Making a strong comeback after Tuesday's sharp decline, the 30-share BSE Sensex jumped over 2300 points to 74,382. The NSE Nifty went up by 735 points to 22,620. The euphoria over exit polls seems to be waning as the share market had an extremely volatile start. Ahead of the final Lok Sabha poll results today Sensex and Nifty was down by about 3% erasing all the gains that was made on Monday.&nbsp;
In the early trade, Sensex lost a whopping 2,211 points to 74,257 while Nifty lost 698 points to 22,565.&nbsp;
<h3>Share market falls</h3>
Nifty pharma and healthcare index were trading in green in the early trade. Most of the PSU stocks that extended gains on Monday have had a deep cut. Nifty PSU Bank falls 3.45% to 7,729.90, nifty bank declines 1.36% to 50,288.90. Power stocks also slumped around 9%.&nbsp; Similarly Adani group stocks crashed with Adani total gas, Adani ports down about 8 to 10%.
On Tuesday the stock futures surged amid expectations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi retaining power for the third consecutive term. As per NSE Interntional Exchange data, the Nifty 50 futures rose 0.21% in early trade. The GIFT Nifty futures indicated an upward trend, trading 73 points higher at 23,481 compared to Nifty futures.
In the pre-open too Nifty dropped 100 points while Sensex fell 180 points.&nbsp;
On Monday while the Indian benchmark indices sensex and nifty surged over 3% each, the Volatility Index dropped a whopping 15%.&nbsp;

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that investors should buy stocks before June 4 as he expects the market to shoot up post the election results. He also expressed confidence of NDA sweeping the Lok Sabha elections. He further said that the share market shouldn't be linked with elections, but a stable government does pave the way for it to perform better.
During the early trade on Monday, Sensex dropped 742 pts to 71,922 as selling by FIIs continued. Reflecting a weak investor sentiment on Dalal Street, Nifty too slipped 194 points to 21,861.
<h3>Amit Shah on Share market</h3>
When asked about rumours that the share market crashes indicated a poor performance by the BJP, Amit Shah pointed out that the markets have made bigger corrections 16 times prior to this.
"Stock market crashes should not be linked with elections, but even if such a rumour has been spread, I suggest you that buy (shares) before June 4. It will shoot up," he said.
He further indicated that &nbsp;the stock market performs well whenever there's a stable government.
"That's why I am saying we are going to get 400-plus seats and a stable Modi government will be in power. Therefore, the share market will certainly go up," he said.
Voting for Lok Sabha polls began on April 19th and will end on June 1st. The result will be announced on June 4th.&nbsp;

The total market value of Chinese and Hong Kong stocks has plunged by more than $6 trillion since their peaks in 2021. As per Bloomberg, Beijing&rsquo;s stringent anti-Covid-19 curbs, regulatory crackdowns on corporations, a property-sector crisis and geopolitical tensions with the West have all combined to erode China&rsquo;s appeal as the world&rsquo;s growth engine.

The railway stock commanded a market-capitalisation of Rs 46,016.39 crore. On the BSE, about 71.11 lakh shares changed hands today which was higher than the two-week average volume of 21.26 lakh shares. The turnover at the counter was at Rs 157.19 crore.

As per Analysts quoted in Business Today, RVNL may climb up to Rs 282 in the near term and that traders must trail profits at the current level.
"RVNL is in a secular up trend, hovering at its lifetime high zone. The counter recently surpassed the Rs 200 mark and continued its upward rally into uncharted territory. For now, it is advisable to keep trailing profits. Rs 200 is likely to act as a strong support zone in the comparable period", Senior Research Analyst - Technical &amp; Derivatives at Angel One Osho Krishnan told Business Today.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is an Indian central public sector enterprise which works as the construction arm of the Ministry of Railways for project implementation and transportation infrastructure development. Promoters held 72.84% stake in the company, as of September 2023.

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty hit a record high after recovering from the intraday losses on Tuesday. The NSE Nifty ended 0.13% or 34 points higher at 21,445 ,while the BSE Sensex ended 0.17% or 122 points higher at 71,437.

About 1833 shares advanced, 1797 shares declined, and 132 shares unchanged. Among broader indices the smallcap index hit fresh record high of 42,544, before closing with marginal gains, while BSE Midcap index lost 0.3%.&nbsp;
Biggest gainers on the Nifty were Coal India, Nestle India, Tata Consumer Products, NTPC and Cipla, while losers included SBI Life Insurance, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Ports, Wipro and Adani Enterprises. Eleven out of 20 sectors compiled by BSE declined, while nine sectors advanced. S&amp;P BSE Energy rose the most.

Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares has said that Reliance shares helped the markets to recover from the losses which was further propelled by PSU banks and pharma counters. Regarding Nifty he mentioned that there was an indecisiveness between the bulls and bears.
"Extreme volatility was seen on both sides whereas in the opening trade, a strong recovery was witnessed under the leadership of heavyweight Reliance. In the mid-session, PSU Banks and Pharma counters joined the party and pushed the Index further higher to register a fresh high of 21,505.05," said Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares.
"However, towards the end of the day, the Index pared off some of its gains to settle at 21,453.10 with gains of 34.45 points. On the sectoral front, Energy was up by 1.58% and ended the session as a top performer followed by FMCG (+1.41%) while IT and Auto sectors witnessed a profit booking pressure. Underperformance was observed by the Broader markets as Mid and Smallcaps corrected by 0.38% &amp; 0.12% respectively," Gaggar added.

"The buoyancy continued in the market as investors were expecting the clouds over US economic growth to recede by H2CY24 and that the economy would achieve a soft landing aided by normalization in monetary policy. The USD/INR witnessed a steep fall on account of the prospects of interest rates being cut next year. The IT index outperformed expectations of a rise in demand in the US economy", said Vinod Nair, head of research at Geojit Financial Services.
The gainers on Friday include Infosys Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., State Bank of India, and HCL Technologies added positively to the indices while Bharti Airtel Ltd., ITC Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., HDFC Life Insurance Ltd., and Maruti Suzuki Ltd weighed on the indices.
This week, all sectors advanced with IT sector emerging as the top gainer with 7.16% weekly gains. The broader markets underperformed as the BSE MidCap rose 0.17%, while the BSE SmallCap was 0.25% higher. Six out of the 20 sectors compiled by the BSE advanced, while 14 declined.

"Technically, the short-term texture of the market is still on the long side. A breakout continuation formation on weekly charts and uptrend continuation formation on intraday charts indicating further uptrend from the current levels. We believe that, as long as the index is trading above 20700/69000 the positive sentiment is likely to continue. Above 20700, the index could rally till 20950-21000 for Nifty 50, 69600-69800 for Sensex," said Shrikant Chouhan, head equity research, Kotak Securities.

Both indices have surged more than 5% each in the last six sessions, pushing them into overbought territories. This market surge is fuelled by improved U.S. interest rate expectations, a decline in crude prices, robust domestic economic indicators, increased foreign investments, and optimism post-state election outcomes.

"The Bank Nifty has crossed an all-time high of 46400, which is a big positive for the index. It could help the index move higher towards the level of 48000, with major resistance at 47000. Support would be at 46000 and 45800. Buying on dips is a prudent strategy", said Shrikant Chouhan &ndash; Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities.
Shares of HDFC Bank Ltd., Axis Bank Ltd., Adani Enterprises Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., and ICICI Bank Ltd. gained the most while Infosys Ltd., HCL Technologies Ltd., Larsen &amp; Toubro Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd., and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. capped the upside. About 2,064 stocks rose and 873 declined while 115 remained unchanged on the BSE.

During opening the sensex was up 882.38 points or 1.31% at 68,363.57, and the Nifty was up 276.40 points or 1.36% at 20,544.30. About 2,194 shares advanced, 259 shares declined, and 119 shares unchanged. In the pre-open session the sensex was up 954.15 points, or 1.41%, at 68,435 while the NSE Nifty 50 was 334.05 points or 1.65% higher at 20,601.95. The BSE Power Index is nearly 3%, lead by Adani Green Energy, Adani Power and Adani Energy. The investors have now became richer by over Rs 4.97 lakh crore
V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services told Moneycontrol that the state election results could trigger renewed optimism and further rally in the market. He went on to say that from the market perspective the poll result was better than expected.
"The state elections results have turned out to be a big event which can trigger renewed optimism and further rally in the market. Market likes political stability and a reform-oriented, market-friendly government. From the market perspective, the results were better-than-expected. The market has already partly discounted a BJP victory with a 500 point rally during the last 4 sessions. But the mood is so exuberant that the rally will continue. The global backdrop also is favourable with the US 10-year bond yield declining to 4.23%. An across the board rally in stocks is in the offing", VK Vijayakumar told Moneycontrol

The broader markets also did well, as the BSE midcap index rose 227.43 points or 0.70%, while the BSE smallcap index gained about 452.11 points or 1.18%. Likewise, the broader Nifty of the National Stock Exchange advanced 109.80 points or 0.57% to 19,535.15 led by gains in IT, infra and energy shares.
All the sectoral indices were trading in green which was led by industrials, IT, metal and services indices. The lead gainers include, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, ITC, TCS, Kotak Bank, Asian Paints and Titan.
Muhurat Trading is a one-hour, symbolic trading session conducted by Indian stock exchanges on Diwali, a Hindu festival considered auspicious for new beginnings, including investments.

In 2023 alone the equity markets have a total of 15 holidays while 2022 had only 13. In November the stock market will be closed on November 14 on the account of Diwali-Balipratipada, and then again on November 27 for the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be closed on 29 June on account of Bakrid. Earlier, 28 June was listed as the market holiday.&nbsp;
Along with the NSE and BSE, whole sale commodity markets that include metal and bullion will also remain closed. Similarly, there will be no trading activity in the forex and commodity futures markets either.&nbsp;
This comes after the Maharashtra general administration department on Monday announced the change in holiday.&nbsp;
The NSE in a separate circular also mentioned that the expiry of the weekly and the monthly derivative contracts would be shifted to Wednesday.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Meanwhile, after ending flat on Monday, both the market indices are trading on the high on June 27. At 12 PM, the sensex was up 0.3% at 63,160.95 and the Nifty was up 0.29% at 18,746.55.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Benchmark stock indices closed lower on Wednesday, snapping their three-day gaining streak following profit-taking in financials, metal and oil shares amid a bearish trend in the global markets.
The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 208.01 points or 0.34% to settle at 61,773.78 in volatile trade. The index opened lower but bounced back in late-morning deals to hit a high of 62,154.14. The barometer later gave up gains to hit a low of 61,708.10 in line with weak European markets.
The broader NSE Nifty declined 62.60 points or 0.34% to end at 18,285.40 after losses in Adani Entertainment, Adani Ports and Tata Motors.
Among the Sensex firms, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, Larsen &amp; Toubro, Asian Paints and Tata Steel were the major laggards.
Sun Pharma, Titan, ITC, IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra and Power Grid were among the winners.
"The domestic market experienced a short-lived rally that was overshadowed by subdued global market sentiment. US Treasury yields rose due to concerns over stalled US debt ceiling talks and hawkish comments from US Fed officials, which reduced the chances of a rate pause," said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.
Market participants are waiting for the release of the FOMC meeting minutes, scheduled for Wednesday.
In Asian markets, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong ended lower.
Equity markets in Europe were trading in the red. The US market ended in the negative territory on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 1.89% to USD 78.29 a barrel.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were buyers on Tuesday as they bought equities worth Rs 182.51 crore, according to exchange data.
The BSE benchmark settled at 61,981.79, a marginal gain of 18.11 points or 0.03% on Tuesday. The Nifty went up by 33.60 points or 0.18% to end at 18,348.
