The move comes about 6 months after, the investment company initiated an internal review of its investment in FTX, which resulted in the writedown of $275 million

Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings has said that the company had cut the compensation for the team that was responsible for its investment in the bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange company. The senior management has also taken a pay cut.
As per the chairman Lim Boom Heng, the employees took collective responsibility for the investment decision and had their compensation cut.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Although there was no misconduct by the investment team in reaching their investment recommendation, the investment team and senior management, who are ultimately responsible for investment decisions made, took collective accountability and had their compensation reduced,&rdquo; Temasek Chairman Lim Boon Heng said in a statement posted on Temasek&rsquo;s website on Monday.
However, the details of the compensation is yet to be released. This move comes about 6 months after, the investment company initiated an internal review of its investment in FTX. This led to the writedown of $275 million.
As per Temasek, its total investment in FTX is 0.09% of its net portfolio value. The value stands at $403 billion as of 31st March 2022. Other investors of FTX including SoftBank Group Corp's Vision Fund and Sequoia Capital had also brought down their investment to zero after the cryptocurrency exchange company filed for bankruptcy. &nbsp;

India's second largest IT firm Infosys has reportedly slashed the employees' variable pay for the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal amid shrinking profitability. Moneycontrol reports citing sources that an email was sent to employees stating that at an organisation level, the average variable payout is 70 percent. The email indicated that the pressure on margins is from higher cost of attrition and talent retention as salary levels soar in the tech sector. With a net addition of 21,000 employees during the quarter, Infosys is clearing adding firmly to the wage bill. But Infosys is not alone in taking this action against variable pay. Wipro had announced that the company will not be paying out the variable pay to employees in Band C and junior-level employees will receive 70 percent of their variable pay. TCS had delayed variable pay by a month for specific grades of employees.

Amid this financial unease, many Gen Zs and millennials are redefining their working patterns. As many as 43% of Gen Zs and 33% of millennials have a second part- or full-time paying job in addition to their primary job. A small, but growing, percentage are also moving to less expensive cities with remote jobs.&nbsp;
To address financial concerns, Gen Zs and millennials are actively exploring new working models to widen their income. Pay is the No. 1 reason why Gen Zs and millennials left a role in the last two years. However, good work/life balance and learning/development opportunities were the top priorities when choosing an employer.
There is also a clear demand for more flexible working. Currently, 49% of Gen Zs and 45% of millennials work remotely.&nbsp;Saving money on expenses like commuting, clothes, dry cleaning, and more is one of the top reasons that many Gen Zs and millennials prefer hybrid or remote work. A smaller percentage are taking advantage of remote work to relocate to less expensive cities. This appears to be a growing trend, roughly 15% of Gen Zs and millennials say they've done so this year, up from the 9% of respondents in last year's survey who said they'd temporarily or permanently moved out of a major city.

A 45-year-old labourer's hand was chopped off allegedly by his employer when he asked for his pending wages in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district, an official said on Sunday, adding three persons were arrested.
The incident occurred at Dolmau village under the Sirmaur police station, about 40 km away from the Rewa district headquarters, on Saturday, police said.
The victim, Ashok Saket, who belongs to Scheduled Caste, had earlier worked as a labourer in construction work for one Ganesh Mishra in Dolmau village, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shiv Kumar Verma said, adding that Mishra was allegedly dilly-dallying paying the pending wages.
Saket, a resident of Padri village, and another person met Mishra on Saturday to resolve the matter. However, a heated argument broke out between them, following which Mishra and others allegedly attacked Saket with a sharp weapon and severed one of his hands.
The accused tried to hide the severed arm nearby, which was traced later, the ASP said.
Police rushed the labourer to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where a team of doctors reattached the severed hand after surgery, he said.
The condition of the victim, however, is critical due to excessive blood loss, he said quoting doctors.
Police arrested Mishra and his brothers Ratnesh Mishra and Krishna Kumar Mishra under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, an official said.

Amitabh Chaudhry, who has been leading the third largest private sector lender Axis Bank, got paid Rs 6.52 crore, the bank's annual report said, adding that the top management was not given any salary increment in FY21.
