Veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, who was best known for his role in &lsquo;Sholay&rsquo;, died on September 12. &nbsp;He died due to cardiac arrest at Mumbai&rsquo;s Kokilaben Hospital. His final rites will be performed on September 13.
Satinder Kumar Khosla&rsquo;s friend Jugnu confirmed the news to ANI.
The official X (formerly known as Twitter) account of the Cine &amp; TV Artistes&rsquo; Association (CINTAA) paid heartfelt condolences to Satinder. The post read, &lsquo;CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Birbal (Member since 1981).&rsquo;
Satinder, whose prolific career spanned over five decades, was best known for his comic characters. He worked in several films of Manoj Kumar including &lsquo;Upkar&rsquo;, &lsquo;Roti Kapda Aur Makaan&rsquo;, and Kranti. His role as a prisoner in &lsquo;Sholay&rsquo; garnered him a lot of attention. He was also featured in films like &lsquo;Naseeb&rsquo;, &lsquo;Yaarana&rsquo;, &lsquo;Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke&rsquo; and &lsquo;Anjaam&rsquo; among others.
Born in 1938, in Gurdaspur in Punjab, Satinder made his acting debut with the film &lsquo;Upkar&rsquo; in 1967 and went on to feature in numerous films across various languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, and Marathi.
