Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday stated that the Skills University, Sports University, and Integrated Residential Schools being established in the state&mdash;each named 'Young India'&mdash;collectively constitute his "brand".
'Young India' brand is being created in Telangana today with Mahatma Gandhi's inspiration, he said.
After inaugurating the Young India Police School here, he said the title 'Young India' was not created by him but by Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhiji ran a journal named 'Young India' during the freedom movement, Reddy recalled, adding that it reflected "the voice of India." The first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, is hailed for his stellar contributions to the country's progress after Independence, while former PM Indira Gandhi is known for her pro-poor welfare measures with the slogan 'roti, kapda aur makaan' (food, clothing, and shelter), he said.
Reddy said he is often asked by political analysts and journalists why he has not been able to "create a brand of his own" despite being in power for the last 16 months.
He said former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and TDP founder N T Rama Rao is known for his iconic Rs 2-a-kg rice scheme, while incumbent Andhra CM N Chandrababu Naidu is credited with the growth of the IT sector in Hyderabad.
He also recalled the contributions of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, a son of the soil, in introducing economic reforms in the country.
Another former CM of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, is applauded for initiating irrigation projects, the CM said.
Taking a veiled dig at BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said some claim the recognition of having fought for Telangana statehood and its formation.
"Analysts and well-wishers ask me whether I would go unnoticed as a chief minister without any brand. I would like to tell analysts, critics, and the people of the state&mdash;Young India is my brand," Reddy said.
He said all the students of the Young India Skills University, set up in the state with Anand Mahindra of the Mahindra Group as its head, are assured of employment.
Big corporates are showing interest in the proposed Young India Sports University, he said.
Observing that the social welfare residential schools set up in the state earlier lacked even basic facilities, he said his government is establishing Young India Integrated Residential Schools in every Assembly constituency, with Rs 200 crore allocated for each school.
Talking about the reforms being initiated in school education, Reddy said the government is considering introducing preschool classes for poor children to provide quality education and ensure their continued primary education in government schools.
The government is also considering providing breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks to children attending such preschool classes, he added.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and sought approval for the expansion of Hyderabad metro rail project and funding for the Musi river redevelopment in the city, among others.
During the meeting held on Wednesday, the Chief Minister told Modi that the previous government in its 10-year tenure had failed to prioritise the expansion of the metro rail in Hyderabad, an official release said.
Reddy briefed the PM on the proposed second phase of the metro rail project, which includes a 76.4 km stretch with five corridors at an estimated cost of Rs 24,269 crore and urged for the immediate approval of this ambitious project.
Since Telangana is a landlocked state, the CM requested Modi to sanction a Dry Port near the Regional Ring Road in Hyderabad to facilitate exports and imports of goods.
The CM also proposed a greenfield road along with a rail line to connect the Dry Port to a seaport.
Outlining the state government's plans for rejuvenation of Musi river in Hyderabad, Reddy urged Modi to extend Rs 20,000 crore financial assistance for the project.
The Musi project includes the development of Bapu Ghat, a memorial for Mahatma Gandhi in the city on the banks of Musi river, construction of 27 STPs (Sewage Treatment Plants), retaining walls and linking the Musi with Godavari river, it said.
Highlighting the ecosystem in the state, the Chief Minister requested Modi to sanction a 'India Semiconductor Mission project'.
Besides, the CM appealed to Modi to approve the southern part of Regional Ring Road (RRR) in Hyderabad and said 90 percent of the land acquisition has already been completed in the northern part.
The CM asserted that the RRR can be best utilised only if the RRR works in the southern and northern parts are completed simultaneously.
He also explained the proposal to develop a Regional Ring Rail project parallel to the RRR which would boost railway connectivity in Telangana and neighbouring states.

The meeting followed a tragic incident on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre, where a large crowd gathered to see Allu Arjun.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reassured Tollywood actors and filmmakers that his government stands firmly behind the Telugu film industry, emphasizing that law and order will not be compromised. This statement came after tensions arose between the state government and the film industry following the arrest of actor Allu Arjun, star of Pushpa 2.
In a meeting held on Thursday, Reddy addressed the concerns of Tollywood figures and clarified the government's stance. He stressed that while the film industry is valued, celebrities must take responsibility for their actions and manage their fanbases effectively to avoid such incidents in the future. The meeting, which took place at the Telangana State Police Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills, saw the attendance of several prominent actors and filmmakers, including Nagarjuna, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Kalyan Ram, and Venkatesh. Directors like Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi, and K Raghavendra Rao, along with producers such as Suresh Babu and Allu Aravind, were also present.
The meeting followed a tragic incident on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre, where a large crowd gathered to see Allu Arjun. Chaos ensued when the actor waved to his fans from the sunroof of his car, leading to the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuries to her young child.
While some Congress leaders criticized Allu Arjun for his actions, claiming the incident was purely accidental, CM Revanth Reddy had earlier accused the actor of violating safety protocols by organizing a &ldquo;roadshow&rdquo; in front of the theatre. Allu Arjun, however, refuted the accusations, stating that it was not a roadshow but a casual greeting to his fans.
The controversy intensified when Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad Police on December 13 in connection with the incident. He was later granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court the following day. Despite the arrest, the actor continued to deny any wrongdoing, calling the allegations an attempt at character assassination.
The political fallout of the incident continues, with CM Reddy asserting that the police had denied permission for such an event due to safety concerns, a claim which Allu Arjun strongly disputed.

Delhi Police has asked Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to join its probe on May 1 in connection with Union Home Minister Amit Shah's doctored video being circulated on social media, official sources said on Monday.
According to the sources, the police have issued notices to five members of the Telangana Congress, including its chief Reddy, who posted the video on X.
Reddy has been asked to appear with his mobile phone allegedly used for posting the fake video on X, the sources said.
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police had on Sunday registered an FIR after the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs, filed a complaint about the doctored video of Shah where his statements indicating a commitment to abolish quota for Muslims on religious ground in Telangana were changed to make it seem that he was advocating scrapping of all reservations.
The sources in the Special Cell said that now arrests are likely to follow across the country.
Earlier, Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP's IT department, had alleged that the Telangana Congress unit was circulating a doctored video of Shah that was entirely fabricated and capable of inciting widespread violence.
A police complaint was also filed by the BJP.
The Delhi Police filed the FIR under sections 153 (causing provocation with intention to cause riot), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc), 465 (forgery), 469 (forgery to harm the reputation of any party), and 171G (publishing false statement with intent to affect the result of an election) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the Information Technology Act, the police said.
Meanwhile, the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Special Cell has now approached social media platforms to identify the source of the video and those who have spread it.
"We have formed many teams to investigate the matter properly and arrest the main culprits. We have written to X, formerly known as Twitter, and other social media platforms regarding the video. We are investigating both the source of the video and those responsible for its widespread circulation," said another source.
According to the complaint filed by Sinku Sharan Singh of I4C, some doctored videos are being circulated on social media with "the intent of creating disharmony among communities which is likely to affect public tranquillity and public order".
"The video seems to be doctored, spreading misleading information with the intention of creating disharmony among communities which is likely to affect public tranquillity and public order issues. It is requested to kindly take necessary legal action as per the provisions of law."&nbsp;

Congress leader Anumula Revanth Reddy will be sworn-in as the new chief minister of Telangana today. The ceremony will be held at the sprawling Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad. As per a Hindustan Times report, a number of INDIA bloc leaders are expected to attend the event. Citing a Congress functionary, the report said that Reddy dialled a number of opposition leaders over the past two days and personally requested them to attend the ceremony. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Sonia Gandhi are also expected to attend. On Wednesday, Reddy met with several leaders in Delhi including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Manikrao Thakre, KC Venugopal and Mallikarjun Kharge and invited them to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
