Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020. His son, Ranbir Kapoor, tied the knot with actor Alia Bhatt on April 14, 2022. Their daughter, Raha Kapoor, was born in November 2022.

In December last year, during Christmas, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt made their first public appearance with their daughter, Raha. ‘He came into Bollywood with a movie named 'Deshdrohi' and is really acting like one. Even when the world is going through a pandemic, I can't understand his inhumane behaviour and spreading hatred in all spheres of life.’, he said in his complaint.
‘After Irrfan Khan, who is India's pride, passed away, he was making poor claims and statements on him. He was also talking rubbish about senior actor late Rishi Kapoor also,’ he added.
However, as per Hindustan Times, KRK’s lawyer has claimed that he was arrested for tweets against actor Akshay Kumar and a film producer over the film ‘Laxmi Bomb’.
In his career KRK has contributed to a few Bhojpuri films and just two Hindi films, one is the action-thriller film 'Deshdrohi' and the second is 2014 runaway hit 'Ek Villain', where he had a cameo appearance.

Sharmaji Namkeen traces the post-retirement life of B.G. Sharma. He aspires to start something new as he doesn't want to conform to a life designed by society. Hereon, the audience walks with Sharmaji in his quest to follow his passion for cooking and attending kitty parties. In parallel, he continues his battle against the 'pre-set notions" and rejections of society and his son.

Suhail Nayyar warrants a special mention for his performance. It is not easy to stand out in front of brilliant actors like Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal. But, Nayyar is effortless. Other co-actors - Satish Kaushik, Isha Talwar, Sheeba Chaddha &ndash; have played their part well. Juhi Chawla and Rishi Kapoor take us back to an era when romance was more about emotional chemistry. Their on-screen chemistry is adorable as always. Parmeet Sethi's presence lit up the screen.
Director Hitesh Bhatia has done complete justice to Rishi Kapoor and the film. He ensured to retain the simplicity and charm of the actor. The shift between Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal was smooth. The writing is crisp, honest, non-dramatic, and definitely not preachy! But above all, Sharmaji is 'entertaining'.
Hitesh pays a perfect homage to Rishi Kapoor in the end credits. A behind-the-scenes clip brings back Rishi Kapoor where he says, "Now, this can't be done better than this."
