An incident was reported on Sunday, where two-cable cars in a ropeway clashed with each other, leading to two people being killed and many injured. The incident took place at Trikatu hills close to Baba Baidyanath Temple in Jharkhand's Deoghar district.
As the particular incident reported is not the first incident. Several such incidents have been reported earlier as well. The major and the first tragedic ropeway accident happened in Jan 2003 in Gujarat where seven people lost their lives and 20 got injured after the three cable cars crashed down. In the same year, another accident took place at West Bengal's Darjeeling where four tourists were killed, when two cable cars fell from the ropeway into a ravine. When such kinds of accidents are reported, people around the world are afraid to travel via cable cars. Similarly, in July 2016 a 26-year old fell from a cable car into the Mandakini river and lost his life, later in the same year in September, a 7-year old girl fell from a trolley and died.Again in 2017, another major incident was reported in Gulmarg, where a tree fell on a cable car and took the lives of seven people.
