entire ceremony is completed around the tulsi (basil) plant. Next the bride and groom exchange garlands and take seven circles around the basil plant. After this, two women, one from each side release a pair of taki fish into the water. This is followed by a mega-feast!
Post wedding rituals
The last custom of a Manipuri wedding is the 'Mangani Chakouba', which takes place 5 days after the wedding. The newlyweds first visit the bride's place where they indulge in a delicious feast.

When reporters asked the actor if other Bollywood celebs would be attending their upcoming wedding, Randeep replied, &lsquo;It's just me.&rsquo;
He was also asked about his pre-wedding feelings and if he is nervous, and Randeep said, &lsquo;Well, everybody is.&rsquo;

Randeep, 47, and Lin took to Instagram to share the details about their wedding in the latter's hometown, which will be followed by a reception in Mumbai for their film industry friends.
"Taking a leaf out of Mahabharata where Arjuna married Manipuri warrior princess Chitrangada, we are getting married with the blessing from our family and friends.
"We are filled with immense joy to share that our marriage will take place on the 29th November, 2023, Imphal, Manipur, followed by a reception in Mumbai. As we set to embark on this journey, we seek your blessing and love for this union of cultures, for which we are forever indebted and grateful," the couple said in a joint statement.
The duo has been in a relationship for sometime. Lin, 37, is a model, actor and businesswoman, who has featured in films such as "Mary Kom", "Rangoon" and recently "Jaane Jaan".
Hooda was last seen in movie "Sergeant". His upcoming film is "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar", which he has also directed.&nbsp;

Actor Randeep Hooda who is gearing up for the release of his Netflix series 'CAT' has opened up about his choice of different looks for his films and how he remained so grounded inspite of appreciation.
In an exclusive interview with Indian Express talking about his different looks for every subject, he said, 'I give myself time. I&rsquo;m always very nervous and I always think that I will not be able to do it, this time people will catch me that I don&rsquo;t have any acting chops. I think that just keeps me in good stead and doesn&rsquo;t allow me to phone in my performance like many actors do. It is a natural thing as you are doing this day in and day out. I take a lot of breaks and do a lot of other things besides acting and being around movie people, which enriches me as a person.'
On being questioned about being grounded after getting all the appreciation, he said, 'I don&rsquo;t think I have won any awards in my life and I don&rsquo;t give a damn about them really. They are opinions. But, you aim to be honest with yourself and stay real. You&rsquo;re trying to be yourself most of the time; if you start faking it in real life you start faking it on screen. That&rsquo;s why I do not go to a lot of these events where you have to pretend to be this happy glamorous person, while you have a sh*tty life on the side. So, staying true to yourself and my work, and knowing that your job is not to please people keeps me grounded. I don&rsquo;t think people pleasers make good actors.'
The actor was quizzed about not being socialised with colleagues much, to which he said, 'That depends, every actor, every artiste, every writer, director has a different approach and opinion towards how they approach their work. And, real people and all that can also differ. That&rsquo;s my process to live my life, I don&rsquo;t know about doing it on screen. But I guess I do spend a lot of time with real people and not so much with film people because at some stage we all get alienated and enter our cocoon. If you&rsquo;re successful then you start living in an ivory tower. You will not be able to connect to people anymore, because you&rsquo;re living in an isolated vacuum, so as to speak. So, obviously you have to be in touch with reality and the best way to do so is to have a conversation with your mother, she&rsquo;ll put you right.'

Actor Randeep Hooda, who shocked everyone with his massive weight loss for his 2016 film &lsquo;Sarbajit&rsquo;, has once again shed kilos for his upcoming biopic of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. At the ongoing 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Randeep Hooda talked about weight loss and the consequences he faced.
Talking to news agency ANI, Randeep said, &lsquo;I have been underweight for a very long time...and I agree I shouldn't have been underweight for too long. However, the biopic on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar demands it and I love to push my limit and do everything possible to do justice to the character I am playing. It's not that I have to undergo transformation out of duty or something. It's just that I like to go through emotions of different characters. This kind of training makes me feel closer to the character.&rsquo;
However, he agrees that such body transformations are life threatening. He said, &lsquo;It does take a toll on health...so I try to take breaks and pause for a while. Taking breaks really help to undergo tough transformations.&rsquo;

The actor fulfilled his promise made to Dalbir in 2016 that he would offer his shoulder to carry her body when she dies. He also lit her pyre during the final rituals. 
Dalbir Kaur died on June 26 following a heart attack. 
She had fought for her brother Sarabjit's release from a Pakistani prison for 22 years. In 1991, Sarabjit was sentenced to death by a Pakistani court for spying and he died after being attacked by fellow inmates in Lahore in 2013.

He said that she 'fought a system, a country, it's people and her own to save her beloved brother Sarbjit' and he was fortunate to have received her love and blessings.
