Actor Soni Razdan recently shared how her kids Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt had a middle-class upbringing as there was never excess money.
In a chat with Rashmi Uchil for her book Raising Stars, Soni recalled an incident when she was travelling to Dubai with her daughters and since they could not afford 3 business class tickets, she made them travel in economy.
&lsquo;Once, we were travelling to Dubai and could not afford three business-class tickets. I told my children, &lsquo;I will travel first class, and you guys travel economy.&rsquo; They made a face. When I went to check on them, I saw the lady in the seat right in front of them had reclined her seat, and these children had hardly any space in front of them. I told my children, &lsquo;Why don&rsquo;t you ask her to straighten her seat? Are you guys okay?&rsquo; They were miffed and retorted, &lsquo;Why are you asking us how we are doing? We will not tell her anything.&rsquo; The lady in front of them was a senior citizen and they felt bad telling her to straighten her seat. It wasn&rsquo;t a big deal at all,&rsquo; she shared.
Sharing her point of view behind getting her kids to travel economy, Soni said that her logic was that once you can afford the business class fare, you could travel in business class.
&lsquo;My logic was you have not earned enough to travel in business class as yet. Once you earn enough to afford the business class fare, please travel in business class. Simple as that,&rsquo; she said.
Soni Razdan shared that her family &lsquo;never had plenty, but we managed fine,&rsquo; and that her two children had &lsquo;a normal, regular middle-class upbringing.&rsquo; She mentioned that there was never any excess money, and they lived in a two-bedroom apartment until 2004.
According to Soni, &lsquo;money started coming in&rsquo; only after Mahesh turned producer, but even then, he had two households to look after. Mahesh Bhatt was previously married to Kiran Bhatt, with whom he has two children &ndash; Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt.
During that time, Soni Razdan had a Maruti Zen and would personally drive her kids to school in that car. She expressed that she was glad her children had a typical middle-class upbringing because that was how she was raised as well. Soni mentioned that while her husband had a car and a driver to take him to work, she had a Zen and would drive the children to school herself, also picking them up afterward.

Apart from having some facial features in common we also share a love for bhindi and baingan (ladyfinger and brinjal), (unlike our other two family members) we apparently walk alike, talk alike, and have similar ways of being.&rsquo;

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who welcomed a baby girl on November 6, are back at their Mumbai residence with their princess. Alia was discharged from Mumbai's HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on November 10th morning.
Alia&rsquo;s mother Soni Razdan, who attended the special screening of &lsquo;Uunchai&rsquo; on November 9, talked about her granddaughter for the first time at the event. She told the media that her granddaughter was &lsquo;kudrat ka daan hai (a blessing from nature)&rsquo;. She said they are very happy, thankful and grateful that everything has gone off well. Soni mentioned that both mother and daughter are doing well.
She was also asked if she was giving any tips to Alia, to which she replied, &lsquo;Haan bohut sare tips dete rehte hai (yes, I give her many tips). Ek ma hoon mein, tips kaise nahi doongi, bohut sari tips dee hain (I am a mother, how will not give Alia tips, I have shared many tips).&rdquo; The actor further spoke about her daughter, and said, &ldquo;Of course, she (Alia) is a mother, she has to discover a lot of things for herself, which she will.&rsquo;
Alia had officially announced the arrival of her &lsquo;magical girl&rsquo; on Instagram hours after her delivery. The post read, &lsquo;And in the best news of our lives &ndash; Our baby is here... and what a magical girl she is. Alia Bhatt's parents Soni Razdan, Mahesh Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt visited her on Sunday afternoon. The actor recently returned to town after wrapping up the shoot of her Hollywood debut 'Heart of Stone.' This is the first time Alia's family is meeting her post her pregnancy announcement.
Alia Bhatt returned to India after 1.5 months on July 9. She received a sweet surprise from her husband Ranbir Kapoor upon arrival to the city. The 'Sanju' actor had come to receive her at the Mumbai airport. A video of the same has gone viral on the Internet in which the actors can be seen embracing each other before heading home. 
Alia shared a series of pictures from the set of 'Heart of Stone' along with a note of gratitude. She thanked her co-star Gal Gadot, director Tom Harper and the whole team for the unforgettable experience and said 'Heart of Stone'  has her whole heart. 
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married in April this year and they are expecting their first child together.

Alia Bhatt recently returned to Mumbai after wrapping up the shoot of her Hollywood debut 'Heart of Stone.'

The actor recently returned to town after wrapping up the shoot of her Hollywood debut 'Heart of Stone.' This is the first time Alia's family is meeting her post her pregnancy announcement.
Alia Bhatt returned to India after 1.5 months on July 9. She received a sweet surprise from her husband Ranbir Kapoor upon arrival to the city. The 'Sanju' actor had come to receive her at the Mumbai airport. A video of the same has gone viral on the Internet in which the actors can be seen embracing each other before heading home.&nbsp;
Alia shared a series of pictures from the set of 'Heart of Stone' along with a note of gratitude. She thanked her co-star Gal Gadot, director Tom Harper and the whole team for the unforgettable experience and said 'Heart of Stone' &nbsp;has her whole heart.&nbsp;
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married in April this year and they are expecting their first child together.
Besides, 'Heart of Stone,' Alia is awaiting the release of 'Brahmastra' her first film with Ranbir and her production maiden 'Darlings.' &nbsp;Some of her other forthcoming projects include, 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' and 'Jee Le Zaraa.'
