A week after the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/cabinet-reshuffle-2021-scindia-puri-sonowal-among-bigwigs-take-oath-1625670255130" target="_blank">major reshuffle of the cabinet</a>, the government has now made changes in the Cabinet Committees.
Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani, Environment and Labour Minister Bhupender Yadav and Ports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal are now a part of the key Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, which is headed by PM Narendra Modi.
The reconstituted Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs comprises the prime minister, and Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Narendra Singh Tomar, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Pralhad Joshi, Sarbananda Sonowal, Giriraj Singh, Mansukh Mandaviya and Bhupender Yadav.
Former ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Harsh Vardhan are no longer part of it following their exclusion from the ministry.

 All encroached land to be freed: BJP MLA

Sarbanada Sonowal-led BJP government would free all occupied land and hand over the land to unemployed youth or the people in the agrarian sector so that the land can be put to proper use and people of Assam can become self-reliant. Speaking at the working committee meeting of the Mahila Morcha of BJP in Biswanath, MLA Padma Hazarika said that all land illegally occupied or encroached upon will be freed soon so that it can be used more productively and the state can be made self-reliant in the production of meat, milk and other farm produce. Hazarika also spoke about the BJP government&rsquo;s schemes and programmes for the upliftment of women folk of the state.
