The highly anticipated Realme GT 5G smartphone is set to launch in China on March 4, powered by a Snapdragon 888 chip. Reports say the upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset is expected to launch in the second half of 2021, with the regular 888 SoC having launched in early December 2020. Qualcomm's overclocked upgrade for its flagship chipset for the year is usually launched in July each year, as seen with the 855 Plus in July 2019, and the 865 Plus launch in July 2020.

Qualcomm has launched its next generation flagship processor, the Snapdragon 888 5G processor. The new mobile platform will power the next wave of premium smartphones to be launched in 2021.
The Snapdragon 888 features a new Adreno GPU that supports 144fps gaming, while the udated Spectra ISP can now take photos and videos at up to 2.7 gigapixels per second, or 120 12-megapixel photos every second.
Qualcomm says it has &ldquo;completely redesigned&rdquo; the Hexagon processor to deliver 26 tera operations per second (TOPS). Unlike the previous Snapdragon 865 processor, the 888 comes fully integrated with a 5G modem that supports sub-6 and mmWave connectivity.
