Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Sunil Ambekar has called for decisive action from the Indian government to address ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Sunil Ambekar has called for decisive action from the Indian government to address ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Speaking at an event organized by the Sakal Hindu Samaj in Nagpur, Ambekar stressed the need for stronger measures to protect the minority Hindu community in the neighboring country.
"The government must intensify its efforts. While dialogue remains an option, alternative solutions must be considered if discussions fail to resolve the issue," said Ambekar, who heads the RSS&rsquo;s publicity division. The event was convened to condemn attacks targeting Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
Ambekar described the violence as reminiscent of oppression during the Mughal era. "Our temples are being desecrated, homes plundered, and women subjected to atrocities. Every Hindu should feel the pain of these events. Mere condemnation is insufficient; we must take proactive steps," he emphasized.
He further argued that the attacks aim to displace the Hindu population. "Similar atrocities are being carried out in Pakistan as well. If we remain silent, future generations will question our inaction," he warned.
Criticizing Bangladesh's interim administration led by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus, Ambekar accused the government of failing to curb the violence. "A country led by a peace prize recipient should not witness such unrest. Yet, there is no meaningful action to address these crimes," he remarked.
Ambekar also highlighted the role of "global forces" in fomenting unrest in Bangladesh and urged their identification and exposure. "Such powers need to be confronted and held accountable for their interference," he added.
The RSS has repeatedly raised concerns about the situation in Bangladesh. In a statement issued on November 30, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale criticized the Bangladeshi government for its inaction, describing it as a "silent spectator" to the atrocities.
Earlier, in October, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat condemned the escalating violence against Bangladeshi Hindus, noting that the attacks intensified after protests over a controversial quota system spiraled into anti-government demonstrations. These events eventually led to the removal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from office in August.

Speaking to reporters, NCP leader and state minister Chhagan Bhujbal said, "To some extent, it (article) may be true. Some have also criticised the BJP for including leaders from the Congress, such as former chief minister Ashok Chavan. Even former Congress leader Milind Deora was inducted by CM Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and made an RS member." "But who will talk about the result in Uttar Pradesh, where the BJP's seats decreased? What about other states where they lost some seats?" he asked.
Later, NCP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Praful Patel said, "An article in a weekly does not reflect the BJP's stance. It should not be interpreted in that manner." However, NCP youth wing leader Sooraj Chavan lashed out saying the when the BJP performs well, credit is given to the hard work of the RSS but a defeat is blamed on Ajit Pawar.
Hitting back, BJP MLC Pravin Darekar said, "The RSS is like a father figure to all of us. There is no need to make comments about the RSS. Sooraj Chavan should not have rushed to comment on the organisation. The BJP has not commented against the NCP. It would be better if such issues are discussed during NDA meetings."

&ldquo;When peace restoration is in sight, some incident occurs. It widens the gap between the communities. Who is behind the people who were doing such acts? Who is instigating the violence?&rdquo; he asked.
The RSS chief said he was proud of the Sangh workers who worked in Manipur to restore peace.
Bhagwat cautioned against attempts to garner votes by inflaming emotions ahead of the 2024 general elections.
He asked people to vote keeping in mind the unity, integrity, identity and development of the country.
He referred to the use of "toolkits" that incite violence and create mutual mistrust and hatred. &ldquo;Those who wish for unity cannot insist that all problems should first end before we think about unity. We will have to work peacefully and with restraint, without getting distracted by sporadic events,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;Three elements, devotion to the motherland, pride in forefathers, and common culture, make us one nation by tying together all diversities of language, region, religion, sect, caste and sub-caste,&rdquo; Bhagwat said, adding that even those who follow faiths originating from outside India should uphold these elements.
Bhagwat said cultural Marxists and woke elements promote anarchy, chaos and corruption. With their influence in media, academia and other sectors, they seek to disrupt societal orderliness, morality, culture, dignity, and restraint, he added.
Lauding the government for successfully hosting the G20 Summit, Bhagwat said, &ldquo;Everyone witnessed Bharat&rsquo;s genuine goodwill and diplomatic tact in getting the African Union accepted as a member.&rdquo; &ldquo;By successfully holding the G20 Summit, our leadership has done a commendable job of firmly establishing Bharat as a major nation on the global stage," Bhagwat said.
&ldquo;The desire to preserve the identity of Bharat and the identity of the Hindu society is only natural. It is no surprise, then, that a crisis-ridden world expects Bharat to emerge with a new vision based on its own value systems, to meet the contemporary needs and challenges of the globe,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;The world is facing the scourge of fanaticism, arrogance, and hysteria stemming from religious sectarianism. Any solution to conflicts like the war in Ukraine or the Gaza Strip, which arise due to a clash of interests and extremism, remains elusive,&rdquo; he said.

Hosabale said Didolkar maintained cordial relations and respected the views of others without compromising on his ideology.
"There can be opposition to ideology. Ideological opposition is a different thing but one should not bear opposition at the personal level in society. When we live in society, we should not have enmity against each other but live a simple life on principles of humanity and justice," he added.
Hosabale said Dattopant Thengdi, founder of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, had very cordial relations with many Communist leaders while working for the rights of labourers, "which is taught to us by Sangh".
"Ideological opposition is a different thing. There can be dissent. But, no one has taught us to live with hatred for each other in society. People like Dattaji have taught us this discernment and to have a big heart," the RSS leader said.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP MP and Union minister Nitin Gadkari recalled his long association with Didolkar during his Vidyarthi Parishad days.

The RSS chief said that when every work is being done for society, then jobs cannot be considered small or big or different from each other. He reportedly said that everyone is equal in the eyes of god and no caste or sect exists before him. All these things were created by priests, which is wrong, Bhagwat said.
Giving an example, he said a man engaged in washing cups and utensils set up a paan stall with a small corpus of funds. "The paan shop owner went on to generate a wealth of around Rs 28 lakh...But despite that (such examples), our youth keep applying (for jobs) without getting any reply (from the employer)," Bhagwat said.

Hindu Jan Akrosh Morcha, organised by Sakal Hindu Samaj, began from Shivaji Park in Dadar in central Mumbai and culminated at Kamgar Maidan in Parel, covering a distance of more than 4 km.
Activists shouted slogans against "love jihad", and demanded anti-conversion laws and a crackdown on land grabbing in the name of religion.
Several leaders and MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and those of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction also participated in the rally.
Police personnel were deployed along the route of the march to prevent any untoward incident.
"Love jihad" is a term often used by the right-wing to allege a ploy by Muslim men to lure Hindu women into religious conversion through marriage.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said last December that the government would study laws on "love jihad" framed by other states and take an appropriate decision.
He had also spoken about a "feeling" in the legislature regarding the Shraddha Walkar case that instances of "love jihad" are seen at a large scale in the state.

Political strategist turned activist Prashant Kishor on Sunday compared the BJP-RSS combine to a cup of coffee in which the party was like the frothy top and the parent body was the real thing underneath.
Kishor, who is on a 3,500 kilometres long "pada-yatra" in Bihar, came up with the colourful analogy at Lauria in West Champaran district which he has been covering on foot since October 2.
Kishor lamented that it took him long to realise that "the ideology of (Nathuram) Godse can be defeated only by reviving Gandhi&rsquo;s Congress" and "it would have been better had I worked in that direction instead of helping people like Nitish Kumar and Jagan Mohan Reddy realise their ambitions".

Kishor also continued to hurl barbs at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, whose JD(U) has been calling him a "BJP agent".
"I was the JD(U) national vice president when the nation was on the boil against CAA-NPR-NRC. I was appalled to learn that MPs of my party had voted in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Parliament," recalled the 45-year-old, often perceived to be as ideologically agnostic.
"I confronted Nitish Kumar, who was then our national president. He claimed he was away on a tour and not aware of the development but glibly assured me that he will not allow NRC in Bihar. The duplicity made me realise I cannot work with this man," said Kishor who was expelled from JD(U) over the spat with Kumar.
Kishor, whose much-anticipated entry into the Congress could not fructify last year despite meetings with its top leaders, hinted that he still admired the organisation but in its old avatar under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi.
"Godse's ideology can be defeated only by reviving the Congress of Gandhi," said Kishor, in an oblique reference to alleged RSS links of the Mahatma's assassin.

"Our's is a peaceful march and the Madras High Court has already granted permission. We will approach the issue legally," a senior leader told PTI.
The RSS had already issued a legal notice to State Home Secretary Phanindra Reddy, DGP C Sylendra Babu and Tiruvallur police inspector seeking to know why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against them for disobeying the court order.

RJD president Lalu Prasad on Wednesday called the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh a "Hindu extremist organisation" that deserved to be banned.
Prasad made the remark replying to queries from journalists about the Union Home Ministry's ban on Popular Front of India and several of its associates under a stringent anti-terror law.
"They keep raising the bogey of PFI. It is the RSS, which is all about Hindu extremism (‘kattarpanth’), which deserves to be banned first,” said the septuagenarian with characteristic candor.
Prasad, who is away in Delhi in connection with his party's organisational polls, reiterated that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will see a "wipe out" (‘safaya ho jayega’) of the BJP, the political offshoot of the RSS, which is ruling at the Centre for the second consecutive term.
The ailing RJD chief replied with an emphatic "bilkul" (of course) when asked whether he hoped that his son Tejashwi Yadav, currently the deputy CM of Bihar, will one day rule the state.
However, the staunch loyalist of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi gave a guarded response when asked if he foresaw a situation where Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will "run the country" (‘desh ko sambhalenge’).
"’Sab log mil kar sambhalenge’ (we all will run the show together),” said Prasad, who along with Kumar, had met Gandhi on Sunday.
"We had fruitful talks with Sonia Gandhi. There will be more meetings as the situation evolves,” he said.
The RJD supremo also frowned upon many BJP leaders raising questions as to why photographs of the meeting with Gandhi were not released, and whether Nitish and he returned after a long wait, without having met her.
"We had gone to meet a lady in her chamber. Was it a photo session? We must have spoken for an hour or so and they claim there was no meeting,” the former Bihar CM said.

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday hit out at its detractors for "concocting" his statements for a "nefarious and fabricated" campaign for political mileage.
The outspoken minister, who last week was dropped from the BJP parliamentary board, hinted at taking legal recourse in the larger interest of the government and the party.
"Today, once again, efforts were being made to continue the nefarious and fabricated campaign against me for political mileage on my behest by some section of mainstream media, social media and some persons in particular by concocting my statements at public programmes without context or correct reference," he tweeted.
He tweeted a YouTube link of his speech made at a book launch function on Tuesday that was selectively being used on social media.
"Although, I've never been disturbed by such malicious agendas of fringe elements but all concerned are hereby warned that If such mischief continues, I will not hesitate to take them to the law in the larger interest of our Government, Party and millions of our hardworking Karyakartas," he tweeted tagging BJP president J P Nadda and Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
A storyteller, Gadkari had at the book launch narrated an old incident where he had taken up the cause of building a road to a village in Maharashtra and had told the concerned official that if he stood by him it was fine but even otherwise it was fine with him.
"... I am not bothered about the consequences but I will do this job. If possible stand by me else I am not bothered," he had said at the book launch referring to his conversation with the concerned official.
This statement was cut to project on social media to say as if he was not bothered about losing his position.
In particular, Aam Aadmi Party's Sanjay Singh had tweeted that truncated video, asking why Gadkari was saying this. "BJP mein bahut badi gadbad chal rahi hai (there is something amiss in BJP)," he tweeted on Thursday morning.
Gadkari's tweet also came on a day when a leading newspaper carried a report quoting multiple senior BJP sources to say the former party president was dropped from the parliamentary board for his propensity to make "out of turn" and colourful remarks.
The Minister in the tweet on Thursday said he was sharing the link of what he had actually said at the book launch to clear the air.
