Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida fired his son as his executive policy secretary after public outrage over a private party held at Shotaro Kishida's residence.
The PM said his son is stepping down to take responsibility for using the prime minister's residence for a private party at which the merrymaking was exposed in magazine photos that triggered public outrage.

Ex-navy man strangulated, body chopped into pieces allegedly by son

A senior police officer of Baruipur police district said on Sunday that the two claimed to be "continuously tortured" by Chakraborty.

In an incident reminiscent of the ghastly killing of Shraddha Walker, a former navy man was killed and his body was allegedly cut into pieces and dumped in various places by his son in West Bengal.
The wife and college-going son of 55-year-old Ujjal Chakraborty, a resident of Baruipur in South 24 Parganas, were arrested by the police in connection with the crime on Saturday.
A senior police officer of Baruipur police district said on Sunday that the two claimed to be "continuously tortured" by Chakraborty.
According to the police, initial probe has revealed that Chakraborty and his son had a fight in their home on November 12 over money for a college examination.
The man had refused to pay the Rs 3000 required for the examination and slapped the son, who in retaliation pushed him. Chakraborty hit his head on a chair and fell unconscious.
The son, a student of carpentry at a polytechnic, then strangulated him.
Chakraborty retired from the navy about 12 years ago.
"After killing Chakraborty, his wife and son dragged his body to the bathroom. The son then used a hacksaw from his carpentry class kit bag to cut his father's body into six pieces. Afterwards, he dumped them in and around their neighbourhood," the police officer said.

The son carried the body parts wrapped in plastic in at least six trips in his cycle and dumped them around 500 m away at Khas Mallick and Dehimedan Malla areas, he said.
"Chakraborty's legs have been recovered from under a garbage dump, while his head and stomach were fished out of a pond in Dehimedan Malla," he said.
Search is on for other parts of the body, including hands, the police officer said.
The police suspicion fell on the mother-son duo when they lodged a missing diary in the wee hours of November 15.
"What struck us was the time when they went to Baruipur police station to lodge the missing complaint. We found discrepancies in their versions and grilled them. Finally, the son admitted to the crime," the police officer said.
Twentyseven-year-old Shraddha Walker was brutally killed and her body was chopped into 35 pieces by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla in Delhi.

Similar names of two mothers whose day-old sons were admitted at the same hospital had led to a goof-up by the nurse on duty, with one of the aggrieved mother approaching the police over the matter which was finally settled with the help of a DNA test.
The Barpeta district and sessions judge on Friday ordered that the three-year-old boy be handed to his biological mother, Najma Khanam, of the same district.
Khanam had given birth to a boy at the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital here on March 3, 2019. She was shifted to the ICU after the delivery and the newborn was kept in the baby room.
Khanam’s husband was informed by the Hospital authority the next day that their son had died. Unwilling to accept it as their son was healthy at birth, the couple had filed a case against the Hospital at the Barpeta Sadar Police Station.
During the course of enquiry, police found that one Najma Khatun of Gossaigaon had got her newborn male child admitted to the same Hospital on the same day in a very serious condition and he had died the same day.
The nurse on duty had mixed up the two infants and handed the dead child to Najma Khanam’s husband.
The boy’s biological parentage was determined through a DNA test as ordered by the court, leading to his reunion with his actual family.
