The decision was announced by Prashant Jagtap, leader of the NCP-Sharad Pawar faction, who lost the Hadapsar seat in Pune.
The move follows a meeting in Delhi on Tuesday evening involving NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, and senior Congress leader and lawyer Abhishek Singhvi.
The INDIA bloc claims the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition&rsquo;s overwhelming victory&mdash;securing 235 of the 288 seats&mdash;was influenced by tampered EVMs. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance managed only 46 seats in the assembly.
Sharad Pawar has been meeting party leaders who suffered defeats in the election, fueling the bloc's determination to challenge the results. During the meeting, Arvind Kejriwal also raised concerns about voter lists in Delhi, where assembly elections are scheduled early next year.

Pawar said the opposition will keep a collective face before the people of Maharashtra. He added that there is need for a change in the state.

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said his party, Congress, and the Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray will jointly contest the Maharashtra assembly polls, due in October this year.
Addressing a news conference here, Pawar also said it is the moral responsibility of the major opposition parties in Maharashtra to protect in the state assembly polls the interests of smaller allies, which were part of the coalition in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The NCP (SP), Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT) are constituents of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which was in power in the state from November 2019 till June 2022 before the collapse of the Thackeray-led government.
Pawar said the opposition will keep a collective face before the people of Maharashtra.
There is need for a change in the state and it is the moral responsibility of the opposition coalition to discharge it, Pawar said.
"As Arjuna's target (in the epic Mahabharata) was an eye (of a fish), our eyes are all set on the elections in Maharashtra. The Congress, NCP (SP) and Uddhav Thackeray's Sena (UBT) will jointly contest the Vidhan Sabha polls," he said.
The former Maharashtra chief minister said talks on seat-sharing in the state have not begun, but will commence soon.
The people gave a good response to the NCP (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, he noted.
"But like these three parties, the Left parties, Peasants and Workers Party (PWP) were also a part of the coalition but we could not give them seats in the Lok Sabha. It is our moral responsibility to protect the interests of these parties," he said.
"So the efforts will be to go ahead with them (in the state assembly polls)," Pawar added.
Asked about the state budget presented on Friday by the Eknath Shinde government, the NCP (SP) chief said, "What happens if you go with an empty pocket in a market? It's a matter of a few days, reality will be seen soon." A monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 to women in the 21 to 60 age group, three free LPG cylinders a year for households, farmer-friendly steps and a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month to youths for skill training were highlights of the Maharashtra government's budget for 2024-25 presented on Friday, four months ahead of the state polls.

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) president Sharad Pawar on Tuesday clarified that any decision on inducting leaders from the rival NCP led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will be taken on a case by case basis and it will not be a sweeping call.
Responding to a question at an event about speculation that many leaders from the ruling NCP want to join his party ahead of the state assembly polls, Sharad Pawar maintained there was no issue in welcoming people whose entry will benefit the opposition outfit and boost the morale of workers.
However, induction in the NCP (SP) will come with riders, asserted the former Union minister.
"Opinion of party colleagues needs to be taken about those who stayed in the party and got a lot from it, but worked to damage the organisation. That (opinion of party colleagues) has to be respected. It will be a case by case issue and not a general decision," the senior Pawar insisted.
The Rajya Sabha MP was speaking at an event here where former Union minister Surykanta Patil joined the NCP (SP). Patil had quit the undivided NCP to join the BJP in 2014 and has now returned to the party fold.
Sharad Pawar emphasised opinion of party leaders from districts will be taken into consideration before deciding on inducting leaders from that area. Role and contribution of such leaders will also be taken into consideration before approving their re-entry into the party.

The monsoon session of the legislature will begin on June 27 and end on July 12. This will be the last session before the state heads for assembly elections which are due in October.
In July last year, Ajit Pawar joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government along with eight other MLAs, leading to a split in the 1999-founded party with a majority of legislators leaving the senior Pawar's side.
However, speculation is rife that many leaders in the Ajit Pawar camp want to switch sides post the NCP's drubbing in the just held Lok Sabha polls.
The NCP, an ally of the BJP and the Shiv Sena, contested on four Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra as part of the ruling coalition and won only one. The ruling outfit lost the prestigious Baramati constituency in Pune district, where Ajit Pawar's wife was its candidate.
On the other hand, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP, a constituent of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), contested on 10 Lok Sabha seats and won eight.
The undivided NCP had won 54 assembly seats in the 2019 polls. When the party split in July 2023, the Ajit Pawar-led faction had claimed the support of around 40 MLAs.&nbsp;

Thackeray, further, announced that the MVA coalition will contest the Maharashtra assembly elections together. &ldquo;Assembly elections are coming shortly. This government was the Modi government and now it has become the NDA government. Now it is to be seen how long this government will last," he added.

Sharad Pawar believes that after the conclusion of the 2024 parliamentary elections, several regional parties may move closer or some may merge with the Congress as he shared a glimpse of how opposition politics might shape up after the polls.
Speaking to the Indian Express newspaper, Pawar said that the disdain towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi will drive the regional parties closer to Congress.
"In the next couple of years, several regional parties will associate more closely with the Congress. Or they may look at the option of merging with the Congress if they believe that is the best for their party,&rdquo; he was quoted as saying.
When asked if his party would also consider merging with Congress, Pawar indicated the possibility of such a situation, considering that both parties belong to the Gandhi, Nehru line of thinking.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t see any difference between the Congress and us&hellip;.Ideologically, we belong to the Gandhi, Nehru line of thinking,&rdquo; Pawar told Indian Express on May 4.

The Supreme Court barred the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party&nbsp;from using the name and photograph of Sharad Pawar in any election campaign materials.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed the Sharad Pawar faction to use 'Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar' as its name for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the country.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and KV Viswanathan also permitted the NCP bloc led by the veteran politician to use as its symbol 'man blowing turha' (a traditional trumpet also known as tutari).
The bench passed the order on a plea by the Sharad Pawar group seeking to restrain the Ajit Pawar faction from using the 'clock' symbol for the polls, as allotted by the Election Commission, on the ground that it is disrupting the level playing field.
The NCP, founded by Sharad Pawar, had 'clock' as its election symbol before its split. The symbol is now with the Ajit Pawar faction.
The bench directed the Election Commission and State Election Commission (SEC) to recognise the 'Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar' and its symbol 'man blowing turha'.
It also asked the EC to not allot the 'man blowing turha' symbol to any other party or an independent candidate.
It asked the Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar-led faction to issue a public notice in newspapers in English, Hindi and Marathi saying that the 'clock' symbol is sub-judice and its use is subject to adjudication.
The bench said the Ajit Pawar faction should make similar declarations in all election related audio-visual advertisements and publicity material like banners and posters.
It asked the Ajit Pawar camp to file its response within four weeks on the Sharad Pawar group's plea against the February 6 order of the Election Commission recognising the former as the real Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
On February 19, the top court had directed that the Election Commission's order allotting 'Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar' as the party name for the Sharad Pawar faction will continue till further orders.

A bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and K V Viswanathan asked the Ajit Pawar faction to file its response by Saturday to Sharad Pawar's plea and fixed it for further hearing on March 19.
&ldquo;We need a categorical and unconditional undertaking that the name, pictures of Sharad Pawar will not be used,&rdquo; the bench said.
Earlier, the top court had directed that the Election Commission's order of February 7 allotting 'Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar' as the party name for the Sharad Pawar faction will continue till further orders.

Shinde along with his deputies Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, all political rivals of Sharad Pawar, will be attending a job fair, 'Namo Maharojgar Melava', in the premises of Vidya Pratishthan college in Baramati town of Pune district.
The surprise invitation to Shinde and the two deputy CMs by Senior Pawar comes in the backdrop of a split in the NCP, a party founded by him in 1999, and strained ties with his nephew Ajit Pawar, who parted ways with him and joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government in July last year.
There are also talks to Ajit Pawar, who has got the NCP name and symbol following the split, thinking of fielding a candidate for the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, currently represented by his cousin and Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule.
In the invitation (which is part of a letter dated February 28) extended to Shinde, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, the former Union minister stated that as parliamentarians, he and Sule would like to attend the official event in Baramati.
The Rajya Sabha MP, in the letter addressed to Shinde, said as president of Vidya Pratishthan, he would be glad to welcome the CM on the premises of the educational institute.

The Election Commission of India on Thursday allotted "man blowing turha (a traditional trumpet)" as the symbol of the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar, the outfit's spokesperson Clyde Crasto said.
"Our candidates will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on this symbol," he told PTI.
'Man blowing turha' is the new symbol of NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar, the ECI said in its order.
Also called 'tutari' in Marathi, the trumpet is sounded to mark the entry of important persons, ranging from kings earlier to political leaders now.
The Sharad Pawar faction quoted lines from a popular poem 'Tutari' written by Jnanpith awardee Kusumagraj.
"The Tutari in the form of great valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had once deafened the emperor of Delhi. It is a great honour for our party to get Tutari (Man Blowing Turha) as our symbol for upcoming elections. Our Tutari is now ready to shake Delhi's throne under the leadership of Sharadchandra Pawar," the party said in a post on X.
The Sharad Pawar-founded NCP split in July last year after Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde government.
The ECI later gave the party name and 'clock' symbol to the faction led by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.

The Election Commission has alloted a new name to the NCP faction led by Sharad Pawar after it declared that the group led by Ajit Pawar was the 'real NCP'. Now, Sharad Pawar's faction will be known as Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar.&nbsp;
The order by the poll authority came a day after it gave the Nationalist Congress Party name and the "clock" election symbol to the group led by Ajit Pawar, who had walked away with a majority NCP MLAs in the Maharashtra assembly in July last year.
The Commission had asked the Sharad Pawar group to suggest three names of which one could be allotted in view of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Maharashtra.
Accordingly, the Sharad Pawar group has suggested the names -- Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party -- Sharadrao Pawar and Nationalist Congress Party-Sharad Pawar -- to the Commission.
The faction had also sought 'banyan tree' as the election symbol for itself.
The Commission conveyed to Sharad Pawar that it has "acceded to your first preference, i.e. 'Nationalist Congress PArty -- Sharadchandra Pawar' as the name of your group/faction as a onetime option for the purposes of forthcoming election to 6 seats in the Rajya Sabha in Maharashtra..."&nbsp;

The decision followed the laid-out tests of maintainability of such a petition which included tests of aims and objectives of party constitution, test of party constitution and tests of majority both organisational and legislative, the commission said.
&ldquo;The test of majority in the legislative wing found favour in this circumstance of the case, where both groups have found to be working outside the party constitution and the organisational elections," the poll authority observed.&nbsp;

She&nbsp;added&nbsp;that&nbsp;she is not&nbsp;surprised&nbsp;by the&nbsp;EC's&nbsp;decision&nbsp;as it is a repeat&nbsp;of what happened&nbsp;to Uddhav&nbsp;Thackeray&nbsp;in the&nbsp;Shiv&nbsp;Sena&nbsp;dispute.&nbsp;

Settling the factional dispute in the NCP, the Election Commission ruled that the party founded by Sharad Pawar now belongs to his nephew Ajit Pawar.

The Ajit Pawar faction is the real Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Election Commission announced on Tuesday, ending months of speculation over the factional fight with his party founder and uncle Sharad Pawar.
In an order, the Election Commission (EC) also allotted the NCP symbol 'Wall Clock' to the group led by Ajit Pawar.
The decision followed the laid-out tests of maintainability of such a petition which included tests of aims and objectives of party constitution, test of party constitution and tests of majority both organisational and legislative, the commission said.
"The test of majority in the legislative wing found favour in this circumstance of the case, where both groups have found to be working outside the party constitution and the organisational elections," the poll authority observed.
The EC made a concession to the group led by Sharad Pawar by allowing it a "one-time option" to claim a name for its political outfit and provide three preferences by Wednesday afternoon in view of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
Ajit Pawar had walked away with a majority of NCP MLAs in July last year and supported the BJP-Shiv Sena government led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra.&nbsp;

The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar group) on Friday said its MLA Rohit Pawar's just concluded "Yuva Sangharsh Yatra" has "hit a nerve" and made the BJP insecure, remarks coming after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched premises of a firm owned by him.
The ED searched premises of Baramati Agro, a company owned by Rohit Pawar, grand nephew of NCP founder Sharad Pawar, and linked entities as part of a money laundering probe into the alleged Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank scam, official sources said in New Delhi.
Reacting to the ED action, NCP (Sharad Pawar group) national spokesperson Clyde Crasto said the central agency's searches will not deter Rohit Pawar, a first-time MLA from Karjat-Jamkhed in Ahmednagar district, or stop him in his tracks.
"He will come out stronger. It is clear that the Sangharsh Yatra has hit a nerve and made the BJP insecure," Crasto claimed.
The NCP spokesperson said justice system is supreme and the truth will ultimately prevail.
Rohit Pawar, currently abroad on a family vacation, had taken out the foot march from Pune to Nagpur late last year to highlight the issues faced by youths in Maharashtra.
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya demanded expeditious probe into the acquisition of a cooperative sugar factory by Baramati Agro.
The former MP wrote on social media platform X, "We requested ED to investigate acquisition of Kannad cooperative sugar factory by Rohit Pawar's Baramati Agro at very much under valued price of Rs 50 cr through manipulated auction of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank." "I once again request all investigative agencies to expedite investigation against Rohit Pawar and Baramati Agro," Somaiya said.
The Kannad sugar cooperative unit was worth hundreds of crores, but it was acquired by Baramati Agro for just Rs 50 crore, he said.

Sharad Pawar said the sport gives farmers satisfaction and confidence.
He said those in power have no affection for farmers and gave examples of decisions like export on ban on some produce, including onions.
Instead of helping farmers, the government creates hurdles, he alleged.&nbsp;

NCP founder Sharad Pawar defied rains to deliver a speech on Sunday, bringing back memories of his pivotal address in October 2019 which is said to have changed the fortunes of his party in the last Maharashtra assembly elections. In the evening, Pawar attended a party event in Navi Mumbai, which had been receiving rains since the morning. As he started to speak, light showers followed.
However, the veteran politician, who will turn 83 next month, wasn&rsquo;t deterred.
&ldquo;Our plans here have been disrupted by the rains today. But we are the people who won&rsquo;t surrender so easily or backtrack. We need to continue our struggle in future as well,&rdquo; he said amid the rains, apparently referring to his nephew Ajit Pawar&rsquo;s aggressive plans to take control of the party.
Photos and videos of the rain-soaked NCP chief at the event soon went viral on social media, with his supporters remembering his address four years ago.

It will not be an exaggeration if it is said the 'varna' (caste) system harmed the Hindu religion, said the former Union minister.
&ldquo;Currently, politics has started over (Ram) temple in the country. Efforts are being made in a planned way to formulate a public opinion (for it). Dates have been announced for (consecration ceremony of) the Ram Mandir,&rdquo; Pawar said.
The Rajya Sabha MP maintained there was no reason to complain about the temple or people's respect for Lord Ram.
&ldquo;But rulers are putting forth before the people that this is the only important thing. I think it is not proper,&rdquo; remarked the veteran politician.
Speaking at the event, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray asserted he has snapped ties with the BJP, but not Hindutva.
The former CM further said the BJP's version of Hindutva was not acceptable to him.
