In a letter, Altman and husband Oliver Mulherin credited &ldquo;the hard work, brilliance, generosity, and dedication to improve the world of many people that built the scaffolding of society that let us get here.&rdquo;
&ldquo;There is nothing we can do except feel immense gratitude and commit to pay it forward, and do what we can to build the scaffolding up a little higher,&rdquo; the pair added.
As per Bloomberg, Altman is worth at least $2 billion. Most of his wealth is drawn from startup investments, including a sizable investment in Reddit and he doesn't posses stake in OpenAI.

Billionaires Warren Buffett and the formerly married couple, Bill and Melinda French Gates started the Giving Pledge in 2010 &nbsp;to get the world&rsquo;s wealthiest to commit to donating at least half of their fortunes to charities and philanthropic causes either during their lifetimes or in their wills.
The campaign's intention is to &ldquo;inspire conversations, discussions, and action, not just about how much [to give] but also for what purposes and to what end,&rdquo; according to the website. It is only a moral committment and not a legal binding.

The Board's decision to hire Shear has defied all the calls from the investors to reinstate Altman as the CEO of OpenAI. As per Bloomberg, Shear had won over the directors as he recognised the existential threats AI posed. The Board was concerned that Sam Altman was moving too quickly, without sufficient concern to the safety implications of a technology that, left unchecked, could create content capable of harming the public.
Shear had stepped down ast the CEO of Amazon.com Inc's game streaming platform Twitch earlier this year.

After the fiasco, the ChatGPT maker is also considering launching a new AI venture. In an effort to take on OpenAI and Google, India's Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) major Zoho is building its own large language model that is similar to OpenAI's GPT and Google's PaLM 2 models. Zoho's founder Sridhar Vembu is overlooking the project.
Zoho's Research and Development team is working on the AI language model. Meanwhile, Zoho's vice president of marketing and customer experience Praval Singh has said that the company had been working on AI for the past 10 years. He further added that Zoho provided 13 of its apps with ChatGPT integration.&nbsp;
"We have been working on artificial intelligence for a decade now. When customers needed ChatGPT integration, we gave them that by integration with 13 of our apps as we announced recently," Praval Singh, vice president of marketing and customer experience, Zoho said in Delhi on June 14.&nbsp;
"In the short term, we have built the integration with ChatGPT... But we are also building proprietary large language models that will be capable of summarising, paraphrasing and adapting to new tasks. However, we have not set a specific timeline for it," he added.
This comes, days after OpenAI founder and CEO Sam Altman stirred controversy when he said that it would be "hopeless" for an Indian startup with $10 million in funding to work on a foundational LLM. Later, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar had replied that OpenAI chief Sam Altman is not the final word on India's AI aspirations.&nbsp;
