Sachin will lead India Masters at the International Masters League with his side facing Sri Lanka Masters in the opening match on November 17. The league will bring together legendary cricketers like Brian Lara, Kumar Sangakkara, Eoin Morgan, and Shane Watson among others from six cricketing powerhouses, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, South Africa, and the West Indies in a thrilling T20 franchise tournament.</p>

Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second largest after Uttar Pradesh. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases, running from April 19 to June 1. The counting and results will be declared on June 4.

<p>Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and his son Arjun Tendulkar were among the celebrities who voted during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Monday.</p>
<p>Sachin Tendulkar was seen at a polling booth in Mumbai with his son. The Tendulkar's reside in the posh Bandra West locality in the city.</p>
<p>Sachin Tendulkar, who is also the 'national icon' of the election commission spoke to the media, urged people to cast their vote, stating that it is 'extremely important' for nation-building.</p>

<p>"We were busy making bats when a vehicle stopped at our gate. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Little Master and his family," Mohammad Shaheen Parray, owner of MJ Sports, told PTI over phone.</p>
<p>Parray said Tendulkar checked the quality of the bats made of Kashmir willow.&nbsp;<br><br>"He stroked a few bats and was quite pleased with the quality. Tendulkar said he had come to compare the Kashmir willow bats with those made of English willow.</p>
<p>"We requested him to lend his voice in support of the local bats," Parray said, adding the batting maestro promised to support the Kashmir willow bats.</p>
<p>Parray said Tendulkar spent an hour at the manufacturing unit and interacted with a small bunch of fans.</p>

<p>An FIR has been registered under section 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 66 (A) (sending offensive messages through communication service) of the IT Act on a complaint filed by the former cricketer&rsquo;s personal assistant at the West Region Cyber police station on Tuesday, the official said.</p>
<p>Earlier, a deepfake video, carrying a digitally manipulated clip and voice of Tendulkar, was shared on Facebook in which it was falsely shown that the former ace batsman was promoting a gaming app.</p>
<p>The deepfake also sought to create an impression that Tendulkar and his daughter Sara had won large sums of money by playing a certain online game.</p>
<p>According to the complaint, the video was edited and posted on Facebook. It said deepfake technology was used to mimic Tendulkar&rsquo;s gesture and voice.</p>
<p>At this stage, the police did not share details about the owner of the gaming site and the Facebook page.</p>
<p>Tendulkar himself had flagged the fake video on his official X handle. He called the video a &ldquo;disturbing&rdquo; misuse of technology and stressed that it was fake.</p>
<p>&ldquo;These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads and apps like these in large numbers,&rdquo; Tendulkar had appealed on X.</p>

<p>The video shows Tendulkar talking about the merits of the application, saying he did not know that money making has become so easy and that his own daughter uses the platform.</p>
<p>Tendulkar, one of the best cricketers to have graced the game of cricket, posted the video along with a message in which he expressed concern about misuse of technology.</p>
<p>"These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads &amp; apps like these in large numbers," Tendulkar, 50, posted on social media platform X.</p>
<p>The voice used in the video matches Tendulkar's.</p>
<p>"Social Media platforms need to be alert and responsive to complaints. Swift action from their end is crucial to stopping the spread of misinformation and deepfakes," he wrote further.</p>
<p><strong>Govt mulling 'tighter rules'</strong></p>
<p>Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar reacted to Tendulkar's post and said tighter rules under the Information Technology Act will be shortly notified by the government.</p>
<p>"Thank you @sachin_rt for this tweet. DeepFakes and misinformation powered by #AI are a threat to Safety&amp;Trust of Indian users and represents harm &amp; legal violation that platforms hv to prevent and take down.</p>
<p>"Recent Advisory by @GoI_MeitY requires platforms to comply wth this 100%. We will be shortly notifying tighter rules under IT Act to ensure compliance by platforms," Chandrasekhar tweeted.</p>
<p>Actors Tom Hanks and Rashmika Mandanna are among famous personalities to have fallen victim to deepfakes in recent times.</p>
<p>Deepfakes refers to use of an image or recording that has been altered and manipulated to misrepresent someone as doing or saying something that was not actually done or said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tendulkar dedicated the evening to all the cricketing colleagues who supported him during his 24-year international career for India.</p>

<p>Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday got his deserved place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.</p>
<p>Coming to the revered venue as a 10-year-old kid, watching a match without a ticket way back in 1983, and witnessing his own life-sized statue being installed after four decades, it has been a journey to remember for the legendary Tendulkar.</p>
<p>The batting great's statue was unveiled at his home ground by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at a grand ceremony.</p>
<p>Tendulkar was accompanied by his wife Anjali and daughter Sara. The dignitaries present on the occasion were former BCCI and ICC chief Sharad Pawar, incumbent BCCI secretary Jay Shah, treasurer Ashish Shelar, vice-president Rajiv Shukla and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Amol Kale among others.</p>
<p>Tendulkar dedicated the evening to all the cricketing colleagues who supported him during his 24-year international career for India.</p>
<p>'Quite a few players that I played with, without their support, and their contribution, I would not have been able to last 24 years with India, So on this special evening, I would like to dedicate this to all the cricketers who have played with me, and not just played with me but they have also inspired millions (of people) across the globe. I think it's everyone's hard work which takes the game forward, and that is our ultimate goal, how can we keep cricket protected and get more eyeballs to the game. Fantastic news that cricket has been now included in the Olympics. So another opportunity for us to get the gold medal.'</p>
